Are there assists that have to be blocked high? Are you crossing them up? I’d imagine that something like this could be very abusable, thus probably not unblockable but it’d be crazy if it were. During block strings I’ll end with a 6C ->Alex Assist -> Cancel 6C into 214B and I’ve gotten the effective cross-up about 95% of the time, it’s all about timing! Zero is just passing through the enemy when Alex comes and donkey slaps the back of their head. Sometimes I’ll even do this on a connected 6C because I’m so confident that I’ll get a reset or at least finish up the combo with the extra assist damage.
And why aren’t all these combos and their variants in the first post yet…?

Sevans there are no overhead assists, that would be retarded. Assists are there for the blockstun, not for crossing up. When your assists comes out your opponent still has to block in reference to you, so even if they get hit in the back of their head they are still going to block if they follow you. It worked 95% of the time because you’re playing people that simply got hit because they were trying to counter attack after they saw your combo string was done (or so they thought).
It’s disturbing how much people are gonna be referencing their laggy Wifi battles when they mention how effective a cross up is or is supposed to be lol.
Anyway…
I need to test the numbers for effectiveness in sacrificing 2 bars for 5 extra hits during baroque for Megacrash combos. Look at the last few combos and you’ll see what I mean.

For the record, I think Zero is amazing…sucks that he’s going to be the new Karas in terms of overusage though…ah well. I’m thinking with 30% of red life or more it would be worth it. I need to really test and get the lowest % of red life that I need that will make this do more damage than a lvl 3 baroque + hyper combo, that way you save 1 bar because MC only uses 2. Think about it…and please for the love of god can someone do some testing? I have work all day today and I figure by the time I get back someone should have the numbers.
I didn’t think there were, that WOULD be retarded. I must have just been confused by what GHNeko said. I confused “high” with “overhead.” I guess the multi-hitting blockstun would keep them blocking high while you attack low? (Assuming they were in the first place.) I know that the opponent has to block in reference to me, it’s just that with all the commotion and the ambiguous cross-up dash that Zero has they are often caught blocking in the wrong direction. You’re right though, a few of these times I got the hit because he tried counter attacking and just got knocked out of it.
And for the record, this was all done in person, not laggy Wifi battles. I’m sure they’ll be referenced like mad, though.
For starters…take all the 5C and 6C out of your combos. They always give lower total damage…regardless of amount of baroque, hits, etc.
To combo into level 3, then I suggest:
5a, 5b, 2b, 3c, 623a XX 5a, 2c, 623ab – 22 Billion
5a, 5b, 2b, 20% baroque, 5b, 2b, 3c, 623a XX 5a, 2c, 623ab – 24.1 Billion
5a, 5b, 2b, 30% baroque, 5b, 2b, 3c, 623a XX 5a, 2c, 623ab – 28.3 Billion

Beams DO hit OTG. For fun sometimes I screw around and do 5a, 5b, 2b, (call roll assist just before) 2c, 236ab. Roll bucket smacks them OTG and leaves em there long enough for beams to hit.
That’s good because then you can probably find a way to OTG the attack.
So, has anyone decided on the definitive assist character for Zero? I’ve been trying to work out some teams.
Here’s some Zero/Tekkaman combos:
Midscreen:
5a, 5b, 2b, 3c, 623a xx 5a~p, 3c, 623a, (assist hits), walk backwards, 5b, 2b, 3c, j.aabb, j.bb, 236b – 18.3 Billion
Back within 1/2 screen:
5a, 5b, 2b, 3c, 623a xx 5a~p, 3c, 623a (hold a), (assist hits), walk backwards, 5b, 2b, 3c, j.bb, j.bb, release a (lvl 3) xx 214a, land, 2a, 5b, 2b, 3c, j.aabb, j.bb, 236b
Of course, you could Baroque in there and re-launch either combo for more damage.
The biggest problem with Tekkaman assist is that he does not offer Zero any extra rushdown/mixup.
j.C charge shot level 2/3 j.B land 5A > combo works. Just did it on accident. Apparently after a charged shot in the air you can do another aerial without dashing or jumping.
Found a link which gives Zero a new BnB (now he has a 15 Billion BnB with knockdown). It also makes all of Zero’s Baroque combos much easier, as well as more damaging at any Baroque past 20%.
BNB:
5A, 5B, 2B, 3C, 623A xx 5A, 3C, j.AABB, dj.BB, 236B – 15.1 Billion Damage.
BNB with baroque:
5A (hold A), 5B, 2B, 3C, j.B (pause) B, j.BB, (release A), 10% baroque*, land, 5B, 2B, 3C, j.AABB, dj.BB, 236B – 17.9 Billion
5A, 5B, 2B, 20% baroque, 5B, 2B, 3C, 623A xx 5A, 3C, j.AABB, dj.BB, 236B – 20.6 Billion
5A, 5B, 2B, 30% baroque, 5B, 2B, 3C, 623A xx 5A, 3C, j.AABB, dj.BB, 236B – 27.6 Billion
*This is a very tough Baroque to do. (You really shouldn’t even try a 10% Baroque).
For some reason, the 623a xx 5a link only works after a 3c on a standing opponent…I don’t know why it doesn’t work with 2c or in a juggle, but it doesn’t.

Okay, check this out. I was messing around with that bounce ground pound Rekkoha and found a “Plausible, difficult, but rewarding” combo if you guys ever have a roll partner. It uses 3 bars but still does about 20k~ if done midscreen AND you get a heal.
5a,5b,2b,2c,delayed 236ab,DHC Roll 214ab,bounce,DHC Zero 214ab (Early to heal Zero, late for Roll, timing on roll is VERY strict but possible),(Hold A as soon as you DHC back to Zero),run up to them,5b,2b,3c,sj.,j.b,j.b,dj.,j.b, (charge shot LV3),623c
32 hit, 3bars
Sure they can megacrash it, but you still get the heal…
Oh, did I mention it lags the Wii like hell?
I’ve been thinking about this team as well. Air tagging into Tekkaman gives zero a nice boost in damage and gets him out safely.
Quick Q about the system
Does the game allow you to air tag out in the middle of a combo with an assist that’s been called already? Or does the game consider any action with an assist a one time thing? It seems like the last combo might be long enough for that to happen…
No matter how long the combo is…1 Assist and 1 Baroque at most.
If you call an assist before the 4 hit marker in a combo, you can call it again later in the combo, but yea. 1 Assist and BBQ. As many megacrashes as you want though. :3

thsi is the one I am using, its a little tough on the charge release and neutral - but Im getting there, this one Keits was working on at the Release party in NYC with us.
everytime I do baroque I get the assit popping out too, while sometimes its helpful othertimes it seems to hurt the combo because I use Casshan - should I be using a different partner with Zero?

Of course we know he has to get rid of the multi hits on the 5C and 6C but regardless it looks good. He was going for hits admittedly so damage wasn’t the goal here. I’ve tried this but got bored in like…10 seconds and went back to playing Condor so I have no idea how to time the j.B while falling so I can’t help you :(.
For the record I think Spooty’s charge combo earlier does more damage though because of the 214A. You guys mess around with it and lemme know which one’s the best for the corner. I’m lazy + I get bored of Zero too fast :(.
Oh and by the way, I think you guys should get into the habit of making videos…it just helps. I mean, I like reading notation just as much as everyone here but dam I have to imagine each hit in my head and it’s just bleh. I rather see first, then read… I mean it’s 2010 we all have cameras right? :pleased:
