^ So any help from you pros?
What you did was break down what happens when the match goes how you want it to. What happens when it doesn’t?
Example:
At the 2:46 mark, orbs is activated. Storm LAs up in the air. As Storm is coming down, Strider has little less than a quarter level. If she is gonna float down, why not build to your next level? You aren’t going to catch her, you have no levels and Cyke can override Doom. I just don’t understand attacking with Strider without orbs. You must know he’s gonna call Cyke when he lands. In this instance, both Strider and Doom take unnecessary damage. Strider’s sword is assist bait, Imo. It seems many Striders are trying to kill quick when they don’t have levels. Clock’s lockdown is flawless, I agree. But what about when Orbs isn’t activated? Not knockin the Clock at all, just giving a possible reason why S/D teams don’t dominate like they rightfully should.
You stated yourself, "I still don’t understand how clockw0rk loses, I really don’t."
Strider tries to fight.
still can’t watch youtube videos
I know why he loses but I won’t reveal it because hes a friend.
What’s your opinion on starting cable with team scrub vs MSP?
I’ve been reading through the thread for quite a while before posting. Maybe I should have been more specific. Yeah, it’s a pretty hard team. Thanks for the insight. I’d like to play you if we’d get a chance this upcoming Marvel season. Make sure you put some emphasis on my mistakes. Do you think Sentinel is the best choice for the duo?
good question as I would like to know this too. I’ve been asking that question for years.
There is nothing for you to reveal. He lost that particular match because he attacks with Strider. So, I will ask you directly: Do you believe Strider should attack in a match without Orbs? Do you think is best for him to go on the defensive, considering the opposition usually kills Strider FIRST. What are the pros and cons of meter building and running away with Strider until you get to a point when you can turn on orbs?
Snakeshot, if you can weight in, I’d love to hear your take on that concept, too.
Iron Man is fun. Catch with Strider, tag IM, infinite into PC. GG.
I also seen some retarded Strider/Anak/Doom shit.
It’s fun, but Sentinel is so broken it’s like he’s a must for every team.
Then again, fun doesn’t mean best, so take it as is.
I don’t think this is meant towards me, but just to be safe I’d like to make it clear that the Cable strats for using nade that I posted are just a question, and not strats for anybody to follow. I just wanted to see what’s good and what sucks about the ways I try to use nades, so I used them as examples.
As far as questions are concerned, I’d like to know what top players think is the best way to attack an incoming Storm with Sent. What I know:
LK drones followed by unblockable. Only works if I kill Mag with lots of frame advantage and doesn’t work if Storm takes the hit.
Randy Lew’s j HP, guardbreaks. land lk mp sj cancel into unblockable combo. If I get it wrong I get hit by Psy. It seems to work only if they block regularly when coming in.
JWong’s fly HP, guardbreaks, unfly lp, sj lp or lk into unblockable combo. This seems to be the better thing to do, but I can’t do it often enough to test it properly against pushblocks and people who take the hit.
Everybody’s j HP, fly lk lk rocket punch. Too much risk, too little reward?
I haven’t noticed any other approaches asides from dashing below + assist and stuff like it. Would anybody like to discuss the pros and cons of those?
In my own experience, unless you have a really good Sentinel and can avoid getting hit reliably, start Cable. If you start Sent, any random Magneto scrub might get that lucky hit in and snap Commando in. From there, Commando either has to risk a blind tag out or build three levels to safely get someone in (not off of hit; if it’s off of hit you can DHC sword into HVB if it will kill).
Of course, that’s not to say starting Sent is a horrible idea, that’s just one of the downsides of starting Sent and getting hit. If you start Cable and your opponent opts to snap Commando in, you have a much easier time getting Sentinel in safely than getting Cable in. Just my honest opinion.
I would also like to thank Potter for this amazing thread and the insight he is offering out of his own free time.
well my opinion on that is, i start cable if im playing anyone but magnus. Magneto has that one hit kill so i would start Sent. even though sent could get killed as well i would still start sent its a better change of killin magnus.
but i do start cable versus anyone else especially sent cuz a good cable/CC would hold sent down for a min. then what do you know, sent ends up flying and doesnt have unfly and you got a super for free.
ppl plz stop shitting on potters thread
thnx
thank you
now, since youre from memphis TN and probably know a lot more about MVC9 than robust, can you tell me how i would go about
-
beating a great runaway storm who is terrific at counter calling and blocking
-
placing top 3 at evo
-
what are the best ways to SET UP double snap opportunities with MSP
thanks in response for your humorous answers
Very good thread…don’t mess it up guys…
lol.
-
If your talking about while using Cable with Scrub, then you have to use commando to get her blocking at sj height while you sj gernade, hp xx viper beam for chip then go from there.
-
Kill off all the other players.
3.Make them block while calling an assist, then square jump cross up with mag (sj, AD forward(cross up) Hp, hk, land short, short snap.) This mainly happens on Sent/cap…lol.
all of these answers are worthless
but thanks for the effort
did you not see all of the other posts that referenced people other than robust giving bad info/answers?
you aren’t qualified
sorry
god damn mashing going down in this thread now.
i know you guys are excited about how fucking utterly awesome your tactics are
I just wish you’d all shut the fuck up and let potter do what we’re asking him to do.
If you’re so hype to teach, make your own thread.
i’ve been just reading and not posting…but basically what mixup is saying…c’mon
Ok back to Potter. How many times have you just hit a wall and felt like you couldn’t get better and how do you overcome that shit?
