yea those are pretty much the options ive been using. but if you dont have enough life to block youre effed. im not sure offhand what the startup is on the rh blast but its really long. thats pretty much the only opprotunity ive found there itll land in time…and that will never happen in a match unless blanka is retarded. nobody just throws out blankas ultra at that range. they either dash first or do it to you while you wake up for chip damage.
another thing i noticed the other day is that if you are near blanka or are waking up and expect blanka to either jump towards you for cross up, or hop forward…you can ex up flame and itll even hit the hop forward out of the air. obviously you dont want to be just using this all willy nilly or youll get baited hard. but its cool cause it protects you from 2 of blankas set ups at once. i only did it once and i need to test it some more but i thought id mention it
I don’t know if you guys know it, but EX Blast also catches Bison’s scissors. You can reversal EX Blast out of c.short (x3) xx lk scissors (between the final short and scissors) and you’ll trade. A useful little tidbit that could win you a game sometime!
I play against a good Claw. He ususally goes for the Izuna drop but positions himself for the corssup Barcelona Attack if he misses. In this case I’ve found that the ex-blast is no good. Even when the blast comes out in enough time (opposite side) to hit, he lands the grab before it’s active.
ok so this unfortunately doesnt work as well as id hoped. the jump wont get hit by it really and the hop on wakeup is usually timed in a way where it wont get hit. but it does still hit the hop you just gotta pretty much be standing and expect it
hello all i’ve just picked up sim and have a fairly basic questions that i hope you guys can help me with. I want to know what sort of situations would be ideal to attempt sims IAT high punch mk yoga flame combo. try as i might i cannot land it in a match I always get hit or miss my oppurtunity. How do you guys set it up?
You can do it on people with predictable fireball patterns (providing they have the recovery, doesn’t work on Guile and Chun). Has better chance of working after you’ve scored a knockdown and got a fire on the screen. One of the easiest ways that I’ve found to land it, is slide under people who jump at you, and do the combo right when you recover from the slide. Most people have a habit of trying to tech, which won’t work very well if they’ve used an air attack, so you’ll beat that.
use the really low IAT for less recovery time than a normal ground teleport. like to get out of a corner, use low IAT behind em…then teleport back again or whatever. its much faster.
