XBOX One will play used games. But you have to pay

Not true. I saw one when I took my fam to the NC State Zoo.

Granted it had a going out of business sign up…

But it was still ‘open’ that day

So Bill Gates is Eric Bischoff?

I ain’t even gonna lie. I like the TV aspect of it… well that is I WOULD if I watched TV more than I do (which is practically never). It does allow a person to use one or two less remotes to do stuff. I also get why they’re hyping up the TV stuff… well now at least. In the future they’re going to have to focus on games, so it makes sense to make everyone aware of the lesser features now, but I really don’t see how these abilities are any more than a feature. I can’t see how they’re a selling point at all to anything but a small percentage of people.

What I’m curious about is when it switches tasks, does it save its progress in others. If not I’m gonna laugh so hard when the internet is flooded with complaints of kids playing that were playing Halo 5, set down their controller, and mom walks in “Xbox turn to channel 8” and his game is gone.

when switching, the game gets put into a suspend state, where game is still there but no processing power is being used on it.

I had someone tell me on twitter they were getting an Xbone after I went on a rant slamming them for what looks like career suicide at this point. The rebuttal of some of my followers who were interested couldnt give me a legitimate reason as to why they wanted an Xbone, they just know they wanted one.

So apparently people are willfully illogical about things based on blind faith and blissful ignorance.

Still, Microsoft wants to kill the used gaming industry, and casual gamers are all aboard? Lol. That doesnt make sense those are the main ones fishing the bargain bin at gamestop.

Other than the kinect being always on, I haven’t heard any other good reasons for not getting one

Games that check that you maintain a connection
Games that require you to be connected within x-amount of days timespan
Games that are linked to your gamertag, that have to be played under your gamertag if you for example: spend the night over your buddy’s house
Charging an additional fee for said circumstance of allowing a friend to borrow YOUR game and letting him play it on his system under HIS gamertag
Emphasis on watching television on you xbox
Less powerful than the PS4

A console launch should have more selling points than Call of Duty, Madden and watching TV on your console. That was the shittiest reveal I’ve ever witnessed in recent time.

I have told all my friends this.
In the worst case scenario…Absolute WORST case scenario…I will buy a Wii-U and continue to support nintendo and only nintendo from there.
It’s not THAT bad when i think about it either. Yakuza1&2 in HD? Bayo 2 ? I think these games alone would be worth getting the Wii-U for, when they get released that is.

But as i have been saying…I truly hope that microsoft dies and that Sony dosen’t fuckup with the PS4.
Read something just this morning , some rumor going around saying something like “Sony rethinking PS4 DRM” blablabla.
But then again before that (way before that) i read a article where Sony says “We are going to do the right thing” (meaning no DRM).

Just take everything you read online with a grain of salt and you’re all good.

It’ll only be a matter of time before Bayonetta 2 is ported to sony and microsoft systems b/c those exclusive rights are time sensitive. Usually only 1-4 years at that.

I wonder if Microsoft could implement something for reported stolen games not working on systems like smarphones. That would be awesome. Then it’ll be like an insurance policy where you pay for a replacement cd, but the person who stole the game now has a brick that wont work on his system lol.

That would make sense of the games that force you to play online or log in periodically. I figued it had something to do with constant error checking and patches but this could work too.

Things that don’t effect me, plus I feel people are making mountains out of mole hills over this. It sounds like people are suggesting the xbox might self destruct if left unplugged from the internet, or their save games will be deleted. I don’t think for a second that games checking for a connection is going to be a problem. Some people that buy an xbox may only end up turning it on once a week if they’re lucky. What if X is 90days, would you still have an issue with that?

Well they might not affect you but they will affect many people. I have several friends who I borrow games from, and I also switch out my ethernet between my ps3 and xbox so I’m not constantly logged into my 360.

I can almost guarantee you that ps4 will be tournament standard if you have to have the same game linked to the same login. There just no ethical reason for that type of control on your consumer.

You like COD?

Xbox: Stop watching me masturbate.

…I’m sorry Dave. I’m afraid I can’t do that.

If your friend forked out $400 for a console and can’t buy any games, then why did they fork out $400 for a console? I understand why MS wants to charge you for this privilege, it would be better if MS rewarded you and your friend if they purchase the game.

How many days do you go without plugging in your xbox?

Isn’t playstation the tournament standard now anyway?

Given the choice I’d pick Tilapia, but when life gives you lemons…

Actually the tournament scene is splintered a bit. I’m pretty sure that the main reason PS3 is even a thing at all is because of Tekken. SF4, and Marvel both run better on Xbox.

“Understanding why” Microsoft would do it and actually WHY they would do such a thing are completely different ideas.

No use in justifying the business model of making as much money as possible through any means necessary. Its logical to maximize profit but there should be a buffer on how bad you want to shit on the consumer. This type of thing just opens the flood gates for even more ridiculous things. People are making a “big deal” about this because its really a sign of whats to come if people support this kind of thing.

Like why on earth does my kinect need to be on 24/7. I hate for that thing to be staring back at me when I’m not using it.

There are anon hacker groups at this very moment cooking up ways to hack into profiles and activate someones kinect cam from your pc.

Because Obama.

Like I said, the 24/7 Kinect is the only justifiable reason I’ve heard.
