on a standing opponent?
I guess my next question is, do the different strengths change your hayate cancel’s distance or is it based on the normal you cancel?
the normal
Here is a video that’s demonstrating the movement in hayate cancels. Credit goes to Mienaikage.

I love sneaking in a s.lk to hayate cancel. Gets you in their face so you can land a karakusa.
EX Hayate has some weird-ass properties against fireballs, and I don’t understand it. I was playing a 'Sim earlier today, and I EX Hayate’d him through his U1 (wasn’t intending to; was going for the U1, but my execution obviously didn’t work out). Now, on a random nico vid, I see the same thing work against Sonic Hurricane. I haven’t been able to recreate this in training mode at all, either against ultras or regular projectiles, from a stand-still or on a meaty wake-up (like Honda can apparently do now).
Anybody know what’s up with this?
Some ultras don’t have startup invincibility
Not sure about Sim, but with Guile there seems to be a small gap between the hitbox on the sonic hurricane and his body. Meaning if you activated your ex hayate while Makoto’s body occupied that space, ex hayate will hit. I’ve personally experienced this weirdness against Guile playing Chun. I did kikosho at point blank range trying to chip him out, he immediately activated sonic hurricane when he saw my ultra flash. Chun stood unscathed between Guile and his hurricane, Guile ate the kikosho, i won.
if guile does sonic hurricane right next to you, you can dash before it releases and bypass the hit box. take note to also hold forward after the dash or dash twice. Also don’t do this if guile is backed into a corner you will eat the ultra.
i swear to god that yesterday i did
c.lp, c.lp, s.lp, c.mp xx mp hayate
on dudley. i know it’s not supposed to work, but the combo counter hit 5. s.lp has four active frames, so i guess i hit him on the last 2 to extend hitstun long enough for c.mp? maybe there’s a use for this somewhere, lol.
I also had some similar strange experience against some Ryus/ Sims. They tried to backjump-FB and I did a hailmary ex-hayate to stay on their toes, no matter what. Thought I was dead, but the fireball went right through me while I hit them and knocked em down. I thought it was lagluck and never bothered to test it.
Yeah, Makoto has some very very character specific combos due to the various hitbox sizes of each character. For example, she can do combos like c.LP, c.LP, s.LP, s.MP, Hayate on wide characters. However, in your case, not only does Dudley have a wide hitbox, but his standing hitbox somehow has a frame delay on it at certain ranges which makes your combo possible in cases it otherwise wouldn’t. For example, Makoto can do c.LP, c.LP, s.LP, c.FP and it will combo on a standing Dudley even though the frame data suggests otherwise.
Can anyone tell me how you do double FA crumple?
it’s just practice yo, the second FA has to be both started on the first possible frame, and released on the first frame to get the double crumple
Where can I find info on cross up tsurugi? I can’t seem to find it.
Does this work as a simple reset? FA2/3 wait for them to be juggled by a hit 6LK dash behind Karakusa?
Yes it works, see for yourself at 1:22

Hi, I was bored yesterday and came up with a list of Corner EX Hayate followup but then I noticed it was already uploaded and I just wanted to say that for akuma, it is possible to hayate after the ex hayate. Good job to izanagisama, great compilation
I’m gonna get stoned for saying this, but, I heavily prefer c.MP over s.MP
It’s a nice mind-fuck, and massive style point get, but resets don’t seem as appealing for Mak if you ask me. Her combos are already so frickin’ short. I’d rather just go for max damage combo after Dizzy / Fa crumple.
