you cant be serious…whats so good about the doa character designs? Almost every character is a bland stereotype of their fighting style. Only good character design in doa is Jann Lee (best Bruce copy) and Christie. Theres nothing original about any of the ninja outfits whatsoever.
yea you definetly gotta be joking:rofl: comparing 3s to a xbox360 game…wow
I know what your saying but personally I’d prefer to play a badass (if somewhat generic) Mr Miyagi kind of kung fu fighter ( Gen Fu) or Ninja (Ryu) or soldier (Bayman looks way meaner than Rolento). I dont really consider Kasumi to look that generic though. But I do admit her outfit is very similar to Mai.
Being a hetrosexual male, I like looking at a healthy female figures. I pretty much like the design of all the female characters except for Helenas crappy ponytail and Ayanes purple hair. But still overall, I like DOAs char designs.
3s has the WORST character design. A chick in a karate outfit with size 50 feet who looks just like Sakura. Crap. Some 40kg emo who spends more time combing his girly hair than fighting. Lame. Then theres Necro, Q, Urien etc… C’mon this stuff is self explanatory. These character designs suck! I like Alex and Dudley though.
Nothings perfect, and all fighting game rosters will have their weak links but for me, 3S has the most.
Jann Lee is the only one who use Jeet Kune do tho…and actuall fights like Bruce Lee. Jann>Law>Fei imo.
@Cyric
-Im not gonna lie when i first played 3s on Dc i though Makoto was a dude…and Uriens thong looked gay as hell to me. I still think Necro looks wack but, at least these characters are original looking.
-And kOF have some nice character designs. Imo they havbe the best out of any fighting game.
Back On Subject
Why are ppl still taking Itagaki so seriously? You guys act like you wouldnt Hype a game you made.
:arazz:Back the fuck off of Ayane! I think shes hot. What? I got a thing for chicks with purple hair(looks at Ghost in the Shell).
-DOA4 isn’t the “premier” fighting game. It was just the only next-gen fighter for a while.
DOA isn’t that bad. My issues with DOA is 1. NO DAMAGE SCALING off of ridiculous combos. 2. NO FRAME DISADVANTAGE. 3. Counters do way too much damage. 4. Hayate and Kasumi are TOO damn easy to use. 5. Hayate’s damage output is too high. However, High-level play has some interesting matches. DOA is geared towards people who care more about flash than substance. C’mon. Big Breasts, high speed combat, flashy graphics, too easy to get big damage, Hayate and Kasumi built for scrubs, dumbass end movies that have nothing to do with the story nor promote interest in the next installment. Seriously, watch a combo movie for DoA4, it’s some of the most boring shit ever. SF3 has more interesting combo vids. IMO I find VF5 to be better than DOA because it requires dedication to get good. There isn’t any “I’m a lazy bitch who never wants to put in an effort, so I pick easy characters” character. You have to utilize everything in the game and in your characters arsenal just to stand a chance.
I learn so much when I play VF. The same cannot be said about DOA…
And as for KOF having “skinny” characters look at Ryu/Ken and Bison. These bitches are BIGGER THAN SUPERMAN and BIGGER THAN GOKU. KOF characters in terms of build look alot more natural and realistic. Yes, even ASH CRIMSON. It makes more sense for a man to be built like Ryo Sakazaki than M.Bison. GTFO.
But really people, Itagaki is like an owner of a whorehouse. He claims he’s on top just to promote. It’s like the Geico commercials and the All state commercials. Bash your comp to try to make yourself look good.
First of all did you mean takan 2 or Tekken 2 and as far as V.R Fighter did you mean Virtua Fighter I am just wondering though since they seem to sound alike based on their spelling.
DOA isn’t a great game and has far too many flaws as many of you have noted already but it is fun to play sometimes if I don’t feel like working too hard and just want an easy fighter to play overall. I don’t play Tekken, SC, or DOA for depth, that is why I play VF because if it superior depth and skill required to get anywhere in it. If I play Tekken, SC, or DOA, I find them fun to play and DOA is one of the best games I have ever played as far as fun is concerned (not gameplay). Tekken and SC both have good depth and require some skill to learn, but these games don’t compare to VF overall in these areas however.
Do any of you see DOA as a fun game to play regardless of how shallow the gameplay is, that is the question?
For every dude that says they play VF on this forum and posts all these opinions on why VF is good, I wish they would post on virtuafighter.com and look for comp so we could develop a scene here in the USA like tekken.
Instead we get a whole lot of keyboard warriors… brilliant…
