XBOX One will play used games. But you have to pay

I wonder how long after launch that shit will be implemented? Is this for digital games only or for disc copies as well? Right out of the gate the damn thing restricts you loaning your games to a friend and/or renting games…shit is just whack.

It is going to be implemented right away, its a “feature” of the console.

Disc copies are the only thing being effected, can’t really resell or exchange digital media anywhere else so no one was really expecting it to allow that (Valve has been looking into this however and if the Steam community market is anything to go by we may be seeing this kind of function there in the near future).

The Wii U going to win

rename it to Wii N

thats just it they are fanboys, they will keep buying something even if its going to die, even if it sucks, even if they waste their money. Fanboys dont care cause they are idiots

It seem like Microsoft is going to fuck shit up for gamers with their Xbox One. I just want to play a god damn game without having to jump through hoops and I want to connect online to play games on my own time not Microsoft.

There’s an easy way to stop this shit. DON’T BUY THE DAMN THING. Let it rot on shelves and tell everyone you know who has even an inkling to purchase exactly what they would be getting themselves into.

This time, it’s about more than just voting with your wallet, we gotta make sure every soccer mom and dudebro out there is informed. Don’t just sit on your hands, people. I know gamers are extremely lazy and unmotivated sometimes but this is the big time.

I know it sounds really melodramatic and overwrought, but its real. Time to draw a line in the sand and actually follow through. I hate to say this, but people should lose jobs over this one-- The PR department, the CEO, the tech geeks who implemented this bullshit into the console… all of 'em need to be Future Endeavor’d so that the next genius who tries this shit gets shook.

So my prediction is that Xbox One will NOT be used at all in fighting game tournaments. The online requirements (once every 24 hours on the home system, once every hour on other systems) would be impossible at weekend-long tournaments held in hotels. So I would venture to say that if you are a fighting game player you should get the PS4 because it is what all the tournaments will be using because Sony has gone on record saying it won’t require the online connection.

Disappointed MS, you gone and shot yourself in both feet

This right here. The average gamer outnumbers the hardcore gamer/knowledgeable gamer, they won’t have a clue about any of this till they put a disc in the damn thing. They’ll just shrug their shoulders go to their nearest Game to purchase the game, or ask mum to order it off Amazon.

MS is going to sell a load of xbox1s, provided they have the shit tonne of exclusive they say are on the way and it’s cheaper than the PS4 (with these specs it must be), I don’t think it matters what Sony or Nintendo do.

I am more interested on the bold part, if i understand well, this means that the publishers can also opt into not letting their games to be resold/loaned/shared

They just lost almost all their military customers. Can’t play this shit while deployed, TDY, PCS or stuck doing some 12-48 hour detail where you have a lot of down time like CQ, EOR or alert. Not to mention a lot of us have problems connecting overseas because of our IP addresses or shity on-base internet. I already told my airmen if they get this shit and I hear them complain about it they’re catching a wrench to the dome piece.

I wish…I finally turned mine on after about a month of sitting there, after a month of sitting htere. I have a game I haven’t even opened for it. Needs MOAR games, especially not made by Nintendo…

I think thats silly. I have a game not even opened yet for some system…it needs more games.

Even if the average gamer outnumbers the hardcore/informed, those average gamers still use services like Gamefly and Redbox to rent games and such mainly because they may not have the funds at the moment to purchase a game. Microsoft pretty much alienated those groups of people.

It’s because I have little interest atm with the game (Dynasty Warriors)…its a mood game…the system needs more general games. Most of the notable game on the console are games that have been out for hte longest for other consoles, not going to rebuy them. They couldn’t get Tomb Raider, which I would have gotten on there to be honest…Rayman aint out…like really what is there on the console? Zombie U…Scribblenauts has gotten play at my place…and everything else is a non-exclusive like AC3 or Batman, or is a Nintendo Property. Even the online store is assed out.

The system needs more games. It’s been out since last Xmas and it still fits on a single shelf at Gamestop. The Vita might actually have more games for it Stateside. I’m just saying.

Still silly, no matter how you justify it. Motherfuckers want more games and dont even play the ones he/she has. Gamers is whack these days.

Kinda confused by all the pro Wii U comments I’ve been seeing since Microsoft’s press conference. Even if the PS4 and Xbone fail the Wii U is still a piece of shit. Everyone is better off just sticking with a PS3 or Xbox 360.

Somebdy should edit the tombstone with the the xbone logo

But didnt I read that this feature wont be available at launch. Thats not right away. Am I just a dope or am I the only person that noticed that? Thats why I asked how long after launch…

Edit - Well, I am a dope but I didnt read that wrong. I bet anything it will be something like, “Want to loan your discs to a friend? Subscribe to Xbox Live Platinum now for this amazing feature and more.”

No, it depends on the type of game, where it falls in someone’s que, how they got it etc. I only got it such that I’d have something more active for the Wii U…Zombie U I aint playin with my kid around…or wife really, Scribblnauts is a family game, Nintendo Land was a freebie. I wanted another game and that was the ‘best’ I could find at the store. In hindsite I would have returned as my interest in it is admittedly ‘nil’ - it was an impulse purchase…not a quality one.

When the PS4 dropped I got kicked a few times for it but I stand by it - the new consoles are at least a year too early and this sort of shows why - you are kind of right. I bring up the Wii U because its still sort of considered a next gen console (I know I know). But the way things are right now, the PS4 will be an impulse buy from me…maybe Summer of 14, and the XBone will be similar…in 15.

Right now, if Nintendo is smart, they take the negative momentum of M$ and the soon negative motion of Sony and convince developers to give them money. (>_<)’
