XBOX One will play used games. But you have to pay

Don’t be so sure about that. We’re what’s called a “vocal minority.” First and foremost if enough of us don’t buy it, and then there’s enough of a backlash companies will listen. These so called “casual gamers” that people love to talk about don’t go on forums like this to voice their complaints, but the ones that aren’t early adopters will happen across the feedback of people who don’t buy stuff for whatever reason and that will guide their purchases.

fuck no. ps2 taught me you never buy a system on launch. glitch centralll. i’m especially not interested in xbox:skynet…unless some drastic changes happen between now and launch hell no.

You know what, I’m 28 and my older less hip relatives tell me it is time to give up gaming.

The Xbox One almost drove me to think they were right. Hopefully they will learn from and patch this mistake because the lack of backwards compatibility is bad enough but the idea of not even being able to borrow games from friends is some new age bullshit.

Yea I feel u dawg.

But I thinking about changing my mind and giving the game industry my money to support the gaming business orientation.

I like the direction.
tv on console. Soooo sick.

I luv it, been supporting game industry since nes, but I think this the direction to go!
its time for the corporations take it back what we owe.

give it a chance, microsoft will know we luv it. Dont u all?

The entire debut press conference was aimed at my parents. Very little actual gameplay or gaming discussion at all, just info on how this would be some sort of central media hub rather than an XBox. If I want to get something like that, I would rather get a NAS from somebody like QNAP. Or stick with my obviously superior PC.

This entire debacle can be called nothing less than a blunder.

Sony should just make a commercial of them pointing and laughing. At a 360, the screen, random people, whatever. Winning.

edit: what’s the thoughts from the various third party dev’s? I’m sure EA and Rockstar and Capcom and whoever else, loves the fact that consumers HAVE to pay them a ton of money (and probably MS gets a cut, if I had to guess). How about the more obscure third party companies?

What about shit like obscure titles, or not common games? Dunno about you, but it wasn’t exactly easy to find some of the street fighting games this gen in my area. I don’t think I’ve ever seen some Blazblue titles brand new, for instance. So I might be relegated to buying used games and paying full price for inferior product, simply because the local Walmart and EB and Gamestop and etc doesn’t consider it a title that would sell in that area at the time? A lot of games become hard to find brand new years after they release. This is a slap in the face to dedicated gamers, and an anus puckering raping to casual gamers who at the very least deserve the ability to be introduced to new titles and genres through used games and trades and etc.

I’ve supported MS for DECADES, and this is easily the most retarded, offensive thing they’ve done in awhile. This is Monsanto levels of evil, but…wow. WTF?

Have no fucking clue what you’re trying to say half the time.

I watched the whole thing…and got NOTHING out of it to say “wow, that’s cool”.
I guess I’ll wait until E3 for more information.

^^01:39

sounded like backpedalling

Confused yet again…so the physical Xbox One games will be like PC games?

does this cause more problems or less for the fgc community?

Backfire sarcasm dawg.

The interviewer didn’t bring up the fee at all. I think that’s kinda important

i have trouble believing in the very end…its gonna cost us money to play at a friends house with our own game.

I like how they keep bringing up “yeah you can play on any console in your house” when you have to have your specific profile logged in. So if you want to play Street Fighter V, and at the same time so does your brother upstairs, he better have his own copy. Because you can’t both use the same profile.

the PR spin on this is horrendous. After the smoke clears, fuck firing people. Bring back the guillotine.

it also felt like they were implying everyone in the family is gonna have a xbox:skynet. im sorry we aignt all ballin and headin to the hamptons every weekend.

lol@ the idea they are forcing programs onto a friends system. curious what will happen if the skynet is full. will you not be able to play cause it wont let you download the “bits”…even though you have the cd.

I’m going to keep it real simple by not buying it.

I’m not sure they can still save it after this disastrous reveal, but there is still time to change things like in this current generation before it was released. Remember the boomerang controller for PS3 that never being the final product?

Aw man those things were the butt of so many jokes.

As long as there is no used game fee, and once a day online is removed, i am good. If not say good buy bye to my $400 microsoft

EDIT: lol

i can see the once a day thing only being required for certain next gen games that require you to update constantly or have some crazy multiplayer world. like a sleeping dogs type game…i could see that needing constant connection to online. everything thats being worked is basically to destroy the industry thats been built around the usually major 2-3 systems at the time. trying to kill 3rd party developers in terms of hardware…trying to kill gamespy/redbox/gamestop and basically we’re just the biproduct victims of it all.
