Yes, but Giefâs super is also a 0F command grab. As such, you can grab your opponent if they block and if they try to move. Consider the following blockstring: cross up splash, c.LP, c.LP, s.LK. You could tick into 720 after the first c.LP. If they try to hold up, the second c.LP will tag them and you simply confirm into 720 anyway. That is so fucking scary.
If you want to play Gief in this game, you have to be able to do c.LP, s.LK xx 720 in your sleep. Itâs such a good tool.

ill elaborate on any that you want to hear about but i went into some matchup specifics in the matchup thread.
Why are chun, vega and sim 5/5, and yet necalli is 4/6?
I only got mopped free by Phenomâs Necalli but I thought it rather was player than character.
Iâd really like to hear about your gameplan vs vega and nash.
Chun parry shuts down her long range buttons even if she thows a fireball(just parry twice quick)
on wakeup her ex SBK is 5 frames so easy to jump in on.
instant air spd beats instant air lighting legs and recovers fast enough that it is hard to punish.
Jab anti airs everything she has.
Vreversal puts her in a free mix-up just for attacking.
once you get vtrigger she cant throw fireballs so that takes out one tool.
On her plus side she owns your wakeup with frame traps and she does great damage on counter hits. Seems even to me.
Vega i have tips in the matchup thread.
Sim your cr mp beats his lights at distance. you can dash when he thows fireballs as his recovery is not good enough for him to block. His mediums and heavies take to long to recover for him to effectively poke.
instant air neutral jump ex spd auto corrects on teleports.
now for Necalli i always look at who wins at distance, close and sweep ranges. Necalli wins at all three. sizemos can be avoided with 6mk but they are still a hinderance. sweep cr hk beats all of your options except cr jap and the tradeoff is not good, plus he can do it at a distance you cant spd you just get a jab punish. This is similar to the chun match but one thing that puts it in Necalliâs favor is the DP, you always have to be aware of that tool. Now once he knocks you down his frame traps kill you.
the only thing that saves the matchup is your damage, you can kill him off of two to three punishes.
This character sucks ass, my blood pressure must be like at 200 right now getting bodied online
So close to dropping him and keeping only Chun/Sim, who are my mains since day 1
His V trigger sucks, his V skill sucks, his anti airs suck, his range is meh, he lost green hand, the running spd thingy is the slowest things Iâve ever seen in my life. His whiff animation on spds lasts 2 hours, ughâŚ
Has anyone started messing with meaty options outside of f.hp and lights? Watching that necalli video where st.lk becomes +4 on block instead of +2 when landed on the last active frame has made me start getting ideas. Iâm going to test stuff out tonight
