i wish I could watch it, but I’m at work.
real ST cabinets have ssf2 roms as well.
ill check it out.
EDIT: unless for some reason this replay is desyncing or i’m using the wrong rom for playback, i’m declaring this bullshit.
Bullshit as in that glitch is bs or as in I’m talking bullshit?
I don’t think they believe you.
Well, I don’t know how someone could possibly edit a mame input, but if you people really decided you don’t wanna believe it, be my guests then
Which version of SSF2T did you do it on? What version of Mame? That could make a difference.
ssf2t (world 940223)
mame 32k 0.64
well given that two people so far have tried to watch it and seen nothing happen i dunno man…
edit: i’d ask where you got your ssf2 and st roms from, but, you know, against the rules
I don’t really know what to say…
I don’t get what went wrong, anyway emu is mame32 0.64 roms are ssf2 (US 930911) and ssf2t (world 940223), try it yourself
If it doesn’t work I’ll post naked pics of my sister on 4chan.
ok, i just tried it again (didn’t change anything) and this time it worked…definitely a reversal SPD from way across the screen, in ST. what the fuck…. i guess it didn’t work the first time due to the ‘random factor’ of sf2. now we just have to figure out why the fuck this is in there…
can you elaborate on this? do you have any idea how that works/how rom dependencies in mame work?
Any chance someone can put it as a video format everybody can watch ?
Can’t get it to work on my MAME
Ah good, I was really starting to feel like I’m seeing things, btw I just got it to work in kawaks 1.57 too if that matters
kawaks inp, if you can’t get it to work in mame. If this doesn’t work either, I don’t know.
Actually, it’s true.
There’s Super Street Fighter 2 ROM chips in the Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo board.
Capcom did it to save time.
yeah, i didn’t mean to sound like i was doubting him… i just want an explanation of how that works exactly
I hope this man didn’t get the neg rep for this thread. If so, someone should fix him up. This is a cool find.
holy fuck, it actually works, I just did it… I’m stunned… seriously…
EDIT: it doesn’t seem to work in the japanese version. Also before I posted i didn’t really have an opinion on if this was true or not. I’d certainly never heard about it before but I’m glad I know about it now
I’ll pos rep him.
2 green now.
It’s a upgrade board, just like SF2’ Turbo was for SF2’ CE, it’s not a 100% new game.
But the amount of SSF2 data used in ST is small, most of it is for the old versions of the characters and the game engine itself.
Because of it, there’s some glitches that are shared between SSF2 and SSF2T.
Here’s a list of SSF2 ROMs that ST uses:
ssf.13m
ssf.15m
ssf.17m
ssf.19m
ssf.14m
ssf.16m
ssf.18m
ssf.20m
BTW,I have sure that I’ve seen this Zangief SSF2 Vacuum Pile Driver Glitch in SSF2T on a video from YouTube.
Maybe it’s from that shitty conversions, I will have to find this video again.
the weird thing is though, in super you had to use the forward version but in ST you have to use the roundhouse version. I’m curious as to why such a small element would be different. And which glitches do you refer to?
