No, because I did that and it did work for me. Let’s try it again. HOW DOES IT NOT WORK? Does the link fail, or does the video not show up?
yup the vidz doesn’t show up!!i click on a match and lines just show up man…
Go to the Computer Support thread in Tech Talk. Report broken links here, but resolving playback issues two sentences at a time sucks.
I’m presuming you don’t have the DivX/XviD decoder installed, but I’m not psychic and you’re not being terribly helpful/descriptive with your answers.
Actually, I too am having some problems with getting videos from you site. Seeing as how you recently added some vids, I tried to download some matches from EVO 2k2 and 2k3 (basically everything featuring Row, Rat, Kuan, and Jwong), along with a few from 2k5 (various). I usually try to “save target as”, but all of the downloads just now timed out. When I click the link and try to play directly in my browser, I get “The server at home.coqui.net is taking too long to respond.” as a response. I’ve never had this problem with getting vids from your site before. Perhaps something is afoot. I’m using Firefox, if that matters.
They’re (obviously) on a secondary server. If that server is a problem over 2-3 days for a multitude of people, lemme know - it’s generally a little more random than zachd.com , but I’m working out the ‘missing’ $1600 with my service provider and am not going to touch zachd.com much right now cuz $1600 is a lot of money to have randomly jaked. =\
If you think about where we were in the Marvel video world three years ago to where we are now… the half-ass solution Youtube offers would kinda prevent anyone these days from building up content archives like I did over the years. It’s interesting as a content repository, but the fierce limitations it imposes (quality, stupid tricks needed to download the content, commodification of content, content relationship/organization) anger me.
To put it bluntly, I think YouTube is long-term scene-killing. Sure it’s Web 2.0 or what have you, but I think you need some of the old-guard sites that are going to randomly host the B5 DVD or a Dhalsim DVD or that kind of stuff. So I think it’s in everyone’s interest if I hate YouTube. Do you get that? Because clearly I could just say I Ruv RuuTube and kill my site, converting everything to RubeTube, and save $1k+ a year. But I don’t think that’s the way forward - a world comprised solely of Youtube and Megaupload saddens me.
I hate youtube because people put up the gayest videos ever. I remember when Chain Hang Low first came out there were like 5904950495409 dumb ass vids made by white girls like rappin the lyrics of that song. That’s not tight. Why would you upload that?
Preppy, I believe its really good to have a few good videos on You Tube. There are many people who play/played Marvel (maybe at a low level) and don’t know about your site or srk. In the same way, there are lots of people who likes games but have not played Marvel yet.
Good videos on YouTube may convince some people to try Marvel, and they can grow our community.
I am not advocating to put lots of stuff or everything on You Tube, but a few good videos (Soo vs Wong in 2003, for instance) can spark some interest on MvC2, and interest coming from people who would not come here or check your site in the first place
^-- Define “don’t work”. The coqui site was offline for a bit. If the links are “dead”, that’s one thing (work fine for me now). If the playback doesn’t work, that’s another.
Since this is the fourth time you’ve posted and have yet to give any useful information (even though I already pointed out that you probably just don’t have the DivX decoder installed), I figured out the problem. Your computer is too dry. Get a bucket of water.
