Yeah. It’s a strange time right now. New marvel and new Street Fighter are coming soon and are bringing a lot of changes. I’m just playing to experiment a bit and for general experience. I’m not too interested working hard at specific and new things because of the imminent changes.

I really need help on the m. bison match-up. I don’t know what my goal is besides getting him in the corner and anti-airing his floaty jump. What kind of pressure do I apply and how do I deal with his wake up game on techable and untechable knockdowns?
On techable knockdowns after light punch rekka you can dash forward and apply more rekka pressure or dash forward and dive kick. Just watch out for ex. psycho, if he starts using it a lot you can bait it and punish with roll kick/u2. On untechable knockdowns you can use option selects to deal with his teleports, ex psycho, backdash etc. If he doesn’t have meter you have a ton of options on his wakeup (cmd grab, blockstring, overhead, tick throw etc).
I find when fighting bison you can’t get caught up in a footsie battle. Mid-range is a bad place to be with Yang, it’s even worse than long range where you can at least react to headstomps by just moving backwards and throwing or nailing him with an ultra. Similar to Chun Li you have to get up in their face and mix them up and you can’t be predictable.
I’m actually less worried about playing footsies with Bison than I am Chun. Granted, he’s way better at it than we are, but he doesn’t get untechable knockdowns without taking a ton of risk to do so and his damage is just about as bad as ours. You should still be trying to get in his face, because we aren’t actually gonna win a game through footsies, but mp palm from just outside his s.mk range still works pretty well in my experience. Once he’s afraid of sticking his foot out, tag him with a divekick or just walk in. As it is with most characters fighting Bison, neutral jumps are pretty important to deal with random scissors or psycho crusher (which he’ll presumably go to to beat the palms). Just make sure he’s not looking for it, because basically his only big damage combo requires you to be airborne.

Cody’s LP criminal upper is -5 on block, so you can also punish it depending on distance. More importantly, cr.lk xx criminal upper isn’t a true blockstring.

you gotta use standing roundhouse a lot to stop that bitch from trying to spike and ex spike over your low forwards.
standing roundhouse will work like a pre emptive AA. so if you get your shit jumped, pull a bison and RH for a few seconds. come to think of it, that’ll prolly be decent against most dive kickers
