I wouldn’t go for another VT again if he doesn’t quickrise. Maybe just walk near and go for a meaty normal instead? If it hits, then cancel to the second VT which will give you the juggle.

It might just be because I’m bad but I think okizeme V-trigger is more something to use against specific characters where I feel I don’t have a lot of options to counter V-trigger or convert into V-trigger off of a hit.
Gambling with my V-trigger is something I rarely do because I feel like Gief without V-trigger is even worse than he normally is. Even if it’s just the threat of it.

This game is a total joke online imo, much worse than 4 which is pretty sad and pathetic. I have godlike fiber internet and the game’s still unplayable for the most part. People just jump all day and half the time I can’t even do a simple st.jab aa cause the timing always fucks up and then of course I lose half my life. Playing teleporting Sims, Nashs, Chuns, Kens, Cammys, etc are all 10-0 mu’s in this crap. It’s not even worth the aggravation trying to play them. I think grapplers are especially screwed with this input latency/rollback disaster. This game is so incomplete on so many levels, what a joke.

My favorite moments have been when I’m close to stunning them, then bam it gets soo choppy that they jump all the way back and so the meter depletes then the connection “recovers”. Or how I’ve activated super and it shows that I grab them only to rollback and shows them jumping in the air like “lol nope”.

What’s worse is that at times it gets so freaking laggy that you can’t even SPD all you will get is jumping jab meanwhile they other player can have there way with you.

Besides the shitty matchup online has been great for the most part. I set it to 4-5 bars only.

I do the same thing but at times the matchmaking will find you someone with “4-5 bars” and then that shit plummets.

My real complaint is at times it becomes unplayable in the second or third set of a match.

The netcode is garbage in this game along with many other things. We all know 5 bars means absolutely nothing. I only do “5 bar only” and it’s laughable. Reacting to moves like Kens ex.tatsu or Cammys ex.spike is damn near impossible.

Does anyone know the reason why kentaro does j.mk-cr.lp-st.lk-lariat instead of j.mk-cr.mp-st.lk-lariat? Im curious if it hits more or something. Or maybe it beats out buttons when people block the jump in and press buttons after?

I have to think it is for consistency. Depending on the height of the j.mk there may not be enough time to do the c.mp where the c.lp is basically guaranteed. I’m sure you’re right that on block j.mk as well that the c.lp being 4 frames is not as likely to be beaten out as opposed to the 7frame c.mp.

Nothing special actually, it is just my feeling.
S.HK is 11f startup which is 2F slower than c.HP, but it is actually fast enough for you to anti-air if you have a decent reaction
It really gets a counter hit quite often than I expected.
A 280+ dmg anti air is really threatening to opponent.
I will now chose S.HK as anti air instead of Lariat/C.HP/S.LP when both side have far enough space, due to much higher rewarded I can gain from.

I can’t imagine how horrible a mu Ibuki will be, it never ends.

I can land it quite often except some dive characters, like cammy & ken
Sure you need concentrate yourself to catch their jumping; just right on time their feet leave ground.
It s not that easy, but the reward worths.

Furthermore, even you can not get a CC, just EXSPD them when they land on ground (same as C.HP anti-air>EXSPD when they land)

Vega (Claw) also has a S.HK as anti-air, which can CC opponent. (same 11F startup as gief’s)
I often eat his S.HK+CC combo when I jump in.

Seems like every character released is specifically designed to tear Zangief’s asshole open.

Ibuki wasn’t that bad in 4. Now, with vortex being removed i don’t see how she would be a “terrible” mu for zangief. Sure she should win the matchup just like any other character against zangief but i don’t think it’s gonna be incredibly bad like nash for example.
