Lol, no one. One guy, but he’s pretty bad… So am I now though, haven’t played in too long and I was never really any good. Knew elias, but he’s gonezo now. We just mainly need to generate interest…
I think the biggest issue is that everyone has moved on to other things, be it real life stuff like work or other games like LoL or whatever else is popular. No one is really motivated to get better at fighting games here because either they just don’t care, or it’s too much of a hassle to learn/re-learn the game(s) to a decent level. Let’s face it: no one in Windsor is going to go and win EVO, but we’re all competent enough to make the games not fun for people who are just starting or don’t have a grasp on the more in-depth aspects of the games.
When I first started playing SF4, it was my first fighting game and everyone was so much better than me. I wanted to win and get better though, so I took all those losses and learned. People are lacking that quality now, so it’ll be tough to find people who are willing stick around while constantly losing. Not only that, but there isn’t much incentive to get better in the first place because there are no local tournaments, and the reason there are none is because there is no scene. It sucks, but that’s how it is. Even when we had someone like dems putting up his own time and money to set stuff up, we barely got people to come out.
That being said, I’m not trying to be a negative nancy here and ensure there is no fighting game scene in Windsor. I’m all for it, and if anything ever gets setup you can be sure I’ll come out to play some SF4 permitted I’m not at school or work.
Youmacon was a blast this year. I had alot of fun there. Me and my brother took pictures with Alex Valle and Justin Wong. Always wanted to meet those two in person. Man I’m a giant compared to them. Being 6’4 isn’t easy dudes.
To tell you truth everybody and I’m being blunt about this, CANADA SUCKS BALLS AT FIGHTING GAMES!! Be it being Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, good ole Windsor, London, Halifax or anywhere in this country, Amercians are at a DIFFERENT LEVEL than Canadians can ever be. You’re wondering where am I going with this? Well I’ll tell all of you.
I entered the AE and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 tournaments and for some reason I made it past 2 very tough people until I got elimintated. I never played on 360 before especially against ULTRA Hardcore players like them. Those group of guys are at a different level than we are. Doesn’t matter how hard we try against these guys, they will always beat us. They beat me fairly and I beat them but in the end I made a few friends there and a couple of guys let me use their controllers because I didn’t bring mine. They were really cool there. No screaming, fighting or calling each other names. I just took my pics and went home afterwards. I even fought Noel Brown and Ricky Ortiz and I took a match from both of them. I don’t how I did it but I did somehow until I got beat afterwards. I was playing Winners and Losers pools btw.
Anyways the problem with the Canadian scene especially Windsor is that your guys attitudes SUCK BALLS!! I’m not saying Americans are all angels either, they are in the same category but you guys should have more repose to yourselves than Americans do. I joked around and talked to them like NORMAL human beings. I had an awesome time talking and enjoying their presence. Even Justin Wong didn’t act like a jerk there at all like I thought he did. My bad in my part I guess.
My point is that you guys Ray and Janko and Joe can organize a tournament every month if you want but I won’t show up here until your attitudes start to change. I’m moving on myself in my life too. I’m going to start working out now, attending full time school now and working part time at the same time. I want to change now to better myself. Ray like it or not, I won 3 tournaments here with you guys in the past too. Not YOU or JOE got it?!? It was at Darrens place too BTW. In January or February, i’ll be switching over to 360 AE. I need to play with people on there with better competition than PS3. I learn quick afterall. Need better competition than Canadains now. Americans are where it’s at.
Tell you the truth too, you guys don’t play other games like I do. Just like Ray said, I play everything.
Janko, please stop talking like you have a voice for everybody in Windsor okay?!? Again you don’t speak for everyone here and that’s includes me. I play fighting games online on a regualr basis and I know how to play more than one game alright? I’m WAY better than people think I am. Ask Ray for yourself. I beat him a few times online with clear connection. If he denies this, that’s his problem. I know how to play Janko and I know how to beat Janko. Don’t speak for me next time okay?!? That’s really rude of you.
If you guys do set something up here, I will come if I can but not promising anything here. I’m not dragging myself through this crap again if you guys start it. I will go somewhere else and play with other people online. At least I don’t get yelled at on there. Hmmm, sometimes. I will see. Right now I’m a shadow in the distance in the Windsor Fighting Community. Change yourselves and I will come out of the shadows to see you guys again. I know it’s alot to read this but I hope you guys will get the Jiff of what I’m saying here. Thank you and make Windsor proud. Ciao amigos. Let the fun begin…again.
I wasn’t speaking for you, because I don’t include you in the scene. You will never show up, no matter what we do. No one was ever rude to you in person when we had events in the past, and you’re the only person who ever said anything or started any kind of smack talk. If you think you can beat me in AE, then money match me. I’ll even offer to put down $20 if you win, and if I win you won’t owe me anything. Otherwise, don’t waste my time or your own posting non-sense.
Canadians will never be on the level Americans are…which is why Chi-Rithy beat Dieminion 3 times and Jwong twice in the last year (by my count anyway, could be more).

Like it or not Janko, I am a part of the fighting game scene as long as I live in Windsor. I’ve been here for awhile now and I’m not going anywhere, anytime now. There are 2 different people when I’m online. Me and my counterpart. Online I act like a jerk and talk smack (AND can back it up BTW) because of YOU guys. Ryan when did Chirithy win these tournaments? So far not even ONE Canadian made it far at Canada Cup this year and it’s supposed to be Canada Cup?!? Not American Cup in Calgary?!? Believe what you want, Brian. When we played at my house, I was up like 13-2. You kept asking for a rematch trying to get a win and ended up being late for your 9 o’clock curfew. In any case, it’s irrelevant because there are no records of those matches.
You can call yourself part of the scene all you want, but the fact is that you almost never came out to any casuals, you never went to any of the tournaments the rest of Windsor went to, and you never helped anyone out with learning the game despite being the self-proclaimed best in Windsor. Why even bother associating yourself with the rest of us if you despise all of our “negative attitudes” and have no intention of proving yourself as a contender?
