Early this morning i read that quote, and was like, who the fuck says traditional american dating. I know sri lankans and indians who arent american born, and recently here for school, and do not talk like that. Even going by her account and (stupidly) taking it at absolute face value, deflections and all, she lied about who she was just because it suited her since she supposedly liked the guy so much. I say “supposedly” because lying to someone you want doesn’t exactly mean you actually care for them. It just means you’re using them for your convenience, even if you dupe yourself into thinking you care for them.

As someone who has never slept with anyone myself, I’d be…skeptical if anyone my age of any sex or gender told me they’re a “virgin”, especially if they’re making a big deal out of it like it’s something sacred (ugh), and I’d fully expect the same skepticism in return.
