Day 1 buy for me.
In fact, I’ll buy 2. So in this case, when I borrow a game from my friend, I can install it in one console, then have the other console download and pre-play it for no extra charge.
Hm, a lot of people tend to be taking the game trading news along the line of once you have traded a game with somebody - they are stuck with that game and are unable to trade it elsewhere. Sounds like fun, game trading will be serious business and will require serious thought! Almost like some sort of game in of itself.
A built in system means Sony is just as guilty. Hopefully some of the smaller 3rd party devs play it smart and opt out. I’m sure EA and Activision will make their Sony ports use DRM but honestly nothing from those publishers interest me anyway.
Have Sony actually announced that they have built in a system for publishers to use, or could this just allude to the same online pass type bs that certain companies have already been running around with this gen?
If it has been confirmed, that WiiU is looking more and more bloody attractive each day even though I don’t want a single game currently released on the damn thing so far.
Hmm that article smoothed out alot of the weird shit that came from M$'s reveal. Doesn’t seem as bad as before. The amount of people bitching about having to connect once every 24 hours is silly.
On the other hand, I will avoid the X1 altogether. Online passes were enough to piss me off, this is not about improving things for the customer, this is about greed. The whole internet thing is set up to enforce the new software rule, that alone makes it bad. It wouldn’t really effect me, but I bet it will others.
All eyes on Sony from me now. They have already confirmed the console is completely playable offline. Really interested to see their stance on used games. I’m quite sold on the PS4, but could change my mind if they follow suit.
I still see it as my right to sell Copy & Paste 5 on ebay after I am done playing the 6 hour campaign.
I’m predicting that the Wii U will come out on top in the long run, despite what most people currently think of the console now. I’ve been around long enough to know not to dismiss Nintendo.
Xbox, channel 5. Xbox, MTV. Xbox, tv listings.
Or watch a blu ray.
I’m pretty sure its all covered in the article. No gaming after the allocated time runs down. But its cool, because amongst the reasons for needing this internet connection available are reasons like auto updates for games so you can play straight away without having to update to a latest patch…
Microsoft could have used blu ray at any given point. Its all money to Sony who are winning by this choice from Microsoft. Sony also own DVD amongst many other firms like Toshiba, Philips & Time Warner.
I’ve given MS the benefit of the doubt until now, but it seems like the worst rumors were true. So it’s in the publishers’ capability to limit second-hand sales to only authorized vendors? And even if the publisher permits private transactions (aka “giving your games to friends”), MS requires that both parties be friends on Live for 1 month first?
Ball’s in Sony’s court now, as far as I’m concerned. If they do something similar, might as go PC now that console gaming has become this fucking complicated.
So…let’s say that in a hypothetical world, I own a XB1, and then my older brother decides to buy one of his own after playing mine during Christmas. I wouldn’t be able to loan him any of my games for a month?
So fighting game tournaments are basically dead on the XBONE and maybe PS4 if they do this same type of shit. With every copy of all games on every system needing authenticated accounts and internet connections and fuck knows what other hoops to jump through, it will be a fucking nightmare or impossible for it all to work properly with all the different games and setups.
No, not even that, until further notice. As of right now you can give/sell the game to him after one month, or just let him sign into his console using your Live profile.
EDIT: The page does say up to 10 members of your family will be able to play from a shared games library on any given console, but it doesn’t specify exactly how the process will work.
