Decent damage, I’ll take those Crescent Scythe combos. Converting AAs into combos should be easier with the new Crescent Scythe too. Those combos look like with some tweaking and other assists, they could be made slightly stronger.
EDIT: Wait TMNTemps, I just realised you’re Sakeido lol What happened to your old account?
I don’t the name sakeido anymore, too weeaboo haha. been sporting it for years and am sick of it. so I made a new account… three hours before keits announced a name change promo. le sigh
I just want to be able to have teh same 3 special in air limit that everyone else has.
This is the combo in my head that i have if everything works the way I want.
M- H - H feint - Air M - Air H - L CS - L TD - land - M - H - S - Air M - M - H - M TD - H - Down H - CS - L TD - Ankle slice - Super.
If she can otg in to WXP thats a huge buff to me, because that combos into Viewtiful Joes slow.

Check out what I have come up with after sometime in the lab with X-23 in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Now that you can cancel her crescent scythes into her talon attacks, it makes for some interesting combos.
Plus, we get a nice 700,000+ combo with 1 meter and no X-factor. Check it out and I look forward to seeing what other fello X-23 players find out. Enjoy!
CS loop stuff is bringing back her vanilla damage. I mean now that Zero has the same health as her she might as well be able to do some damage if for some reason she’s fighting another cheap low health character. As much as I’ll want to just battery, a character that won’t give me much meter but is super cheesy like zero is just getting out of there on the first touch. He’s not gonna build me dirt nap meter even off a reset so I’m just gonna blow a meter or 2 and get him the fuck out.
The only reason why X-23 has low ass health is because Capcom knows with the right assists and meter she pretty much can always take 2 people out the match for killing one unless Sentinel or Morrigan is coming in. Long as XF1 is still strong enough for her to do this. Meaty…non assist setups aren’t bad but if you screw up the meaty it’s your ass and you spent 3 meters. I’ll try working on it though and see what I like better but I anybody else other than Dante that can give her dirt nap lockdown assist as anchor and I prefer a team more straight forward towards the bottom if she dies. Her hit boxes aren’t quite as cheap as Zeros (more like nowhere near as cheap outside of one of her specials and MFC s.H) and her ranged game is pretty much nonexistent without an assist.
Oh and this video confirms I’m switching to CS for X-23’s assist now. CS being cancellable on the ground into aerial specials = safe invincible crossover counter. New technologies. Yay. Won’t matter as much now that I’m playing X-23 on point again.
I really want to see how well she can solo OTG into Weapon-X Prime. So far, I’ve only seen it in some video where she does it to Sentinel in the corner…which she was able to do in vanilla anyway…meh!
Yeah, maybe the initial testers were doing it on Sent and just assumed it was universal. WXP does look like it starts up faster in Maximillian’s video though.
BTW, is it pretty clear which hyper we should go for for max damage now? For the WXP setups, you can also do charged neck slice -> charged ankle slice xx rage trigger for a few extra hits. Would that do more damage than WXP?
there is no reason to do weapon X prime anymore imo unless you need the spinning knockdown for DHC. its easy to mash supers for full damage, and if you mash rage trigger it does 10k more than wxp does. you only have to mash the top 3 buttons right from the flash, pretend like you are an online zangief. so you end combos in Wesker OTG, full charge neck slicer, then full charge ankle slice. more meter more damage. easy 650k off any opening now with just Wesker assist… I’m sure with better combos she can do more, all ending with good reset opportunities off the super.
assists are weird in umvc3. much weaker than they were in vanilla, imo… Akuma tatsu got nerfed hard. beams too. you have to be much much quicker on your hit confirms to convert assist hits into full combos… and using assists to relaunch with X-23 late in a combo is tough if not impossible. floor & ground bounces are much more important in this game for combo extension. all purpose assists like tatsu are a thing of the past… jam session is probably still awesome though. frank west shopping cart isn’t that good.
i’m thinking i’m going to play x-23/ryu/wesker. Wesker got some nerfs, sure, but overall he may have gotten better. lvl3 Wesker is fucking crazy speed-wise, damage got nerfed but it doesn’t matter. he is so fast you can relaunch anything until it dies. boost from losing your shades is very noticeable. The new Ryu is ridiculous, crazy damage output, good DHCs, can loop his supers like Akuma.
X-23 seems the same. the normal feint loop still works fine but the 10stars loop doesn’t work at all anymore. she can still relaunch in xf1/2/3, still has the j.M j.H j.S loop in xf2 and 3 for big damage before your first launch. talon attack out of dp is sweet. assist nerfs will make it harder to open people up… I think you will need to do more resets no matter what your team from here on out, unless you play Spencer. Spencer = new god tier
I just want to see how easy it is to mash for players on pad, seeing how I am a pad player myself I already see it tough getting max dmg from RT without some reconfiguration. Some of the X23/Wesker synergy I was running in vanilla still works decently enough, but I’m trying to focus on some of the newer characters that have potential. I kinda figured Vergil would be crazy looking at that those normals and stuff, already tempted making a team something like X23/Dante/Vergil along with my Nova/X23/Hawkeye squad. Damn, so much stuff I wanna test. I might spend a whole day in the lab :x
Gonna miss that 10stars loop. Thanks for the extra info TMNT.
I use X-23 on pad as well, Deviljin said in another that pad players were gonna be pissed off when it comes to mashing lol. Wouldn’t be an issue if it wasn’t for the X-Factor activation. However, perhaps if you rapidly press two buttons, you’ll get the same results.
Deviljin also said all of X-23’s MFC combos work the same, which is really good news. Now, all I need to hear is the game’s got good online, and that’ll seal the deal.
EDIT: Apparently, you only need 1 button to get max damage for mashing.
lol wesker and x-23 are gonna be bffs in this game. Calling it now. You need an otg assist for her now if you want to do relaunch combos. I can get 1.1 mill in xfactor 2 no meter.
Wesker is going to be everyone’s best friend. I think he’ll be on anchor for a lot more teams now.
to do relaunches w/x-23 now you need to use OTG assists now that they are no good high hitstun assists left. closest thing to that I found is Strange Eye of Agamatto, but it only works in the corner after X23’s OTG. that, or use up a ground bounce (nemesis!) or wallbounce. her damage output has definitely gone up overall
Yo TMNTemps, I just watched the Canada Cup archives, and I just wanted to give you props on your stream commentary. Concise, interesting tidbits, good game knowledge and overall just clean and comprehensible commentating as opposed to 99% of the retards out there just getting on stream yelling out random catchphrases. Good on you, m8.
OT soooooo X-23 gonna be dealing a lot more damage off of clean touches in Ultimate it seems. I wonder how CS will factor into her neutral game. With airdash blocking no longer being possible, I think opponents will have to be very wary of her AA game for fear of eating CS xx L talon into follow up.
I’m already hating how everyone is saying X will be “very good” in this game. Like she really changed that much over games. She will still be what she is now; a solid, balanced character that needs a team built around her for a gameplan that is hard to execute but has great reward.
X is awesome. Her bnbs are still doable like vanilla. Only Some loops like mentioned are possible but less reps. But dp combos into dive are generally better more meter and damage.
