A Zangief OG won a big tournament in Korea. Go watch the archive on Spirit Zero channel. He played well and even beat his bad matches to include Sim and Vega. He never got put in losers.

Anybody has some tips on v-trigger confirm? Especially on flex->v-trigger. I can hit the VT button on reaction (it’s really not hard, I do flex->ca fairly consistently) but a lot of time the V-trigger doesn’t comes out. I’ve tried bind v-trigger to a button and even tried a macro that spams hk+hp. It just so inconsistent.
Explain more, the super not coming out or the flex?

It helps in situations where you know exactly the flex is going to hit. Like when you read a j.hk you can release the flex button and begin mashing v trigger.
Zzangmoo is the kind of Gief I wanna be. Just tick SPD, walk forward SPD like crazy.
I beat him last SZ touny to get in top 8 and he beat this time. Tears were shed. He played so good.

What draws you guys into still playing this character? cause i got fed up playing ryu after ryu who get’s to flail around his normals and beat me even while playing twice as good.
Zzangmoo played Gief in 4 as well. Personally, I never thought he was that great but whatever. I watched his matches and props to him for winning but he got away with a lot of sloppy play and his opponents weren’t exactly great players imo. I guess Korea doesn’t have that many Giefs. Still nice to see a Gief do well since it’s such a rarity now.
For you who plays ranked and picked up a secondary or new main; How did it affect your climb? I’ve gained 2000 points by playing vega so far.
I mained hakan since super, I don’t care how bad the character is if I enjoy them.
The stars aligned. He just is a OG doing them hard reads and those reads were correct. That’s how he beat me when he got a knockdown, I guessed wrong every time.
