LULZ x-23 can cancel her teleport mirage feints into talons. Shes got her own beserker slash now. We no longer need an assist + teleport.

So how’s everyone’s day 1 teams so far? My team has soooo much synergy goddamn, and I’m loving Clint’s assist. I’m trying to get X23 in that talon dive > crescent scythe > L Talon in combos down. Also, it looks like Nova Dive Kick causes enough block stun to sneak in a dirt nap. Right now I’m liking that over the Reflector assist (confirmed overhead properties also)
x23/dante/vergil is also pretty good. You can OTG ankle slice into those rapid slashes.
I accidentally got something to that effect. I was wondering wtf happened. That could be sooo dirty. Only thing against it is that there seem to be some complications when it comes to doing it in the corner, but seeing as it’s the corner, there are other options.
I suppose she can cancel out of her command grab while she’s still in the air as well. Can anyone confirm?

Small discovery from earlier today: Air Scythe has a lot of minimum hitstun - which means if you can get a realaunch, even after a pretty long combo, launcher, sj.H xx L-CS xx L-talon will still work. X-23 may be the only character in the game whose combo’s got longer, lol.
(X-23 for top tier!.. now I just need to find a replacement for poor, poor Tron…)

Picked up the game today and sat in training room for a few hours messing around. Best no assist, no meter, no xfactor combos I’ve found that I can execute consistently:
M(1 hit) H xx H Mirage Feint, j.MH, L Talon Attack, M(1 hit) H xx H Mirage Feint, j.MH, L Crescent Scythe xx L Talon Attack, MHS, SJ, j.MMH, H Crescent Scythe xx L Talon Attack, OTG Ankle Slicer. 499,000 damage, builds one meter on the last Talon Attack. You want to time the MHS to hit as close to the ground as possible, otherwise you only get one M in the air and lose about 28,000 damage.
j. Down+H xx L Crescent Scythe*, L Talon Attack, M(1 hit) H xx H Mirage Feint, j.MH, L Crescent Scythe xx L Talon Attack, MHS, SJ, j.MH, H Crescent Scythe xx L Talon Attack, OTG Ankle Slice. 534,000 damage, builds one meter.
- If you have the opponent cornered L Crescent Scythe seems to be more reliable at the beginning. If you are cornered or at mid-screen, M Crescent Scythe seems to be more reliable, but you get a little less damage (517,000).
The second combo is definitely harder to pull off, and it does a little more damage for a little less meter building. So it’s really only worth it for the overhead.

canceling feints into dive is too funny… so awesome. even works out of L feint… time to perfect autocorrecting ambiguous dives out of M feint. too slow to be a berserker slash that works on its own, maybe. just makes her that much scarier with assists though…

Edit: She can’t cancel Decapitating Slice into Talon Attack. I tried it several times and it just doesn’t work. I guess she’s still considered to be on the “ground.”

Still don’t like that her health is down to 830k from 880k. Didn’t think it would be that noticeable but she drops dead pretty quickly haha.

Guide has errors on her. She always had 830k and dirtnap did NOT have a 100k damage boost. If it did that would be godlike.
I’m really digging the Crescent Scythe into Talon Attack changes, been really trying to figure out some setups since Thursday… and the capabilities for crossups (granted they don’t pushblock) can be really high. You can always adjust to opponents who pushblock well, and do a heavy Talon, and use the vertical range to get back down and back into their face.
Also, the “New Testament” says she got an extra 100k on Silent Kill… I was disappointed when I checked this and it’s not true.
Speaking of Silent Kill, did anyone notice that is throws the opponent back much further? I can’t do my dash forward, OTG with Dormammu assist and get it to land outside of the corner. Could just be me.

Shadow nerf: you can’t dash through opponents while they’re teching (a la Tatsu) as easily anymore. Still works to a certain extent, but the timing is much tighter, and probably doesn’t work at all on large characters anymore. I guess M-feint being cancellable makes up for that.
Anyone feel like collision boxes in general have been tweaked in this game?
magneto can still duck under decap slice, which is fkn lame.
You just have to use it from a range against smaller characters (call assist first to stay safe on whiff). Once you get close to Magneto he’s done any ways. X-23’s normals are better than his in the close range and instant talon dive cross ups will wreck him at that range.

Been messing around with the M mirage feint some more. Still haven’t gotten it to work in the corner but found interesting results at different spacings. There is of course the crossing or not crossing up, but there was one case where I honestly don’t know which side it hits on yet. She appears to execute a cross-up talon attack, land on the original side she started, then can continue to combo. Have yet to rigorously test it. It was just a big WTF moment when it first happened.
The spacing is somewhat of a bitch to keep track of. Coupling this w/ MFC blockstrings, amongst other things, is just whoah. Seems like she could get pretty technical really fast…
I remember a few months back at WNF, we were talking with Combofiend between matches and my friend asks, “How do you know when _____ is going to crossup?” to which he replied with a shrug.
The best mixups are ones that you don’t even know… how do you predict something purely a guess from the attacker? Sure, you need to know a little bit in terms of what’s stupid and smart, but I say let it rip.
Welp, pretty much done with X23 I think. I swear to fucking god I hate these changes.
The worst one being that dashing after a MF cancelled H on hit, she now always crosses under the opponent, making setups extremely tentative as sometimes your assist will come out on the wrong side or your inputs will get crossed up or whatever.
On the other side we have this new M feint crap, instantly shooting X from “an intelligent player can make this character work at high level play with technical skill and good tools to stay in when she’s in” to “Derp crossup lol!”.
Then after that we have the new Wesker. Y’know I always defended him in Vanilla, saying he was the least of the gods, with Dante and Zero being far more complete characters than him. Now with the glasses… I broke 800k with 2 assists and no meter earlier. I’m pretty sure someone will take it higher soon enough. Shit is stupid.
Honestly, I don’t get how Capcom manages to fuck up this bad time after time after time after time…
