Chi-Rithy won T13, Toryuken, and MAT. Dieminion was at all of them. Justin Wong was at Toryuken and T13. Wolfkrone was at Toryuken and I think he was at MAT. How you missed this I really have no idea. There was pretty common talk on SRK for a time that Chi-Rithy was the player to beat in North America.

When I will learn how to do it, I will. I’m a very quick learner. I do take some time but when I do, I am one of the best. They were wearing Dragonball Z t-shirts with WWF wrestling button up dress shirts over them. I didn’t know the latter existed or had a market, but that’s neither here nor there.
And they had fanny packs on.

This is what happens when you live in a deluded world for too long. When you’re too sheltered your whole life; this is what happens. When your parents refuse to let you explore, refuse to let you go into “the wild”, and make your own mistakes, connections, decisions. Where they think that shielding and protecting you is better, even though they know they won’t be around forever and you’ll eventually have to fend for yourself.
[On a side note here, I know all this because my parents were also strict. And they sheltered me as well. But when I hit 18 I said fuck this. Best decision ever. So this rant isn’t some wild, hateful speculation. This is my seeing the same patterns I saw in my own lifetime recurring in other people.]
Back to topic…this is what happens when you’re deluded for too long. You develop bad habits. You start talking like an inbred. You start listing out characters you play in every game you play, over and over, and what games you play, even though nobody asked or cares. You talk about how you’re a fast learner, how you’re the best your city has to offer. You refer to yourself in the third person constantly, and use asinine emoticons to somehow backup your arguments.
But when it comes time to put your money where your mouth is, you either don’t have the money, or you make excuses.
You make excuses about everything and anything.
“I use a different console.”
“I’m accustomed to sanwa sticks.”
“That’s not my main character.”
“I wasn’t feeling good that day.”
“I haven’t played in X months”.
So far though, I’ve only described the regular run-of-the-mill scrub that we all know and ignore.
But unfortunately, the retardation doesn’t stop there. Because you’re still angry, and you’re a Johnson. And you find yourself on these forums. Best of all, you’re behind a computer screen, which is safe. Distant. You’re relatively anonymous except to a small group of people you’re arguing with. Heck, you even openly admit that you’re two different people; an asshole on-line and a nice guy off-line. [this is a HUGE problem and you should seriously re-evaluate the proposition]
So you pull out the life card.
You gloat about having a job putting fruit loops on a shelf for minimum wage. You complain about 28-40 hours a week of work being hectic. You have delusions that you will “make it” in life. Yet you continue to be a total failure. You make fun of things you want most that others have. You call someone else’s girlfriend ugly because you so desperately wish you received attention from the opposite sex. You secretly cling on to the idea that sooner or later, all these guys you’re bashing on without reserve will end up admiring you or accepting you as one of their own.
But this will never happen. You will never be accepted into any group that isn’t equally socially retarded as yourself because nobody likes you or anyone who’s thought process is similar to yours. You’re absolutely destined to be a failure for the rest of your life in everything that matters, unless you change your outlook and your perspective. And I sincerely say this with no malice.
Sure it’s a video game forum, but you decided to pull the life card, so I suppose it’s a free-for-all at this point.
I know your first instinct at this point is going to be to either:
a) ignore this, because hey it’s just some random guy on the internet. WTF does he know?
b) start typing up another nonsensical rant about how I’m wrong.
But spare yourself and me the trouble and time. I would probably read whatever you wrote strictly for comedic purposes, but realize this isn’t an opinion or a discussion. I’m right about everything and you’re wrong about everything.

My unsolicited, un-asked for advice? You have 2 choices as a scene to deal with this pest:
a) You setup a match (money is irrelevant). It’s recorded, its on whatever console he wants it to be with whatever stick he wants to play on, and it’s at a PUBLIC setting. No more of this bullshit house tourneys. You ensure that all settings and surroundings and hardware and software are to his satisfaction, and you play out this match, however long or short the set may be.
b) You simply ignore and shun him from this scene. There is really no place for this kind of rude and unreserved treatment and attitude in any scene.
