He have alot of anti airs and you need to know when you have to use. But the most common is b.MP
Go to the training and try some moves like st.HK, b.MP, st.HP, HK Ruffian.
I know, online f*cks your timing, but training leads to perfection.
And you’ll need to punish better some shit they whiff like those HP. Shoryuken from Dan. Use some long range moves like MK. Ruffian, EX, Ruffian, Crack Kick, etc. But you’ll need to know the exactly range of these moves.
You have all of those listed as “Private” if you don’t want them to show up on your youtube account but still want people to be able to view them when you share them you want to do “unlisted”
Now, I know that I need to anti air better. I was afraid that b+MP wasn’t going to stop a lot of Rose’s jump in approaches and I rarely use qcf+HK
Also, in the first game every time I used FADC in a block string, I tried to go for a throw. In the second game, every time i tried it I went from cr LP. neither situation was profitable for me so I guess I gotta stop doing that shit.
What are some pointers match up wise to maybe improve my success? Warning, I’m pretty shitty with cody. I’m a hugo main and the match up vs Rose is horrid, so I had to swap to cody. I like cody’s game play, but I don’t know how to adapt to my opponent’s crouch teching. like i see him teching my shit, so the next time, what strings should i use instead?
Here’s my Jank attempt of fighting Ryu on Vanilla and the hardest difficulty.
(Though It could have been nice if the game tells you what version you are fighting)
Don’t know why I never bothered uploading some of the few matches i’ve had on PC but i’ll probably start uploading more. Just a few sets with a friend the other day. Most of these are bad at closing matches on my end and just not playing much since Evo.
My matches at showdowngg. First competitive games I’ve played since about 1-2 years ago.
It should also be noted I was immediately sent to losers by Ricky since she was my first match. Lost to her Poison, beat her poison then lost to her Rufus. 2-1
Watched your match vs Adon, really loved the way your cl.MP>cr.HP punish was on point, good reaction to confirm f.MP on counterhit with cr.HP.
This adon was pretty unrespectful and you did pretty well to keep him at the bay in the first match, but then you eated too much crossups, I think you could use more cr.MK or dash under to avoid some crossups, sometimes you can hit them with cr.LK when they land.
I’m at work and didn’t watched your match vs Ryu, but overral, congratz, you did pretty well.
Saw your match vs Rolento, you looked a little confused in this MU, but generally, you could punish him better. Block his roll attack standing, it’s -8 if I remember well and stand blocking this makes him fall closer.
I dunno for sure if it’s exactly -8F. I know that in the corner you can punish his roll with closeHP so I know for sure it’s AT LEAST -8F, it may be even worse.
crLK - MK Ruffian or if you are unsure if the spacing still, a simple crMK will suffice.
If Rolento is near the corner sometimes an ex wall jump will be used on wakeup as it gets him out of the corner and it’s one of the few positions that EX Wall jump wont result in him simply just jumping right back to the opponent. Keep an eye out for the wall jump and if possible do a NJ HP to punish. A NJ HP will do the most damage and result in keeping him in front of you and thus in the corner. Other NJ options are good too but NJ HP is the best damage. I prefer it over a jump back jab because it doesn’t give up any space and staying on the ground and doing B+MP can sometimes whiff.
Good stuff on that Aquasilk match ManiacMike313. Seemed like you were calm throughout the entire match. I definitely need to practice to be like that against grapplers.
've uploaded more vids the ones with a _ between the name is psn. I uploaded the honda fight to see if their miss opportunities I should have done more.
