I’m really scared what Ultra THawk will mean for us, the speed of his condor spire will allow for so many shenanigans.
I’m particularly worried about strong THawk players who know how to use it just enough that we’re worried about it, since players who just use it blindly may potentially be countered by lots of preemptive St. HK/St.MK pokes in the neutral game.
none of yangs buffs really help in that match, and hakw got all stuff that makes him better. maybe easier to whiff punish spires with st.mp slashes than cr.mk slashes, but with his new speed on that thing, i dunno
Im ok with Thawk getting buffs but they really need to shrink the hitbox on Condor spire,Its hits Way Above Thawk and doesnt match with his model/animation
We should to be able to still punish Air Condor Spire with Ultra 2. Also far mp is going to be used more this match up to punish condor Spire when he is trying to get in. Need to FADC into Ultra. But that shit is tooooo Fast
yeahhhh, I tried to punish Condor Spire with Reaction Ultra 2 earlier tonight, but much to my surprise he blocked it. Condor Spire is such a good move now.
Best advice imo is to learn to jab tech . Unfortunately yang doesn’t have a good cr.mp to tech with and even though lp is slower the hitbox is a lot better for stuffing divekicks.
Also rufus is one of the easier characters to crossup.
I know those options, I suppose what I really should have asked was how to tech vs rufus instead.
So with yun i can tech with c.mp… But didnt really know what to do with yang. Im not the most experienced yang but its obvious normal crouch tech wont work. Ofcourse dping is an option but thats usually not an option I like to consider if I dont have 2 bars.
Ill go find out about jab tech and learn that, the jump back lp is also interesting… Thanks.
Yeh i do enjoy being on the offensive vs rufus and making good use out of the cross up.
I feel like rog is top 3 worst matchup for yang. And there’s more than enough of em online.
Any advice other than try to punish bad straight punches? I feel everything he does isn’t exactly safe but it pushes us back too far out of range to actually punish.
Jab beats ours, sweep out ranges just about everything, random straight punches keep us in check, head butt and crhp I think for aa’s.
Anything we can do? I try to neutral jump to watch footsie punches.
St. HK can whiff punish Balrog’s whiffed sweeps easily, I also like HP Mantis Slash but due to the motion that one has to be a little more planned. If the Balrog player is great at spacing the sweep at the tip you’re probably going to have to make some focus dash reads, it’s good getting throw mix-ups here.
I like playing with charged focus at jab rush range, it encourages him to switch up his rushpunches as his straight is huge focus bait. Speaking of, his straight is also another move you can focus dash through, react to his forward movement for that, there’s risk here, but hey, that’s SF!
