Zangief SSF2 Vacuum Pile Driver Glitch

Since this thread is here, which arcade version? I remember trying it a while back but couldn’t get it to work.

Street Fighter 2 Turbo… Or do you mean Japan, Asia, US, Euro, World etc?

Arcade Super SF2 only.

5 bucks say this scrub is trying to cover his ass with this online play nonsense.

hmm,

Which version of Arcade Super Street Fighter 2?!?

Us 930911, and you must use the Forward version of his 360.

Thank you kindly, good sir.

LOL, I remember using that in the arcade. Seeing the look on a Shoto players face after they just got slammed a full screen away after a blocked Hadoken was priceless. Yes it was US Super Street Fighter 2, arcade only (not in any home version). You had to use the forward button Kick 360 and the timing was very tough but deadly (and hilarious and broken) when mastered. And yes, the opponent had to be on the ground when you did it, it got to where Shoto’s at my local arcade would jump straight up after any Hadoken just to keep from being sucked in, LOL. It was a great way to keep Guile from sticking out C. Forwards as well. Also made Sim a breeze since he coudn’t throw out any standing long limbs without getting slammed. Completely broken and eventual an unwritten rule among all the regulars at the arcades I frequented got it unofficially “banned.” Still hilarious, though.

It’s in ST. Saw it again yesterday while playing as Ken against an O.Zangief. The person I was playing said he didn’t even know how it happened and it was the first time he had seen it.

don’t feed the troll guys

He’s seriously trying to cover his ass. If you aren’t lying start recording all your online matches against Gief.

It’s almost impossible to do by accident. Someone on the other side of the screen does a reversal timed kick 360 not knowing about the glitch?

I call shenanigans.

There wouldn’t be any point in lying about it, I have seen the glitch in Super Turbo a few times against an Old Zangief. I know its possible to do it in the ONLINE version of ST, I don’t know if this can be done offline, or on any console ports of the game.

That version of ST you play on MAME isn’t some sanctioned online version of the game, its most likely the arcade game we all play, so there goes that theory of yours… Gtfo. Quit bullshitting and I might respect you a little bit.

Without video this post is worthless.

and a blatant lie in my opinion.

There’s a record function on MAME version of ST. Record your matches and when that BS happens against post it. The general rule of SRK is pics/vids or it didn’t happen.

I think the online play might have something to do with it. Lag always creates random glitches and what not. Like how on Xbox Live in 3S a random glitch occurs where the opponent’s stun bar will randomly not go up. In CVS2 a player can roll and do a super and the lag will force them to lose a super even though there was no super actually performed (they did the motion before the game realized they were in a situation where they could do a super). The game understands that a super was done but doesn’t commence the actual super and just wastes your meter.

I know this is my first post and I’m a 2k7 dude, but I think you’re wrong guys, here’s a mame playback input, rom is of course ssf2t (world 940223) and O. Gief can indeed kick spd from the other side of the screen when used as a reversal. Only roundhouse version seems to work, by using short or forward you get the normal “walk up grab” (I recorded imputs of all three versions if they’re needed).
I think this may have to do with mame using ssf2 as a parent rom.
O. Zangief new mame top tier?

P.S.: I made this using a keyboard, cause I don’t have a usb stick yet and I had never used 2p side, so no flaming me for missing some fireballs please

uhhhhh…all i see in that video is ken throwing a lot of fireballs and zangief not doing much of anything…am i missing something?

I find this quite likely…

At the end of the round (counter at ~10) zangief reversals spd and grabs ken from the opposite edge of the screen, sorry about taking so many tries, but keyboard + not a gief player = bad
