I use the euro version. Also ive done it for like 4 reps but is it possible to do the motg with cyclops like more than 4 reps for it to be an infinite? I did the standard air infinite with the Hp then as they were falling (I was already on the ground) I caught them with multiple lp’s I did it to the point where they were almost on the ground then did mp and it sent them up in the air, Could this classify as an infinite? Ill get a rec input if i can do it again.
yeah cuz im gonna read 22pgs of this! :lame:
ok fine i will! :sad:
It’s the 15th post in the thread(That’s what, Page 1 in default options?). You could at least ‘try’. That, or use the Search function( If you had searched for “xvssf version” you would have found the exact post in the first page of results). It’s there for a reason. It’s selfish for you to expect people to go over the same info multiple times because you don’t want to sort through other valuable info to find it.
i said i would! :mad:
which ver is the played by the XSF commmunity the most?
i heard in ver 3 Sim cant cancel is drills.
V2 is the most common arcade version.
In V3, Sim can’t do Drills right after he jumps. He has to wait until practically the peak of his jump. It makes Sim a ‘lot’ weaker, because it takes away all his rushdown and hi/low mixup.
seen some of ur vids nice charlie and gambit
By vids, you mean Match Videos?
Nah, they’re alright… But honestly, most of them will just teach you bad habits. It’s hard to tell in those recordings what was meant to be done, and what was done accidentally because of lag… And, what worked because it’s effective, vs what worked because of lag…
The only one I’d say to take as a definite example of ‘what to do’, is the Prozac vs loc(Charlie lockdown) match. That’s got some pretty solid, consistent material, with the exception of a few things. You’ll see a lot of c.roundhouse(connects) xx Jab SB in that match. Offline, I’d suggest replacing ‘most’ of those with c.roundhouse(connects) xx SJ, Air Forward Razor Kick(OTG) / c.fierce /\ Air combo. I try that twice in that match, and mess it up both times, because it’s not easy online. That’s why I was doing so much c.roundhouse xx Jab SB, which is a great ender to a block string. And, there are a few times in that match where Short Somersault would have been a good option. But it’s all good.
I need help with using rogue. Any tips and strats? I use a few, I’d post what I use, but I have to to go to school now.
A few guys here use Rogue, so they could probably help you out.
While you’re waiting, you can check the XvsSF match videos @ ComboVideos.com, as there’s some decent rogue there. Mostly showing off, but it’ll show you a few tricks and speed tactics that’ll help your game.
I just watched those matches. They were good. When I use Rogue I sometimes have trouble against my friends getting em into an AC. The combo I use for an AC is dash in LP>LK>MP>HK>LP>LK>MP>MK>qcb+K I basically use her S.MK and C.HK as pokes. As for an anti-air I don’t think she is that great in it. Then again I could be wrong. Its been a while since I played any vs. game.
I’m hardly a rogue pro. But, as a tip, try using Dashing-LK as a poke instead of MK. ‘Almost’ as much range, comes out faster, and recovers a ‘lot’ faster.
what do you want to know with rogue?
Hey Prozac, I’ve forgotten to thank you for the Wolverine NOTG combo description. I realized that Wolverine can’t jump up for another short because I need to pause for a split second after the NOTG short.
Now I finally got it to work consistently.
Wow, thirteen pages and no Cyclops. Would someone mind posting some in depth Clops combos (especially FS combos)?
Double jump FS combos are fun, but I want more.
cyclops is the path to the scrubside lolz
I thought there was a ‘little’ cyc in there…
Not a big fan of Cyc myself. He’s too simple, and too effective, in competitive terms, so he’s kind of a pain in the ass.
But, a little Combo Fun…
Midscreen - d.s.jab -> s.strong(Delay) xx Strong Gene Splice(Two hits) / c.forward xx Fierce Gene Splice(Two hits) /(Should land on the opposite side of them) c.strong -> s.roundhouse -> s.roundhouse xx MoB
-^ This combo is a little tricky because it’s weight specific(Works best on Mid-weights) and Fierce Gene Splice is a funky move. Sometimes, when you do it, it’s normal. Sometimes, he goes much farther horizontally than usual. That’ll mess up this combo. Of course, you don’t want to mash either Splices in this combo, or you’ll get more than 2 hits, and it’ll get messed up. Also, you need to delay a while after the s.strong launcher, or else it won’t combo properly.
Midscreen - s.strong /\ sj.strong, sj.jab -> sj.short -> sj.strong, /\ dj.jab -> dj.short -> dj.strong, dj.jab -> dj.short -> dj.dwn.strong(FS) -> dj.forward -> dj.roundhouse
All in the timing. The trick to getting the dj.dwn.strong -> dj.forward to link, is that you want to be on the way down from your double jump, and have them be somewhat higher than you already. Try delaying the combo before it if you can’t get the dj.forward to connect after it. Careful not to do dj.dwn.forward.
He doesn’t have much for FS combos, other than jumping loops(Try using roundhouse instead of Fierce, that’s about as much variety as you get).
One last one… If and when I do use Cyc, it’s probably my favorite combo…
Corner - s.strong(Delay) xx Strong Gene Splice(Two hits), s.strong /(SJ towards them) sj.fierce(Early), sj.jab -> sj.fierce(FS), sj.fierce, /\ dj.fierce, dj.fierce -> dj.roundhouse, dj.roundhouse / c.short(OTG) -> Whatever
Ridiculous amount of Fierces/Roundhouses. It’s like, 50% damage right there, without any followup.
j.fierce broke Cyc. Blah. He really ‘is’ the scrub-side.
That doesn’t stop it from being fun. Thanks for the input.
The idea was that it ‘does’. For the other person. Altruism 101.
I wouldn’t condone it. But, anytime.
The community college i’m currently attending recently got a XvSF machine (version 2, fuck yea!), and believe me, it brought a big smile to my face.
But anyway, i’ve been using a variety of characters, but if i’m feeling lazy i’ll play good ol’ Cyc.
Fucked up combo of choice at the moment-tick with either s.lp/c.lk, fp throw to corner, launch, sj.lp, sj.lk, sj.mp, (slight pause), sj.fp,(while falling), sj.fp, <j.lp, j.lk, sj.mp, (slight pause) j.fp> repeat brackets untill dead
-sometimes you need to add a j.mk in there depending on the weight of some chracters. Juggz especially.
MOB does way too much fucking damage…
You lucky bastard.
Standard cyc jump inf = yawn city, though. Go with the Gene Splice inf, for shits and giggles.
s.strong(Small delay) xx Strong Gene Splice, [ c.forward xx Strong Gene Splice ]
Or, alternatively, Fierce Throw, [ c.forward xx Strong Gene Splice ]
There’s lots of combos with Cyc that work on noobs though, like, Fierce Throw in corner, s.roundhouse -> s.roundhouse xx Bulldog(His Toward, Toward+Fierce+Roundhouse running dive-tackle-throw-thing), s.roundhouse -> s.roundhouse xx MOB.
SoB(His other beam super) air combos are good, as long as they’re in the corner. If you land a launch in the corner(So you’re both as close as possible to the corner), SJ into them and combo into the SoB, then aim it down a little so that it pins them against the wall. It should hit ~ 20, 30 times(As opposed to the usual ~10-15), and do mad damage, not to mention it’s pretty easy to follow up with a Double Jump into whatever.
