are you kidding me? that just made FADCing a complete waste of meter. FADC mp/HP oroshi also seems pointless as you probably can’t combo into them and they are soo freaking slow, how many times are you gonna even land them. why would they do this?

Is hayate (blocked) FADC >karakusa is a viable shenanigan kinda like honda’s HHS FADC>ochio.

Quick disclaimer: I’m pretty decent at execution. I long since have beaten all of the trials in vanilla sf4 and have been able to perform any combo that I’ve tried to learn.

HOWEVER, until the frame data is released we won’t know for sure exactly what can be followed up with what. I couldn’t get the s.MP after hayate cancel to save my life. I tried a hundred times. Doesn’t mean it can’t be done.

I believe it should do 732 stun.

I’m not sure if the knockback will allow it, but if it does:

CH Neutral j.HP, s.HP xx Hayate Cancel, s.MP, s.MP xx EX Oroshi

on the stream last night i thought i saw n. Ax Kick, cr.MK -> or xx f.FP(triple punch)
…or maybe the guy just did’nt block.

in other thoughts, have’nt seen alot of cr.HK uses in the previews so far any impressions?

F+LK after cornered EX Hayate is easy.

Also, you can do HP xx Feint, cr.HP on counter hit. Trying to do it on non-counter hit but no luck so far. But then again I can’t really do HP Feint MP without CH :rofl:

didn’t some one confirm s.mp->feint->s.FP? so maybe you can mp->feint->cr.fP?

i’d keep practicing the hp >mp before moving into unconfirmed waters. keep at it, i know its real tough to get down initially. I only tried a few times to do the hp >lp feint and that was pretty damn tough on day one!

Well, fierce feint strong is probably roughly the same difficulty as fierce feint cr.LP, since you can plink :mp::lp:.

is there an established precedent for cancelling one special into another in a previous sf game?

In SF4 you can kara various specials that have armor into other specials/super/ultra. Best example is balrog’s ex dash punch. If a fireball hits the EX dash punch on the first frame, it was possible to kara that into ultra and not use EX meter.

Hi all. If you’d like me to help test stuff, let me know… or you can come on IRC (EFNET #SSF4REQUESTS). Some guys on the chan asked me to test some stuff which is why I put those Makoto vids up. I was never a Mak player before so my execution/muscle memory needs work.

I tried MP, Hayate Feint, HP and couldn’t get it to work, however, I doubt I’m doing feint cancel fast enough. I can’t say for certain if it hits until I get a bit more practice with her, but if it does work, it’s probably a 1-frame link.

I also noticed that after FA3, ff, FA1, ff, DP+MP, I couldn’t connect with instant Tsurgi. It simply passed through. However, EX worked fine… but of course you end up with the knockdown.

I was trying to get DP+P as AA (or in a combo), then cancel into U2 like Viper’s normals -> U1. However, I couldn’t get it to work. That being said, on paper it should work, so if anyone an confirm this, we might be able to get some combos into U2.

With that being said, I also connected with U2 after a launcher, but ONLY the first hit connected. The then just passed through them and finished her animations while the opponent stood up. I heard this happens in 3S if you press the wrong button… but I could never get it to hit more than once when it connected in air.

Again, it’s all first-day stuff, but hopefully this helps.
