I’ve been to the point where I thought video games would pay the bills, I was even offered the chance to go on a US Tour bus for CS, but then got fucked over by politics because I didn’t go to a particular tournament and it broke my mo-fucking heart when that was the reason I got the shaft for the chance of a lifetime.
The only problem was they told me to get ready to leave within 2 weeks of telling me, I made all the preparations (Withdrew from school, saved extra cash, and spent a lot of time practicing to be prepared to show the world what I had to offer), and then to be told I couldn’t go straight pissed me right the fuck off. I decided I would NEVER allow video games to become a priority where it would be a financially unsound situation.
This isn’t so different, this isn’ the $1,000 I dropped on school, just to drop out 2 months later and be for nothing but a $1,000 experience. This is where people live.
I eat, sleep, sex it up, kick it, and more in my own home. I do not want the issue of someone being in my home if I can’t trust them to act respectful, it takes time to build trust, it takes even longer to re-build that trust, but to continue to believe that the scene is more important than a human’s well-being is just down-right ignorant. I hate using that word, but the truth behind all of this is: THE SCENE IS NOT MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANY ONE PERSON. It’s a group of friends/people who share the common interest of video games/competitive video games, not a place of employment where you have co-workers that you HAVE to get along with for the sake of your job.

I don’t think that I’m necessarily against banned lists but just the trash talk/cattiness behind it. I see where you guys are coming from and yes if you don’t like them don’t invite them. Perfectly fine. But don’t turn into “man I hate that guy he sucks I’m not going here because he is here”. Quite honestly though, I haven’t seen this type of beef in a while so I guess it’s not even worth talking about. Hell, at Zach’s the other night I saw Pat and Carlos talking, CASUALLY TALKING. That’s when you know things are right within the scene. I guess I’m just quick to say no banned lists because I get along with everyone in the scene. Watch BHM come to my house and have my philosophy bite me in the ass lol

And yes Mike is a very smart man when it comes to mentality and overall what needs to happen in the scene. But being a little more refined will make people work with you and not against you in what you hope to achieve.
Honestly, Carlos was right and it got old. Especially when the shit talking was one way. The shit talking (from me) was old and it had to stop. It was time to finally sit down and play.
Plus it helped that people kept coming to me and telling me to stop beefin’ with someone that is so hyped on this game. That doesn’t mean I’ll soften up on some of the other people that are gross though.
I like this thread. Gameworks needs to hold another tournament. That place had some fire in it last time. Someone with some friends/connections get that going.

I do NOT want people to think that they can act disrespectful to others, and to just be forgiven by brushing it under the rug, I’m not Jesus.

at a dollar per game gw can afford their own parts.
PLUS they get parts cheaper since they prob have negotiated deals with the wholesaler.
It takes me less than 5 mins to change a jlf. and less than 5 to change buttons.

management is the problem. they most likely have their heads too far up their asses in sales goals to care about the quality of their equipment and return customers.
Pat to be honest your presence had more of a positive effect on me in the long run…I got more and more pushed to get better and “show him” that anyone else since Mickey knocked me out of Preppy’s.
Also your demon quotes made me laugh…still it was cool playing you at Preppy’s and seeing how cool it was playing you and seeing your HUGE improvement…also with Eric (you’ve lvl’d up yer chun like crazy) as well as I like to think myself as improving…This game has a bunch of new people and as one of them It’s awesome to see us improve as a whole.
I think we have the hunger and he potential talent I just hope we can eventually turn that into something and make a name for the NW…I’m not very regionally proud but just being in the scene here for 6 months or so I’m gaining it quick.
