So, in other words, saying Sim is on the left side of the screen when he yoga fires and goes for the crossup tele, if he does the tele late, you block right. If he tele’s early, you block left?
Dhalsim does not really have many reversal-wake-ups. Inferno works on any poke, ex yoga blast can trade, but knock down a cross up depending on when they jumped. Ultra works, but if you are at low life, you probably should not rely on it. Teleport can work, but it’s baitable. You are better off just blocking on wake-up most of the time and teching when necessary.
So… Dhalsim’s forward dash goes under projectiles? How come I never knew this!?
EDIT: Shaky cam’d it from my phone, just to make sure I’m not going insane

Only certain projectiles. Ken, Ryu and Akuma regular hadoukens will still hit you but the dash goes under Ryu’s super. It’s basically impossible to do it on reaction to a projectile and risky as hell. More of a novelty than a useful thing.

I never can land the air.hp,Back+mk, lp flame. I can’t get the timing right for the last hit is there a reason for that?
Same when I try to teleport for the crossup fireball. I either do the attack to early or something.
Hahahaa yeah I saw that the other day and almost fell out of my chair. I don’t know what weird ass math they are using, but that shit is incomprehensibly stupid. I guess Sabin/Daigo and Mochi/Daigo completely fucked up whatever “weighting” they do to compensate for matchups, because Sim gets raped so bad by so many characters that even the thought of him being top tier is just
I don’t know about that man… Sim doesn’t seem to have an inordinate amount of bad match-ups to me.
Guess it depends on your experience against ‘X’ character. You know what I’ve recently discovered? I’m much more apprehensive about playing a skilled Cammy or Vega than I am a skilled Elf, Abel or Viper.
Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve been seeing a noticeable rise in Cammy and Vega players… and I’m not excited about it lol
A high level Cammy just demoralizes me. Once she applies corner pressure, I might as well just go to the mini-fridge and get a Coors Light and come back after the combo festival is over with.
I need more experience against good Vegas.
Let’s see: Cammy, Viper, Akuma, Abel, Rufus, Chun, all are 4-6 matchups or worse. Ibuki and Juri are going to join that list, I am positive of it. Then you have a plethora of very tough 5-5 matchups, and exactly how many where Sim is favored?? I think Sim overall is like A or B tier in this game, despite having to work so hard against so many characters. But putting him alone at the very top of the list? Ridiculous.
Them list of characters gave me nightmares! lol i hate fighting them!

ok i just read back the past 2 pages and i never seen the teleport situation explained simply so i want to try and give my 2 cents.
It’s a guess, once the teleport animation starts (meaning right when he dissapears, not when he re-appears) you have to decide what side he is going to end up on and then start blocking away from that. YOU ALWAYS BLOCK THE CHARACTER, NOT THE PROJECTILE (to my knowledge this is a universal rule in fighting games)
dashing under fireballs was also a random thing in vanilla.
After you have been put in the guessing game, you then can get sucked into a situation that you have to react (as shawn was talking about). Dhalsim can mix it up by changing how high his teleport is, and the position of the fireball in regards to the opponent when he decides to teleport. High level sim players will know when they mean to just put u in the guessing game, and when they wanna add a mixup after the guess.
True in some, not in all. Urien/Oro unblockables in 3s for one, do not follow this rule.
i always forget about that…so i’m pretty sure thats the only time lol (i obviously did not play 3s)
any sims going to summer jam? see u guys there
try slowing your b+mkxxlp flame input. that helped me out. b+mk…then lp flame. kinda feels like a jabxxdp to me…
