"Yoga noogie that poop." Dhalsim General Discussion

I don’t really have anything new to say, just that the Dhalsim forums move slow as molasses. This post has been the newest one for two days straight!:wasted:

Well speed never has been in sim’s favor so I’m surprised you expected different from this thread. LoL

Not just this thread, the whole Dhalsim Forum!

^ Almost like your GP? Try adding something to the mix instead of riding other people’s d!cks. All of what you’ve contributed has been wrong and it’s clear you spend no time in the training room yourself.

ugh…how do you guys deal with pressure on wakeup? i teleport out sometimes but most of the time im finding myself blocking a lot until im either able to backdash out something or eventually fall prey to the pressure

U mad?

No seriously, what are you so angry about? I was just talking about how slow the Sim forums are. What is so wrong about that? My GP? Who cares about GP? I haven’t been online in weeks. Whose dick am I riding? Please enlighten me. Where are my false contributions?
:arazz::looney::wtf::rofl::rolleyes::coffee:

@NOV: Yeah, you either have teleport or EX Blast, which is a decent reversal. But other than that, you will just have to be patient with your blocking and teching. Sim has no easy way out of pressure, and he shouldn’t, considering how difficult it is to get in and get that knockdown.

blocking a whole lot and training yourself to be good at teching throws is the way to go. finding gaps to counterpoke with b.lk and b.mk is also great. once they get just outside your b.mk most characters have it quite hard getting through that last space

Mmm random online match meaty fireball on bison he reversal ultras i slide in fireball hits i get farthest range super for the win
carry on

Which slide?

lk if I remember correctly. after back throw probably. I just laughed and wanted to post dude was really bad

LMAO

Any tips against Sagat’s j. elbow move? I’ve found that if I anticipate it and walk forward slightly and b.mp I can stuff it but I’d really like more options than that and trading with b.hk. Is there anything I can do in the air against it? I’ve tried j.hp and it seems to stuff it, even when I delay the attack.

Also, is there any difference/reason why I would use hp super instead of lp super?

hp has great invincibility, while lp is safe on block. hp for aa, lp for chip

The startup time is pretty accurate.

IIRC, b+strong beats Sagat’s close jumping elbow, and s.RH is suprisingly good at beating it beyond the range of b+strong. You can even kick “behind” Sagat and it’ll connect.

back to the Blanka ultra for a sec…
if blanka does ultra at a range where the first low hit misses you, which is never cause they only do it in your face, you can actually do roundhouse upflame and hit em out of the air. then follow with an ultra and super. i actually start the upflame just before the ultra anim finishes and it comes out nice and buttery smooth.

ive been trying to find the best solution to blankas ultra cause the block damage is so high. so far nothing solid. :frowning:

Ive been playing with sim for a good while now and im doing fine against agressive players that chase me etc.

But I never seem to win against turtle players (like most Guile players etc), how do you guys go about handling those type of players?

You can take to the air a bit more against turtles. Try to bait with that and teleport and be sure to mix-up with sniper/crouch fierce.

I’ve been fooling around with his forward dash and found it to be a good option against jump-ins an your wake-up if they do it just a little late. Very little testsing but it’s been surprising me how easily I get out of demon flip and zangief jumpin’s with it. It’s really good to use if their jump is late but you still don’t have time to AA or if you want to escape the corner.

@ Boner
Roundhouse blast? Really, what’s the start-up on that?

Here’s what I do, and it all depends on the amount of life I have.

If my ultra will do enough damage to kill him, and I have enough life to survive the chip damage, I block >> reversal ultra every time. Even if I don’t have Ultra when he starts, blocking his Ultra will give it to me.

If I don’t have enough life I’ll ex blast which trades in his favor, but is less damage than blocking. And scores a knockdown. :woot:

And, if he’s a little too far away, ex blast will pop him cleanly. b.rh works at certain ranges, but I don’t ever like to risk that one.
