You did great. Hope to see you next year
Wait. Youâre still a virgin right?
sherry shouldâve snookie punched stephanie.
the fighting game community treats anyone that doesnât place top 8 at evo like complete dogshit. and even then. so cry me a river. this is because most of them are nerds with no life and moobs. they have never been this close to a girl or a shower.
after reading what the girls have said, iâm glad it was a positive influence on you.
any girls that want to add me on xbox feel free. wink gamertag: icer978
Iâm originally from Minnesota but I just moved to Hearne Texas a month and a half ago.
No one has trained me to play SF and this isnât my first SF game. Iâve learned from trial and error over the years. Yeah, I know my âplayâ isnât all that great or perfect but I keep trying.
Iâve heard soo many bad comments about kayane and myself and I expected much.
random ultra (which, I heard her tapping on her stick so for me, it wasnât random when it hit and I donât main Gouken,) her lack of bnb with chun . . . whatever. Itâs SRK, home of keyboard trolls and warriors. Iâve been on here since 2002. Itâs not new to me.
I donât know anything about psychology but what I do know is that no matter what others feel about the outcome of the tournament I will still keep playing and improve my game. To me, thatâs what really matters.
Looking back at some of my matches, I see what I COULD have done, what I SHOULDNâT have done to win.
Overall encouraging female players is a good thing. This year encouraged me to train a lot harder because I know, if they have it next year, there will be more females competing.
and props to kayane.
Thatâs cool, I would assume then that you understand why people think itâs silly to specifically highlight players based on gender instead of skill level?
Why did there have to be a womenâs tournament for you to want to train harder?
I get the feeling the ladies tourney bothers guys a lot more than it bothers girls. Which is really interesting. Stop arguing about the social injustice you white knights, none of these girls like you more because of what youâre doing
âSo what, who care?â -Joy Behar
It was cool, hope it shows up again next year.
Yeah, a womanâs tourney should be fine
just please dont award something like a gold stick to the first place.
Kayane is good, but there was waaaaaay better players who couldnt get it even though they practiced for months and months, and this was because the level on the tournament was just too high.
Kayaneâs level is just average and I honestly donât think she deserves it.
She should definitely have an award for being the best female player, but a gold stick is too much.
She is not at the level of the people who actually earned it (like EVOâs top 8, and the one given away in the raffle is the only exception cause it was a marketing strategy, buy a stick, get a ticket for the raffle, its marketing, gotta live with it)
If I showed you the womanâs tourney final without telling you they were girls, youâd say they suck and in no way do they deserve a gold stick. Admit it
Other than that I support the event to keep going a 100%
I didnât say there had to be a womenâs tournament for me to train harder.
I train harder regardless. This wasnât my first tournament. After any tournament I go to, I want to train harder. Thatâs just me.
Iâm looking forward to evo next year, because that will give me a year to train myself and my girlfriend who I hope will do well in the womenâs tourny ( if it remains! ).
=)
yes i would say white knight salty hype get bodied sheâs free and any other current srk meme true talk
Itâs a fucking trophy, not the crown jewels. A golden stick isnât some sort of religious icon, itâs a promotional item, and itâs not like there is some awesome tradition that states, âThe Winner of This Contest and This Contest Alone Shall Carry The Golden Stick for One Year and One Day until Thy Mantle is Passed to a New Championâ.
Not a big deal, dude. Donât flip your shit because a girl got one and you didnât.
That stick is gonna be worth a lot in a few years I would imagine, considering the FG scene doesnât die, hell, if it does, it might be worth more.
The point is, there were FAR better players that didnât get the stick because the womenâs tourney apparently merited one. They should be awarded based on individual skill, not the fact that youâre better than the rest of the members of a tiny group of players. No offense to Kayane, itâs just that I donât feel like a 1 in 24 stick should have been awarded to ANYBODY in a group of players that did not make it into the top 32 in the main tournament.
I mean we might as well have just had a ânot top 32â tournament and given it away to the winner of that.
The sticks werenât being awarded to players because the powers that be decided that they are the most meritorious individuals of the day, they were trophies for events. One of those events was the invitational, another one of those events was the general SSF4 tournament. The winner of the Melty Blood pool did not get a gold stick because that was not the trophy for that event, just as the winner of the Biel International Chess Festival will also not receive a gold colored controller for their efforts. Those who commissioned the creation of the controller decided to award them, as trophies, to the winners of two events, not the top 24 players in the world as measured by some metric that you came up with.
The male who comes in second place at Wimbledon does not get the Venus Rosewater Dish because he has a faster serve than the woman who won in her event. The Venus Rosewater Dish goes to the winner of the ladiesâ event, even if there is amna who won nothing that could potentially beat her.
Iâm sorry that the world isnât a 100% meritocracy and that the MadCatz corporation didnât perform an exhaustive international search to find the definitive top 24 players in the world before awarding their own promotional item to a female that you deem to be a poor player.
Themâs the breaks, son. The world isnât completely fair, and tournament organizers are permitted to give prized to whoever the fuck they want. Maybe next year you can wear a costume and go play with the ladies so you can get you ass handed to you and we can stop hearing you whine about how their play is so bad.
They shouldâve just called it the Chun Li invitational.
But seriously, what is with 80% of chicks picking Chun? Iâve never understood this bizarre phenomenon.
I would have picked Balrog and jab -> thrown every female, then proceed to hold up back and occasionally press fierce.
I would have run textbook xbox live scrub tactics. In other words I would have tied for second.
My point is that it should not have been a trophy for the womenâs invitational at all, either that or the womenâs invitational should not have existed had that not been an option. Awarding a potentially extremely valuable trophy to the winner of a tournament where the only participants were people who did not break the top 100 with the exception of one of the participants is ridiculous and understandably upset quite a few people.
All that matters is reading those posts made by the women who participated and felt encouraged to play more. I welcome anyone who has a love for the game, and seeing some of the women inspired to play more by being at EVO is just straight out awesome.
Donât let anyone tell you otherwise, bring your A game and have fun I would love to see a female make top 8 next year! Be HYPE!
Teresa Caesar for next yearâs evo
I would do the same thing and add some sweeps.
