Interest in the nfl is increasing in south america. it will never be as huge as soccer but at least people know when the superbowl is. 10 years ago absolutely no-one gave a shit.
It’s still super niche around the works though…no one gives 0 shits about the NFL outside USA. M$ just spend hundreds of millions of dollars on the 10th most popular sport in the works…good work lol.
I got into an argument with Melty Blood dudes over this but apparently PC fighting game tournaments are super hard to do. Despite LAN parties and tournaments being a thing since Quake 1. The one argument that I would agree with is that it’s difficult to get the controllers from each player working on a PC because of driver issues.
The more that this news sits with me the more it seems highly likely that Sony will be doing the same thing. I read some articles, some from February and some from a few days ago, both sets with quotes from Shuhei Yoshida. The guy hasn’t given one straight answer in multiple attempts. That is worrying. More worrying is the fact that on multiple occasions he speaks about reaching a middle ground between developers and consumers.
The only reason I really give a shit is because with something like this, where does it end? Your bluray movies will be next. There is talk of wanting to monetize the internet similar to how mobile phone operators operate with eachother etc etc.
Yeah i could see Sony pulling this too in some way. I don’t see why they should after all this backlash though. A better bet would be to push direct downloads alongside physical and sell them at a cut from physical right off the bat. Making the message that if you buy digital then you can get your games cheaper.
Yo fuck an Xbox one simply for the fact that I went through 3 or 4 RROD’s with the 360 AND have had to replace every one of my god damned controllers. Shitty product, the next will be too.
The worst part about the topic at hand is, now buying a used game will only save you like five bucks.
Imagine that. You walk into gamestop and a brand new game is $60; a used copy, $55. What kind of broke-ass crackhead would opt for the used copy, in that case? Good luck, Gamestop.
