“I hate arrogant consumers. There are casuals out there that are intelligent consumers” Well it basically sounds like hes saying hardcore gamers are all arrogant. Im sure not every hardcore game thinks the same as every other hardcore gamer. And not just that, there are plenty arrogant video game sells men also. You really want to know the most arrogant gamers ever are fanboy’s. When you come across them you might as well not even bother talking to them, cause you can prove them wrong about something. And they will not care, they are the most fucktarded idiots you’ll ever come across
Do you know how to read? I never said nor implied that hardcore gamers are arrogant. Casual or hardcore gamer can be that herpy derp guy that walks into a Gamestop and pre-orders an Xbox One knowing little or nothing about it. All they know is that it’s Xbox and go in blind. This is the kind of person that hurts us.
I have to do a slight derail though. Why the hate for Gamestop Employees and Best Buy? You guys claim to be the informed masses - yet act ignorant to simple business practices. True story Best Buy makes little to no money off selling video games, or computer software, or music, or basic DVD/Blu-rays. They are used to get you into the store to buy accessories which have the mark-up on them - hell they sometimes are taking a LOSS on TVs, but make up the cost on warranties and cables. Now if Best Buy is selling these items at MSRP and making little to no profit, then the same can be said of a place like Gamestop. So to stay open as a business, they HAVE to have other revenue streams - for Gamestop, its used items and accessories. If someone pre-orders a game, they get a more accurate count of units they need to have in the store - they don’t have the profit margin and buying power to overspend like Best Buy ‘did’. If someone puts money down on a pre-order, it increases the chance that they will buy the Brady Guide (marked up) or some other accessory (marked up) as they aren’t coming out of pocket a full $60 at the moment (the same way BB pushes their credit card because its shown people with a store card are more willing to buy the accessories right then and there, knowing they cost more, if they have a credit card for it, and are more likely to buy the extended warranties). So YES the employees are going to ask you about a pre-order. No they DON’T assume you’re just a herp-a-derp, but lets be honest and do some basic ‘overview’ math…how many units did the last few CoDs and Madden’s sell? Now compare that to SFxT. If I’m going to ask someone about a pre-order ‘blindly’ its going to be the one with the highest percent chance of them playing it…which wil lbe tied to ‘what sells the most’.
As for the second part, what are they supposed to do? Just leave you completely alone? If that’s the experience you are looking for, just order from Amazon. If you go to a store, the employees are there for a reason - to help you out in finding what you are looking for and to recommend stuff you might like. I get irritated when I walk into a store and no one ask me if I need help.
The last thing, anyone who is on this forum should understand this, ‘hardcore’ is NOT based on the game. Hardcore is based upon how deep into a specific game you get. Just because some of my friends own UMvC3, doesn’t make them hardcore, it means they like the comboes and some of the shit they can do. I’ll shit on Smash Bros without hesitation - and without wiping so Nintendo can tell me how my ass taste - but even I’ll admit that there is a hardcore demographic for it. There are people who play CoD and get steam rolled because they are purely casuals, then there are people on our forums who do the steam-rolling
Yea I’ve never quite understood the flat out rage people have with GS. When they ask me if I wanna preorder shit or renew my card or whatever I just say “No thanks” and that pretty much covers it. Yea sometimes you get that douche who wont stop pushin, but then I just tell them never mind, don’t want the game anymore, and I walk down the street to the next GS and buy it there.
Yo, there are lots of crazy fanyboys out there. I’ll say something about how I dont like xbl or xb1 on another forum I frequent and dudes get all crazy on me. Like im talkin smack on them. These dudes are preordering and been saving for xb1 and will be getting it no matter what. I bet there are hundreds of thousands of dudes like that.
That completely explains why Europe has more pre-orders on the XB1 than the PS4…it makes me think about how many people are going to jump the shark when “X” game is announced and they go all like “Oh ya day 1 buy!” and ignore all the issues with the console…smh
The worst part is that those idiots would only learn until is too late, if they are not stupid enough to try to justify to themselves the idiocy the lolbox.
I shall find that article where Phill Harrison basically said he didn’t care about the backlash because gamers will buy it anyway, and link it whenever someone who bought an Xbone anyway tries to do something the Xbone doesn’t like and starts moaning about it.
The problem with gamers always has been that they will chase that next fucking shiny thing no matter what anti consumer bullshit the publishers go with.
On topic, seeing I’m not entirely sure about the DRM situation, I’ll keep my mouth shut. Other than that, are people really going to buy the Xbox One? So far, it’s been giving people reasons not to buy it.
System needs internet once every 24 hours, every 1 hour if you are signed in and accessing your games through a friends console. Gaming is SUSPENDED/CANCELED/NUKED/whatever if these conditions are not met.
You can trade games with friends only, a friend must be added to your xbox live friends list for at least 30 days to take advantage of this. You can only trade said game once, I’m not sure how this affects the other parties ownership of the game you give them. Its a little shady there. I’m guessing they are free to trade said game? It’s a little unclear.
Kinect has privacy settings, which you can adjust to your liking or turn completely off. When off, the kinect only ‘listens’ for “Xbox On.” 3rd party settings may vary and will require their own privacy adjustments.
