XBOX One will play used games. But you have to pay

See you online bruh.

I’d think the Xbones should be smart enough to know when there’s two of them in a single household

Yes, you buy the game, install it, and then you don’t have to use the physical copy ever again.

Can people stop saying this? You simply log into your account and play the game. You don’t have to pay to play it at a friend’s house. It’s a fucking hassle, but it doesn’t mean you have to pay.

it also implies your friend has the internet. not saying most people dont…but say you dont…i guess better learn to tether wit dat phone.

Then you wouldn’t be able to play the game anyway.

which brings us back to one of the big problems in the first place. internet shouldnt be a requirement unless its a game that really needs it.

You know all of you fuckers are going to buy this day one when it comes out. Stop playin’ and acting like you aren’t. All hail Bill Gates!

Nigga please!

Will the GIFS ever end??

No it brings us to the fact that you were misinformed on whether or not you have to pay to play it at a friends house and now that another problem has popped up you want to point the finger at that. Much the same as calling your pocket in pool, missing and hitting some other sick shot doesn’t count, nor is it a trickshot.

I can’t even imagine this thing at an FGC tourney.

“XBOX GO HOME”
“XBOX TURN OFF”
“XBOX WATCH TV”
“XBOX SNAP BROWSER”

Fucking crowds would make this shit so much fun lol.

What you say you is true about PC games from a sense of if you buy physical media but with steam I can give anyone my login details and they can install and play any games on it. Yes, some games have a certain amount activations but really this is few and far between and it’s not like you’re going to be sharing it with the world just close friends or whatever. Still just my opinion really.

Also lets not forget the steam box, that could really help pc for the console people that are fairly computer no goers.

Windows 8. Need I say more…

If the Xbox doesn’t have a profile thats on that system and isn’t synced up to recognize your voice it won’t work.

i have a.d.d i just go with the flow. aignt that serious brah. i was wrong on one point…moving on to the next. boom done.

A clear back pedal, but a much welcomed one lol

More in depth look at the hardware from Digital foundry.

So it seems that the reason that the console is using DDR3 is because they locked themselves in to 8GB from the beginning, unlike Sony who kept it a moving target, allowing them to use GDDR5. So, with the confirmed(?)5GB for games, instead of having a 1-2GB advantage over the PS4, it now has a 1 GB deficit since the PS4 only uses 1GB for its OS. Then there’s the fact that the ESRAM eats up from the silicon budget what Sony (assuming that both have similar silicon budgets) used for extra cores on their GPU.

Also has the first mention (that I’ve read of) of the IR transmitter that you plug into the back of the box to get it to control your DVR/Cable box.

The used game “issue”, is a ploy to earn developers money they would otherwise lose in the used market. I don’t see why this is garnering so much hate, as more revenue usually provides more for the developer to offer.
Every time one of you decided “Oh, X game is out. I’ll wait 'til it’s cheaper used” that’s one less sale the Publisher/Developer earns. As the used market sales go to the retailer, not the Publisher/Developer. (They only pay for the license to sell games?)
So judging by the amount of people complaining, that’s a pretty big loss.

I’m quite happy to support this new regime, hoping that at the very least, the price of new games decreases. But this is purely a “hope”, due to the fact that games are given to stores on a credit basis, so the prices need to competitive and profit for the retailer also.

After being a purchaser of used games for the last 20 years, it is saddening to see platforms veto the used market (to a degree). But I would rather support the developers, providing it was for a worthwhile cause, not just corporate greed (Activision).

I have expendable income, so it’s not a problem for me. But I understand the gripes of those with lesser income, or don’t wish to pay full price for a game they aren’t sure about.
Xbox One will most likely have a wide roster of Demo’s, just like Xbox 360 did.

As much of a pain in the ass it would be at tourneys, the first time a boring match was on stream and someone yells out “XBOX WATCH TV” would be pretty funny the first time it happened. I also hope that at E3, Microsoft opens up their conferencecwith answers to all rumors and speculation, where everyone can hear. Just to completely clear up all the confusion flying around

Interesting points made and to a point I agree with what you say about the developer getting the money is a good thing for the industry but A. Think of this scenario, you buy a game and you finish it so you sell it on. Well you can’t because that person would Have to pay full price for it once they install it. So ultimately it’ll kill the market. B. the other problem is that new game prices won’t go down. I bet that game prices will be standard £45+ (not sure of us prices) but at the moment it’s sort of £32-£40 for your console games in the UK with the upper range being your CODs etc. the problem is greed, they can charge more for new games next gen and they can charge for second hand games because if everyone does… its that, that or that lol. The only way it would change is if literally nobody bought them but all the console kiddies will eat that shit up.

Maybe, maybe not. It’s possible that the intention from the beginning was that every game has a serial number and goes online to check and make sure that it’s not tied to a system. If not then it installs without issue. If it is tied to a system then you have to pay a fee. If that’s the case then this whole thing makes a lot more sense. If you lend it to a friend/go to a friend’s house you just have to “unload” the game from your account… still a fucking hassle, but not as pants on head retarded as switching accounts.
