I hope you guys aren’t sleeping on LP RBG at semi close range, if the opponent is focusing on spacing the quick startup on LP RBG throws them off. Same goes for on their wakeup, back away slightly just outside jab range so they won’t go for a wakeup DP and go for it, if they mash jab you have a decent chance at getting in between the frames as well. Nothing you should throw out 5 times in a match naturally but it keeps them guessing.
The startup on Lp and EX RBG is just downright scary

I gave up trying to figure out what was going on awhile ago, but it is true ya.
If anyone here gets paired with a Gief player named Anaconda00, know that he’s a scrub ragequitting pos.
Chasing people all match for hours is draining. I can see why I would get “fuck Remy” messages. Is this just life as a grappler? No one seems to want to play footsie it is a lot of hit and run.
Yes, it comes with the territory. Also, as a Third Strike Hugo main, fuck Remy.
Especially with the revelation that EX SPD can make certain frame traps unsafe who would want to play footsies? Someone like Vega or Chun Li perhaps? For everyone else if you trade with Zangief you’re gonna lose, we have more health.
So this “hit and run” strategy that I’ve been seeing lately is the way to go. The fear of getting scooped is real…very real. MUSCLE POWER!
So coincidentally I was fighting a Rashid and was able to headbutt his CA. I always try to time my headbutts with wakeups but this was totally accidental! Lol
that timed with the music way too well
Hey, didn’t I play you earlier? I recognize your name. I remember there was one match where I ate like 5 bear grabs, might have been you. My IGN is Gubbkeps.
I actually played someone in a Gief mirror where we both did the headbutt at the same time. We got the collision/nuffification animation than you usually see when you beat a fireball followed by a trade.
It looks really funny when it happens.
I just played a mirror match in which we both did running bear grab at each other. His went through, but I’m not sure if it’s because he did Heavy and I did Medium or because his started up before mine. I’ll test it out later because now I’m curious.

I would love to hear everyone’s thoughts on how the patch will affect us Gief players. Sorry I haven’t been very active, I got the flu real nasty, but I’m back now. And with a new arcade stick to boot!
WB Rich, thanks for posting this. Source?
Based on just this it is a buff I think. Seems we will get more time to St.rh and hit people jumping backwards (maybe quick getup meat St.HK attempt). Hopefully slows down the neutral jump game too but I’m not sure how much 1 extra frame matters, it does but I’m excited see just how much.
source is here with Alex screenshots as well, but the site bit it hard. Got the patch notes before it went down. There is more concerning modes and stuff but I just copied gief and matchup relevant infos:

Here just for funsies until the site can load for you guys:
Nice. Ranked rematch/sets is great. 8 person battle lounge is nice too. Just clean up the rest of the bugs and improve loading time next!
Thanks Rich!
BO3 will help us Zangiefs but since both have to agree to it it probably won’t happen that often.
Well I think we can take advantage of this change “All characters except Birdie and Zangief: Vertical jump and back jump frames have changed from 3f->4f.” Not sure how much is LP SPD dash but if opponent jumps back then its 1 frame more. Also can anybody break down the changes for tech trowing? I don’t really understand them well
I think they eliminated crouch teching since that wasn’t really supposed to be in here anyway.
