You've Been Naughty: Official UMvC3 Morrigan Combo Thread

cool, they’re pretty much the jumping parts of her combos. do you think morrigan could convert to the super jump combo off of dante’s jam session? you know, opponent super jumps on top of morrigan, use jam session, super jump, combo. that would be awesome. just can’t be done at the peak of the super jump.

Yep pretty much, nothing complicated about them at all. The SJ one can be tricky though. Chirp had a different one but I could only get it to work in the corner. As for Jam Session I dunno, it should be possible but Jam Session causes a decent amount of hitstun decay

mhmm- I always super jump around with sj forward heavy. Fishing for air grab, or hit confirm (because she like cages her self in that big surrounding) into light s.fist, fly, air dash down, heavy, light soul fist, unfly, land, jump m,h, heavy soul fist, fly, air dash down, heavy, light s.fist, unfly, land, launch xxxx :slight_smile:

p.s you’ll have to delay inputs in the first part of the combo because you’ll no need to slowly lower yourself to the ground so you can rejump and continue the combo but the feel will come eventually

idk, I practice Dante’s combo much more the Morrigan, and I do they with less success rate. Maybe since I’m doing the real shit of Dante, not hammer into cold shower -> Shredder scruby stuff.
Hell I miss more BC in natural game then anything with Morrigan.

Anyway, their technical difficulties comes from different places, so it what may be hard for one, might be easier for the other.

I still think Dante is harder8-)

Yeah, the SJ combo I do with Morrigan only works in the corner. I’m sure I could find a variant (or a better combo) that would work midscreen, but laziness and such.
Jam Session at SJ height can be combo-d off of, but you have to call the assist intending to do a combo. You can’t just press the button, ‘oh look it connected’ and go from there. Actually that might work, but it doesn’t seem like a very reliable method of getting hits.

But Cold Shower > Prop Shredder is always consistent, even off of awkward hits. Sure you lose out on damage, but if building 2.5+ bars off of an invincible, hard-knockdown inducing overhead is scrubby, then call me Scrubby McScrubbington. And I do ‘the real shit of Dante’ all the time, I honestly don’t find it hard. Maybe I’m just good with muscle memory though shrug
Not like it matters who thinks who is harder anyway, everybody’s got their own opinions about things. Sorry if I came off as argumentative or something, I just get bored at work, lol.

i still say Morrigan’s harder

I have more issues remembering Dante combos than doing them. My Dante is still ass though.

Morrigan is harder than Magneto and Dante, especially Dante.

Just since nobody plays Dante as he should be played atm (Shots loops etc)
Beside Yipes, I want his Dante as my own

Anyway, I find it disappointing that Morrigan combo with AV in the middle is so unpractical, 800K damage solo is so nice to have

I didn’t know dante could do 800k+ combos, or are you talking about morrigan’s AV combo? if you are talking about that combo it is better to do that combo that Izpaw was talking about, but in his combo instead of using morrigan’s lvl 3 just use another finishing shower, and it does around 850 k. Although i assuming that the AV combo is the combo that uses two bars right?

I am surprised that Izpaw hasn’t replied to this thread and giving the alternate follow ups to his combo earlier. A few days ago i msg izpaw asking fo his alternate follow ups since he didn’t post on the thread if you guys want i can ask him to do so.

J.:h:, Cr.:h:,St.:s:, J.:h:, :qcf::m:, :qcb::s:, :d:ATK+ATK, J.:h:, :qcf::h:, :qcb::s:, J.:m:, J.:m:, J.:h:, :qcf::m:, :qcb::s:, :d:ATK+ATK, J.:h:, :qcf::h:, :qcb::s:, :dp::m:, :qcf:ATK+ATK(mash):u:, :d:ATK+ATK,[follow up with Options A,B,C, or D]

Alternate follow-ups

B.) J.:s:, :dp:ATK+ATK.

C.) J.:h:, :dp::m:, :qcf:ATK+ATK(mash):u:

D.) J.:h:, :dp::m:, :qcb::s:, :qcf::h:, :qcb:ATK+ATK, :dp:ATK+ATK.

Option A is used when you don’t have enough meter do another Hyper combo.

Option B is used when you want to DHC

Option C is used when you want some damage dealt out [852k], but don’t want to use up all your meter

Option D is a 100% combo on all characters.

Edit: there are more possibilities with this combo if you have assists that resemble
Modok’s Y Assist, Chris’s B Assist, or Doom’s A Assist.

True. Shot loops can be finicky. At the very least though, Dante is EASIER to learn than Morrigan overall as a character, but the shot loops may be one combo that can be more finicky than Morrigans (though I don’t think so).

AV combos are so rewarding and so irritating. Also completely impossible online, since they aren’t even close to being entirely muscle memory. You have to constantly watch how the clone hits as well as Morrigan herself, and vary the timing based on every individual hurtbox and weight in the game for all but the simplest ones.

I believe it should gain some meter back with all the hits since AV is so early. But again, couldn’t connect it with regular starter (aka no raw j.C 2C 6C).

How much damage it will do of hit confirm (aka L M S or something like that)

Anyone got notations for some AV combos? I realize I don’t have any on the first page

Shadow Blade L combos are strangely difficult for me. Absolutely worth it though, damage wise at least.

it is a fancy combo lol. anyways for the two bar alteration the damage scales down to 810k when using J. S instead of J. H. I hope this answer your question. If not let me know.

i forgot to write about comboing off of dante’s anti-super jump jam session assist. i tried it briefly in training mode, and it didn’t work out so well. i could get like jam session, air :h: fireball, dash, air normals, fireball, and that’s it. i also never realized how much jam session scales. never realized it’s 10 hits! lol

oh well, seemed too good to be true, anyways. and super jumping+air :h: doesn’t seem like a good idea to be doing with morrigan. idk.

sj+h for counter hit combo @ the top of the screen is GOD LIKE. Its a great idea for a few reasons

  • os throw that leads to AV
  • air to ground combo that leads to AV
  • air to ground block string that potentially leads to AV

the block string itself has more options too. You can block confirm and throw L fireballs to make your landing better. You can also throw a single fireball, block confirm, plink towards or away from the opponent and even bait which is a god like block layer.

by doing 1 layer, it basically covers them all. The only problem with sj H crap all the time is that its hit box is rather small compared to other characters so you can get stuffed. iirc, morrigans j.lp on its explosion frame actually goes higher than her j.h just as a point of reference. When used properly, its more than god like IMO. I think its so good, I’m going to spend all day tomorrow in training mode mastering it so I can add it to my game.

just treat the fly cancel like fireballs, its rather easy IMO. If you can fireball, flight 10\10 I don’t think the input is much harder

a nice little trick I have is to do my srks like this, fwd+hadoken motion. If you can spam fireballs really good with AV, your muscle memory understand hadoken, flight mode really well so you’re kind of using that motion to help your srk, flight mode. I used to do it like this @ first just to make it easy and trick the game but since I play often, I can just slap it out anywhere @ will now

the only time srk+l combo starters are kind of hard are on small characters. If you fly cancel too fast, their sprite is so small that morrigan can’t make contact so you have to delay the flight mode a bit.

Practice on some big characters first like magneto or something because that shit is instant. srk+l, see the hit, cancel flight instantly. Once you can get that one every time, try zero next to practice the delay version. Once you know the delay version, you should probably use it every time so you don’t have to worry about which characters the combo starter works on. Its a one size fits all variation

For some reason I can’t get the dash after Meteor Shower on hit. It strange I get in consistently on whiff, but on hit I always get jB or jC (depends on which buttons I use for the dashes) any ideas?
