Works midscreen for me. Where are you having trouble?

It is mid screen? After the MysticSword L, I don’t have seem to have them spaced so as to be able to land the j.MMH, so I dunno what’s up for me here. And out of an M teleport, I’m not spaced so as the first impact palm can land after the MH at the very beginning.

Edt: The teleport part is a just a character dependent thing, i should have guessed, not spaced right to do it on viper and wesker i think but you can land palm on sentinel and such.

Also I think i was doing the sword too late to be positioned right for the j.mmh, so guess i figured my problem out.

Yeah, the teleport combos work from anywhere.

You can actually dash in a little before doing Flames so that should help.

Same w/ the M teleport. Dash s.M should put you in the proper position.

thx for the vid, it’s a solid bnb, unfortunately it seems my execution’s too horrible to make it a viable one for me…damnit, i played MVC3 for the first 2 months, then gave it up, and still expected I’d be able to play UMVC3 like a guy who wasn’t mentally handicapped when it came out…man, how freaking wrong I was… and I really wanted to play Dr. Strange too… :frowning:

Man these combos are good. I am also having a hard time connecting j.s to impact palm after the loops . I think I might just split the difference and go with (j.m j.m j.h j.impact) x3, impact palm, s, j.m j.m j.h j.impact j.s, vishanti. It’s a bit easier and does good damage regardless. It’s about 720k and it is less risky than the others.

You can actually hit confirm Alzarath’s combo from mashing crouching lights (up to 3 of them) straight into impact palm, even if you start with M daggers. You lose about 20-30k damage in the end. Strange is such a pimp.

This is exactly what I’m doing except add M Daggers before Vishanti and you still get about 750k.

Have we reached the limits of Stranges teleport combos?

Maybe, maybe not. Every time I’ve said “ok, pretty sure this is the limit of his combos” something else comes up…

So, I don’t see how people are getting air combos, doing an air impact palm, and then doing more Palms in the air. I am confused. ;A;

In my experience, it’s just reaalllly tight combo timing. IIRC Impact Palm gives a set amount of hitstun regardless of combo length. So long as the hits before IP connect and combo, you can continue to loop. I’m having some problems with em, I’ll tell you what. Labtime.

This was a bad character for me to try and learn Marvel with. I am not having any success either setting up the loop or doing it, lol. I am making progress on pieces of combos here and there though.

Hopefully someone will be playing a badass Strange in a tourney soon.

But what about hit confirms? Doing Grace of Hoggarth or Impact Palm unconfirmed is a recipe for disaster. Crouching H will lift them high enough for air chains after Impact Palm to Low Mystic Sword, so something like :d::l:,:m:,:d::h:,:f::h:, :dp::l: works (you can go into air impact palm loops) if you are right next to them. The problem of course is that teleport doesn’t put you close enough for that to work. Thoughts?

Is there any way I can get Strange to fall down faster after the aerial Palm? I do it, and I guess he falls too slow for me to land, then jump up for the J.MMH Palm loop. Also, after the first palm on the ground, do I necessarily have to do the QCB+Ms? And if so, how fast do I have to cancel the first one so the second one can come out in time for me to launch them for the loop?

I’m in the same boat. Trying to get into this game again, and Strange is not a character for beginners.

In fact, I don’t think ANY of the new characters are really beginner friendly.

Nemesis, Nova, Ghost Rider.

I’m getting the game tomorrow and labbing it up pretty much until I feel like gouging my eyes out. got some ideas for combos ready, hope they work lol.

ok I’ll go for the M daggers, vishanti at the end. So in your other statement cr.l l l l, impact? Sounds like a good deal to me. Im not to good hit confirming from 1 normal into palm :frowning:

I’m willing to bet palm works like that. I don’t have the guide to check but it seems to be true. Also I bet doctor strange has some insane loop with the palms. Hell we have already found a couple. The only loop I could think of would be launch, j. Palm, teleport, palm, launch, repeat. Maybe throw in a jump canceled launcher into teleport?

As a side note to this point, according to the guide, Impact Palm is -18 frames on block and Grace of Hoggarth is 14 frames.

1 too many l’s :p, but otherwise yes.

If you dash up before the cr.l’s you can get 4 of them into impact palm but with a little practice trust me 3 is all you need to hit confirm.

What I did to practice hit confirming:
-Set dummy to random block
-M daggers > M teleport
-dash > cr.l l l, if it hits then impact into combo
-if blocked cancel into H teleport, j.S, s.M, Impact, again if it hits then combo,
-if blocked then cancel into M teleport and do cr.l’s again and start over.
-mixup the teleport patterns once you get a feel for it.

Strange’s teleport mixup is going to be really good.

Keep in mind that’s only if you don’t cancel the palm. I imagine it’s pretty safe if cancelled into a teleport or something.
