Well I mean you’d still get decent meter gain. You should in theory be able to do MH ->Mirange Feint H -> MMH -> j.MMH d.H QCFL -> MHS -> MMH d.H DPH QCFL.
That would get you to exactly 11 hits with the 11th being QCFL which I’m sure has more hitstun than the j.M shown in the video so it should in theory work.
I hope so too when it comes to her MFC combos and double assist combos, otherwise, I’m gonna be fucking pissed and I’m gonna straight tier whore this game out of spite lol.
I also noticed that during XF, her combos work properly. If Level 1/2 do enough damage, you might be to get away with some of the old XF tactics. Failing that, there’s always resets I guess.
Yeah the nerf to XF1 is definitely going to affect her ability to 2 for one people with the dirt nap super so I hope XF1 is still strong enough that we can make that work regularly without issue.
The one thing I noticed about the video was when he was doing the H feint loop that he kept adding both hits of s.M after the loop which I know racks up HSD already.
Yeah, that’s what Moonless mentioned too, 2 hits of s.M during the loops. Shaving off extra hits could make her old loops work, plus with this one: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JigSXAQYt7w&feature=related), you actually do more damage shaving off extra hits.
you have to do two hits of s.M vs. some characters
the hits before the first loop count for more. generally you can only have 3 sometimes 4 hits before your first s.H if you want to do the max damage loop (j.M j.H xx qcf+L / s.M s.H j.M j.M j.H / /\ j.M j.M j.H j.S xx qcf+L)
Really, I agree with the reset aspect better emphasized on X23 game now. I still much prefer a battery character build her meter for her especially now with the changes to max feints, it’s pretty clear capcom is doing all they can to discourage people from using XF1. How quickly X23 gains meter for a dirt nap at point are going to fall on MFCs (that we still don’t know work but I hope they do) and resets. It’s harder to build meter in UMvC3 just in general, thanks to PHX.
Yeah I’m torn because I know ideally for X-23 to cover a lot of matchups she’ll need to be up first with an assist like jam session…but she’s completely scarier outside of dirt nap with XF2 handy. Especially going into Ultimate with NERFED XF1.
I understand why they nerfed XF1 cuz it was basically stupider than XF3 but it’s really going to hurt X-23’s main “get in and kill 2 people” gameplan. I can have X-23 second but I know if she has to go up against some character that’s going to hug the top right of the screen like Ghost Rider or Trish without jam session…it’s not going to be a lot of fun even with XF2 X23.
Either way that’s probably not even my biggest issue. My biggest issue is my DHC’s from Dante to Doom are going to be real wonky if X-23 dies for some reason. If Dante can put them in the corner with his bnb, he’s good to go with cancel into sphere flame for extra damage. If not I’ll most like have to burn XF2 early to kill people. I might even just raw tag in Doom so Doom can get a strong assist with jam session to lock people down for the high/lows since Doom can kill everybody if he gets them in the corner without XF as long as he has a partner any way. It’s just if Doom dies then I pretty much have to have XF saved for Dante cuz Dante loses a lot of his safe mix up potential without an assist.
I guess if anything these changes will force me to think a lot more out of the box with my team and explore new options with Doom outside of just anchor Doom. We’ll see.
I’m hurt… that hit stun decay :sad:. IMO it should have stay the same and universally decreased every ones damage output. Damn dawg i was finally doing those loops with high proficiency
Yeah I’m hoping the charged ankle buff makes it so doom beam can act as a relaunch now. Doom beam lets Dante extend combos but X-23 and beam just don’t work yet for that specific purpose. I’d like to have it so I can extend just a little bit farther after XF1 dirt nap since hitting them with the jam session as Dante counts as part of the combo so I can’t use it again (considering they got hit with the jam session first).
**BTW since we all know X-23 and Dante are best lovers forever…Nini Heart got the game early and posted some playtest changes he noticed for Dante. ** A lot of us are also Dante players of course (cuz we love stylish characters) and well…the changes to Dante sound significant to say the least. Hammer is still very useable (just not on the first frame anymore) but everything else you will definitely be interested in.
Good thing I’m putting X-23 first again cuz holy fuck did Dante change. She’ll basically work two ways now. Either get the level 3 and kill 2 characters if possible…or if she dies early the meter she built from the resets will have Dante coming in with Devil Trigger meters ready to go. They basically buffed Devil Trigger and Dante is a huge new beast in DT that didn’t get used enough cuz of shit like DHC glitch and how hammer answered everything.
After all that, I’m shocked he still has Acid Rain Loops lol. AAing’s gonna suck now…but Hammer’s still decent, and it’s way easier to do due to the new inputs. Will experiment with AAing with that instead…if I decide to get the game.
Now, more than ever, I think I’m gonna need an assist that pins them right down so X-23 can work her mix-ups with freedom, along with a strong projectile assist since X-23’s combos are taking a hit all-round.
X-23+Ammy(Coldstar) + any of the following: Doom(Beam)/Dante(Weasel)/Strange(any) are what I’m looking at for UMVC3.
I may drop dante for zero. A lot of the really good fast assist that causes wall bounces (RR and iron fist) and if dante were going to use those assists for mix-ups his combos would have to be shorten. I guess well see when the new game comes out its all speculation.
Zero is going to be one of the best battery characters easily at this point so I don’t blame anyone picking him up. You planning on using a new assist for the dirt naps?
I’d go with Strange, his disc would seem really valuable for a Zero/X23/Strange team.
I actually forgot about Nova’s special air to ground javelins (track+ground bounce properties), should help with containing Trish along with Hawkeye filling the screen with Scatter Shots. More and more, I’m liking this team
Might battery hardcore with zero. Find resets. If i get 4 meters with him I can just do rekouua into dhc dirtnap. Ive gotten real good with meaty attacks on incoming characters so I may just stick x-23 second. I guess I gotta see how effective meaty attacks on incoming characters will be with air xfactor.
With ultimate x-23 will be PERFECT as a second slot character imo.
You can X-factor while dirt nap is active, still, right? So you could also counter air XFC if it comes to that. Worst case scenario, you’d have to air XFC, tech a throw, THEN activate, lol.
