They’re there, just hidden. I’m just making sure things are hunky-dorey with my ISP before I do much. Last month I got a bonus $600 bill on the 6th. I’m hoping that that doesn’t happen again. In theory they owe me $1200 anyways. =P

Does anybody else have PowerDVD 7? I absolutely despise their new skin (it’s really bright for late at night) and so took an existing skin and updated it with a background of Tron/Servbot pics. It’s not good (I didn’t have much 1280x1024 or 1280x780 art laying around), but it beats the hell out of the skin they give you. shrug
do you still go on the DC++ hub?
When I’m off, it’s because I’m uploading stuff - I uploaded a ton recently. (We recently got FIOS upgrades to our local providers, so I may upgrade to that from DSL, which should help.) So, yeah, I’ve been off and on lately. I’ve been on most of the past week, but getting kinda pissy about people who are sharing 0 bytes but downloading a lot. That’s kinda lame. Then again, I don’t have a better solution. =\
I was going to set up AIM file sharing again, but I don’t see how to do that in AIM 6… ?

So your comment puzzled me, I went and checked their site that day, and found out that lo and behold they had changed the front-end to Flash-only as you saw from the beta site. So that’s why I sounded goofy and unaware here. We’ll see what happens in the future. (I didn’t know what happened until a couple days ago, and couldn’t figure out what I was missing.)

I will publicly relink one of those first two soon, and I will reestablish the Requests pages on a Hidden SRK-only basis. Traffic so far has been low (thanks to Gandido letting me offload onto his server), and I haven’t had problems with my service provider. So I’ll ask them for some of that $1800 back. =P We’ll see how traffic goes as I slowly relink stuff. I’ve put in throttling so it shouldn’t ever be Captain Insano-levels again. :tup:
On a file access front, I’ll be getting FIOS to my house, so as of next weekend anyone on DC++ should love me a lot more. And I may go back to AIM5 just so I can get file sharing working again that way. =P
Secret edit: OK: Everything is back in place on the back-end. Direct links from any place that’s not SRK to anything other than the front page may be blocked, so I would advise against. I’m only blocking direct links to the Requests subdirectories now, since those were the biggest problems.
So at this point:
- I need to sort out the missing $1800 with my service provider tomorrow
- I want to fix up the Requests directories so that each subpage is one-stop shopping, and has a picture and bio of the appropriate schmoe.
Right now I’d consider this whole thing 3/4 done. Thanks for your patience. :tup:
