Ray: My execution on that ‘worst pad ever’ was actually pretty solid for a while (I played pad for like 6 months before I got a stick). I mean my execution has never really been great stick or not, but Abel FADC BnB’s really weren’t an issue on that pad. Just gotta use the analog and not the d-pad. I bet I could even go back to pad with a couple weeks of practice.
Darren: I dunno, there’s quite a bit of new blood recently. Hard to say who would really stay dedicated to it, and who would flop out of the scene like so many from the last group when 1 or 2 people get way better than them.
I take up the space of two people, so if you can fit 4 comfortably, subtract 2 for me. 
I figured streaming and hosting tourneys was a long shot, but if we start building a community maybe in the future the possiblities will arise. We can work on building whatever reputation Windsor has, even if it means travelling to venues to start. I’m kind of in the process of getting associated with a regular schedule again, so I’ll have a better idea of when I can start making it to windsor for some casual action.
I thought about the old windsor scene last night and what went wrong. The majority was pretty much retarded inner fighting. People that werent involved thought the people whom were involved were douches and wanted nothing to do with them. Combine that with the fact that in fact we were the egotistical ones. Why would toronto go all the way to windsor with waterloo and a massive community around them already? If windsor had a solid 20+ guys consistently playing then it would probably happen from time to time but again why go to where people are retarded and inferior with a smaller scene. Windsor offers toronto virtually nothing that warrants them making a 4 hour car ride on their on time and money. The only reason they came the one time was because of darren who u should still thank. Hell i still am grateful that night was hella fun.
Even if u took up 2 ppl there would still be room for 2 more haha no biggie. As for averice maybe u could play with it im not gunna say there ppl who cant like wolfkrone but i was born and raised on a d-pad that thing is like my third hand anything else just feels out of place in a video game to me. As for diclawsus your right and i agree but theres other communities in alot close vicinity to us that wont bother eighter say for instance london ??? we went there but so far has been a no go on them coming here.
I have to disagree. The scene fell apart due to money mostly. Nobody could afford to travel and thus didnt want to.
The original problem though was that people weren’t willing to pay for tournaments just to lose(ie: nobody wanted to get better).
The inner fighting had little to do with the major fallout. It is, however, the reason that we don’t have a tightnit smaller core of players(largely more important but not the reason there’s not 20 man tournies anymore). I also stopped pushing to play or host anything once Janko quit as he was the main reason I played. To this day, I play either game maybe once a week(I recently even took down my x-box when redoing my computer desk).
Ray: I’ve been gaming since I was 5 years old; you think I wasn’t raised on a d-pad? No reason I couldn’t adapt to new controllers as they were released (just like all of us adapted to stick). There hasn’t been a decent d-pad on any console controller anyway since the Dreamcast though.

I figured I would chime in on the Windsor scene development discussion. Lately I’ve been trying to help the Windsor StarCraft 2 scene flourish, but it’s the same shit. I don’t know what it is about people in Windsor, but no one will pay for anything so it’s impossible to get a competitive atmosphere. Every tournament I’ve hosted has been free, and because it was free no one really cared so they didn’t play their games or they didn’t try. When I tried to make a tournament entry of like $2 no one joined except the people that might have a chance of winning, which is like four people.
So now I’m hosting a cash tournament with no entry fee, prizes out of my own pocket, just to see what kind of attendance I can get. All in all, Windsor is just a shithole for competitive gaming it seems; nearly everyone is all talk and no game.
Aside from that, I’ll be getting an xbox + bb/ssf4/mvc3 sometime this month. I’ll probably be the new UJ and just troll online since I’ve been sort of shunned from the offline community. I don’t know if I can be abnoxious and bad as him though.
I keep hearing about Uber_johnson and stuff all the time on here and a little at St Clair.

Because of 1 there is no real emotional connection. This gives grounds for lack of respect, peoples inability to relate properly with one another, etc… Good ole digital age.

And because of 1 and 2, there is no real social aspect to the scene. There is just a competitive aspect which becomes tiresome and burdening. Successful scenes have both a competitive and a strong social aspect.
All in all the lack of gamer girls contributed to the scene’s demise.

It’s like a curse after you know and it affects everyone. The only thing I will say here is his Ego is WORLDS apart from ours lol. Killacam prolly not for me at least I feel that London should come to Windsor as we made the trip out there to chill with them. Not saying I don’t like London or anything, but wish for them to make it out here once. Also I refuse to play on 360 until I have access to a pad comparable to the ps3 pad as I cant use a stick and 360 pad is an abomination that begs for apocolypse.
