People want Alex outside of thirstrike so he can have a fresh start and not be bogged down by the top tiers. There was a huge wave of Dudley, Ibuki, Makoto, Hugo, Poison players During SSF4 and SFxT that you would think they were in SF2… they only start to fizzle when it’s harder to win with or when they are too technical to play with. Alex is a shoein for popularity for those unfamiliar with Third Strike. Cool looking blonde alpha male with bandanna that is inspired by Hulk Hogan will win favor with casuals definitely.

Gief’s moves seem reallllllllly slow. Probably are still working on him though.
On the flip side, his running bear grab is relatively quick this time around. Should be able to use it sparingly in the neutral ala SF4 Hugo.
That or he did the day 1 Zangief trick of intentionally dropping your combo so you can get an SPD in.
The only positive to this shit reveal is that PC Modders will make a Haggar model to replace Gief. So there’s that which is something.
