Ground EX SPD change was already confirmed a while ago by gwolfe. Lariat and V Trigger changes seem newer. Beta is coming up soon so weāll get to see more people crack him out then.

His upwards elbow move seems better for AA, specially since it crush counters, but I wonder whatās the purpose of lariat then.
i think lariat is just going to be a reversal with the way people are rushing down in this game i think this is going to be the go too move

When the beta comes out that will give more people time to actually crack Gief. People havenāt had a chance to really sit down and crack him out yet.

many high level player said gief is one of the worst characters if not the worst, some of them called him F-Tier, there are like 2 or 3 people who say he is solid or ānot thaaat badā oh comeon.
I think a big thing with the snake eyez footage today was he mostly played on a stick. He didnāt get the pad until later on.

So basically he is like Zangief has always been. You got spoiled by USF4, welcome to the world of a actual grappler. Go play any SF2, A2, CvS2, or CFE. Gief was never about combos and always had very few outside customs.
Iām not saying heās amazing, but there is pretty much a paranoia about him about how bad he is. He definitely will be solid at the minimum with all of these new tools. Considering the game is very button heavy now the amount of combos he can do is not that important. I donāt see that determining whoās top tier in this game very much. The more important thing is that there are no more low damage characters like SFIV Sim or DeeJay. Everyone has basic combos that work and there arenāt many characters that far and away do more damage than they other.
Play the beta and get lerned.
Even then Zangief only had like 3 combos you needed to know
LP/LK into Greenhand/Red Focus
Splash into whatever
F.HP into whatever
Tbh while i like newGief (even if i will have liked some extra trick, at least AtomicSuplex not removed) and i donāt give fucks about combos, is not that Capcom past didānt support some of that āparanoiaā
A SF char better start very good and have some possible nerf in future, than be mediocre and wait Capcom to wake up and deliver buffs Santa Claus style imho

Flying Body, c.MP, c.MP xx V-Trigger, Air EX SPD - (Full Charge V-Trigger)
Good job testing the cancelability of his V-Trigger. This already makes a really strong option and I am stoked to learn more about SFVās Gief!
I also share your opinion on hating Gief before we even had the possibility to test him out. I rather work hard with a char I love than cry all day.
