XBOX One will play used games. But you have to pay

DUH, that not enough games on consoles are on pc. How’s dat Tekken Tag 2? No? Huh…how about Kof XIII? No? Shit. Uh…DOA5? Soul Calibur? Scott Pilgrim? People want to play more that just mmorpg’s, f/tps, and the few and far-between offerings from Capcom in other genre. That’s why we have consoles.

Paying 800 dollars just to make a game look slightly better seems a little unreasonable to me. I simply buy my console, get 3 or 4 games i like, and i am set. I guess if your the type that spends 3000 dollars for like 60 sumthin games you will never play, than I guess PC saves you money. But i enjoy every game i have to the fullest. I guess it helps that i only play Fighting games, Jrpgs, and adventure games, so its not like the PC would improve my experience than it would someone elses.

All this backlash on Microsoft is karma for ruining one of the greatest gaming collaborations of all time, Nintendo and Rare. Bought out their IPs and did next to nothing with them, there was no gain, only loses to Rare fans and their games. Just to try to even the playing feild when they entered the console market. So I have little sympathy for whatever happens with the XBone.

But PC>Consoles mostly so I don’t have to rebuy games and accessories to keep up with releases

man i really hope sony doesn’t pull this crap. i didn’t even know this “playstation pass” thing existed but it sounds like the exact same thing that sony’s already implemented.

You’re reading what I said out of context. $800 is a huge investment and I’m not comparing it to buying a console used or down the line for $200.

I was saying compared to buying a brand new console which I assume both the PS4 and XBone would likely be around the same price as the launch PS3 ($600) which isn’t very far from what you need to make a PC that can play everything they can plus all the other benefits of having a powerful PC (for me video editing). Subtract the money you’re saving from not having to pay yearly for online features and through Steam sales and the price difference is even less.

On the current topic of PC vs console.

Yes, initially you pay a bit more but the online is free, you’re not locked down in terms of what controller you can use it is fully backwards compatible, games are much much cheaper and future upgrades can be bought for a fraction of the money.

This is without going into what a helpful/fun thing a computer is without games.

And this is before we even get into how a PC does everything the XBone (funny name) does for free and without waving your arms around.

lol gaf

Well, despite the backlash…MS has this rather reasonable idea that the XBOX one will be THE MOST SOLD CONSOLE OF ALLLLLL TIIIIIIME!

LINK

ONE BILLION UNITS!

Oh MS, you’re so LULZ.

Every console maker makes the same statement

Yes, but a) you don’t give such a far-fetched number and b) not after such severe backlash from the community in general.

i can build one hell of a gaming PC for under 700. Power supply would be the only ‘weak’ point, and even then, worst case scenario you won’t be doing crossfire or sli. Which isn’t really a loss at all.

from what I’ve read, this is TECHNICALLY a lie, and yet still the truth.

There won’t be a fee on used games, because when you go to a store to buy a used game, the fee will already be included on the price of the game. Still doesn’t change the fact they’ll be adding a HUGE fee on a used game, so you’re still going to be paying 50 bucks for any used game

The one thing that people never really take into consideration when arguing about price of console vs PC gaming is performance for whatever reason. If you’re doing PC gaming and doing it at 1080p (as opposed to sub 720p) for consoles then you are looking at having to render 2.25x+ the pixels (921,600 for 720p vs 2,073,600 for 1080p, even then most console games run at 600p) then you’re going to need that much more power which comes at a price. If you want a PC that runs games at 720p and 30FPS while still having access to other stuff then the price is suddenly much lower (can do it for less than $400).
Also comparing the price of a PC with new hardware that is multiple times more powerful to the price of a console already at a discount is apples to oranges.

I like Consoles and PCs. I even play on my iPod. I just want to game. Shrug

Niggas ain’t never heard of a book

Niggas assume because we talk about video games on a video game forum we don’t read, but I got tons of books. Step off.

I’ll have you know I’ve read ALL the Halo books thank you very much.

Can you port console game code? It’s nice you can build an affordable rig. I did it for just 430. But well…ain’t shit out there on pc I want to play (Now that I had my way with DMC4). So what’s the point? PC doesn’t have enough games that are on console to be a threat to consoles.

This makes it bad for low income gamers.

I buy a game, I play it, my friend who i trust enough, I let him borrow it, and I borrow a game he has bought that i don’t have.

We share the game.

I play greatness, he plays greatness. We laugh and enjoy two games for the price of one.

This copyright bullshit over code is fucking stupid, which it all stems from. Publishers, and even console developers have gotten so far on the deep end, that they have made it clear that the console in which you play does not belong to you. Thus you can’t modify it.

Next generation, there will be one profile per console. And there will be a next generation also.

At this point, I am at the point where I will pirate mostly if not everything when that comes out.

Actually KoFXIII is rumored to be coming to PC via Steam if I remember right. Too little too late, but that’s the word on the street.

Between emulation (we DO pretty much have the history of gaming available to us for free online) and some of the stuff I know is coming out on PC (Konami putting out Lords Of Shadow 2 on PC, thank dog!) I’m set. I like my PS3, but this news doesn’t phase me in the least. Unless I get a next gen console free like I did my PS3, I likely won’t ever lay a hand on one.

But this is all just MS nickel and diming folks because they think they can get away with it; corporate greed. Big companies make policies like this all the time thinking the gravy train is going to last forever, but look at what happened to the music industry. Eventually that’s going to happen to the game industry and I can already see it coming on the horizon.

The PC has and lacks exclusives just like any other system. You also can’t get sports games except for the NBA2K series which 2K doesn’t really support. In some ways even the console version of that is superior.
