I hope the move to a High capacity disk lets people pump more stuff into a game…
getting like 30-40 hours from a single player FPS would be awesome… not a bioshock

That wont happen you know. I personally feel the return to shorter games (Around the 10 to 20 hour marks) has been one of the best things to happen to them in a while.
a lot of it has to do with online stuff being king right now and SINGLE player being THE BONUS, lol

high capacity dick could always be lurkin

Of course its not greedy to not want to buy something if you feel it is overpriced for you personally. If you claim this was what you said, you woudl be doing a bit of backtracking (and of course if the something continually makes the seller a desirable profit well into the future you would have to admit that the merchant did not overprice).
Actually, what you said was crystal clear. You said that the merchants are bad because they probed the market to see if there was sustained demand at $10 higher prices, and then adjusted prices according to demand. Understanding the reciprocal system at work in this case, your argument couldnt stand on its own, so you followed up by calling the people who create the demand for the products at these +$10 prices a number of expletives. Your post was followed by a bunch of posters following your lead bashing business, apparently unaware of how it operates (even though Im always the sheep despite consistently being alone in a sea of otherwise unanimity hahaa). Then I explained why I thought that cynically blaming the whole system is myopic and misguided: Rather than express frustration at your own situation (which is really what this boils down to), an indignant sense of entitlement led you to believe that millions and millions of customers desires mustbe invalidated, which is whyyou attacked them along with bashing companies that are giving the masses what they want.
One question, hubcapsignstop.
Do you actually believe what you just wrote to be an accurate representation of my assertions, and of reality in general?

Why do they call it the Xbox 720?
Because you spin 720 degrees and puke on the console.
This presumes your ability to afford food, after taking out a mortgage to buy that puppy.
Quit your job and get a career.
Probably won’t be named 720… just call that for now.
so you are defending greed and ignorance because its packaged under the false notion of free market, capitalism, and demand and supply. All of which are irrelevant or near non-existent in today’s economy? Its not cynical to blame the system, when the system has showed time and time again that it doesn’t give a fuck about quality, nor the consumer. Its not cynical to call the majority of consumers stupid, because that is what they truly are. Today’s mainstream gamers = Apple hipster faggots. You also go and make the point, whether its intentional or not, that the millions of cluster fucks are in the right and are justified in their action, which equate to us who want quality products, to get fucked harder than those lanky Asian bitches in porn.
But Nintendo hasn’t created a quality game in a while. If its any good, its spoiled by that gimmick bullshit
It does not surprise me that the 720 would have a anti-used games feature. Though it may have been rumored for the PS3 before its release, chances are the costs for adding this feature would have increased for building the PS3. Not to mention that the technology to do so may not have been veiwed by the developers as stable. If Microsoft has found the way to do so, than you should expect them to do so. Truth of the matter though is that the gaming companies have been dealing with the used game business as it eats away at there income. It is no secret that these companies do not veiw the used games issue with much optimism. So you get something like this. However that’s business for you and you can jump on these companies ass for doing stuff like this, but at the end of the day there about the Benjamin’s and your opinion won’t matter if it ain’t going to make them dollars. If option A will make less money then option B, you best damn belive they will go for B.
I admit that such a feature sucks b/c I trade in games at the GameStop all the time. It was only a matter of time till such a thing would be implemented. Guess that if I decide to buy a 720 I will have to get used to keeping all my games.
hahaa
you could make the case that we dont live in a truly free market (free markets being driven by an innate desire to better one’s life; aka greed?), but that is not what we are discussing here. This case is a very simple clear-cut example of unmolested supply and demand regarding video games. Are you guys arguing for price fixing?
You said that the system doesnt care about about quality, but the consumer component obviously always takes it into account. If a company proves again and again it cant make a product people want it goes out of business or get propped up by the govt. Maybe you could give me specific examples that you are refferring to? Just compare many products born from competitive pressures to analogous ones from corporatist regime scenarios (USPO, Trabant, etc).
As far as attacking the consumers’ desires; Who is to say they are objectively wrong (as opposed to you)? You can make any number of poor arguments to claim that the reasons for which they like something makes their desires inferior. However, the reasons why people like (or dislike) something often comes from an innumerable amount of subjective factors often subconscious and/or individually negligible, so thats not really a game that is worth playing. Also youre not really making any coherent points that arent centered around vague hyperbole or childish attacks. Youre just whining. Make an adult, informed decision (or become involved in the industry), and dont blame everybody else when your gaming desires arent specifically catered to.
Hahaa. We are talking about video games son.
I remember one time complaining about the quality of in class discussion during my undergrad career. In not so many words he said “shitty undergrads, go get a masters.”
