Well the season 2 update has brought me back after not playing for ages. Loving the new Gief. The changes suit my style perfectly, and it’s so nice having a more reliable lariat. Even though I’m a bit rusty I’m doing way better online than when I stopped playing.
When you have v-trigger, they literally can’t throw Air fireballs at all! I’m assuming that’s the same with Devil’s reversals, Knee’s and wall dives?

I think it’s to allow you to go to the casino, and bet it ALL by going ALL IN.
Except instead of staring down to see pocket Aces, you see LK Sibberian Express or EX Sibberian Express.
With reduced pushback, your closer after the Stand LK cancel, and your Sibberian Express will connect sooner and possibly whiff during their unthrowable frames after hit or block stun. The 2 frame delay on cancel should correct this. Plus, with +2 on block, the delay should also allow ticks into MK Sibberian Express.
So, hopefully, you will continue to happily gamble away your chips.

yeah but I recommend still trying to use cHP when possible, or at least mix it up, since you get better advantage from that (you can go for a cMP or bait a wakeup dp or other stuff) while lariat leaves you farther away and the recovery is longer
but if you even suspect you are going to be crossup, it’s lariat
Btw meaty st mp -> v trigger is 100% possble. It was possible on season 1 aswel.
Also you can meaty st hk -> st lk -> CA.

When I try to fight with 25000LP+ experts,
you are really HARD to get a Whiffed Knee Hammer>exSPD
Their reaction are too good for you to do this shit, they love to poke your exSPD out with something like Ryu’s cmp
For this situation, it is good to use Whiffed Knee Hammer>exRBG instead to absorb their fucking pokes.
Also, be sure you are close enough before doing this shit.
If exRBG is used, its too danger if opponent is back jump or V. jump instead of fucking poke…
Besides, I find “立回” very difficult now than in SF IV after removing of green hand… seems all is gambling now ~ha…ha
One more question, how to grap the ibuki’s teleport when gief in defence? randow entering the command or what s the timing? =)

The “立回” gameplay in SFV is easiler than SFIV
Imagine Sagat is throwing out SHK all days and you can do very very limited option against him.
Not only sagat, there are so many character can throw out just one button to fuck gief out in SFIV
For example, yun’s SHK, Hugo’s CMP, Chun’s SHK/SHP, Akuma’s SHK…etc
This bad day has pass away in SFV as gief has much better button game now, and vskill is very extremely useful in playing “立回” game.
BTW, sure i know in most 85% situation EXSPD would better option than EXRBG
However some guys really like poking out your SPD by random/reaction punches.
EXRBG would be good in such alternative situation. (sure, throw out your exRBG in close range only)
Actually you are most likely the get the same punishment when you whiff you EXRBG/EXSPD vs high level players.
