Why not for xbox?

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/12/06/street-fighter-v-console-exclusive-to-ps4-first-gameplay-video/

Dude…just read the first paragraph of the PS Blog post:

When there’s a partnership between a specific console maker and a game developer…money is usually involved.

Capcom had a partnership with Microsoft for Dead Rising 3.
Platinum Games has a partnership with Nintendo for Bayonetta 2.

Dead Rising 1 was Xbox 360 exclusive…then Nintendo got a remake.

I’m not making “legal speculations” you idiot, it’s common fucking sense that you refuse to acknowledge. Console manufacturers need to pay for exclusivity because otherwise there is no logical reason for a third party company to make its games exclusive. You literally believe it just goes like, “oh, don’t worry Sony, I don’t need those extra sales from the other system, I’ll make this game exclusively for you just out of the goodness of my heart!” You don’t have a fucking clue how this works.

As for the official statement, others have posted it.

You are completely clueless on the subject you’re trying to discuss and it clearly shown in your responses, you are a just talking out of your ass. Also, partnership can mean anything. No point trying to have a discussion with a complete moron anyway.

I agree, so why are you still talking if you just admitted you’re a complete moron?

You have no intelligent points to make so you just say “uhhh you don’t know what you’re talking about” and quickly run away without backing it up. You lose, thanks for playing.

Hello Mr.SRKVillain.

Anyway, wasn’t the statement at the reveal today “Any version of Street Fighter 5 will remain PS4 exclusive.” or something of that nature? I’ll go rewatch it if this is causing such a large issue.

You have made nonstop blanket clueless statement with out any sources to back up anything you say. You are clueless, just shut up.

Clueless? I wasn’t the one who didn’t know about their press release and still talked like I knew something. That was the TEXTBOOK DEFINITION of ignorance that you displayed you fucking idiot. It’s hilarious how you basically just shit your pants in front of everyone and then continue to act like you’re smart.

EH has an article about the partnership with quotes from Ono and Sony:

Yes, you are clueless. you consistently stated it’s timed exclusive and didn’t know an actual blatant statement on psx that its lifetime. Partnership, also doesn’t blatantly mean sony funded sfV, so technically you are speculating like an idiot and don’t understand the variables or possibilities. so I guess you lack comprehension on top of you being clueless. I act like I am smart, why? Is it cause I make you look stupid? Look up the word ignorant, because you clearly don’t even know that either. Also, continue to make childish deluded scenarios because you are totally making me look bad.

I get it though, you’re just being a little bitch because you bought xbone early and wont get SFV and you’re all upset. whaaaa :frowning:

“PlayStation 4 will be the only console Street Fighter 5 ever appears on.”

You can take that quote however you would like.
To me personally it only puts the vanilla game under the jurisdiction of the PS4 exclusivity, no talk of future updates or “Street Fighter 5 versions” was mentioned.

@manbehindthewires‌

The vanilla version of Tales of Vesperia was 360 exclusive which later got a Updated version exclusive to PS3.

Thanks for the answers @geese pants and @hawkingbird. Forgot about Dead Rising! I’m amazed that publishers don’t make contracts that future-proof their exclusivity deals…that’s so exploitable from a devs perspective!
If its going to be cross platform though, either Xbox One will have a loner edition, or no edition at all in my eyes. They seem to be pretty certain about their opinions on cross platform games.

The whole Sony Partnership thing too. That may mean that Sony have enough ownership of the game in its entirety to dictate where it goes. There’s plenty quotes and articles out there about how broke Capcom are and how they couldn’t afford another SF and all that stuff. Its likely that Sony are the driving force.

a c88 guy said on another forum that he has a friend working on the game and he told him that the game is going to be forever ps4 exclusive, console wise.
But again, capcom said Dr3 would never come to pc, so unless sony is publishing the game on console, I dont see how this can be true.

The updated versions will almost certainly not end up on Xbox, majority of the assests would be in the updated version, and those assets are co-developed by Sony.
Also, i don’t see Super Street Fighter V coming out, in the way it was done in the past. SImply updates and that is it.

To keep it to Capcom games alone: Resident Evil 4, Viewtiful Joe and Killer 7 were all supposed to be GameCube exclusives. That… didn’t happen, as you might be aware.

I don’t understand how this is difficult to grasp.

The Sony guy Adam Boyes came on stage with Ono and literally said the game would never release on any other console … crystal clear.

They danced around the details of their partnership, but without saying “Hey, guys, Capcom are fucking broke, we’re helping them out”.

It sucks, but I’d rather have the game exclusive on one platform than it not existing at all.

When it comes to business and things like that, interpretation of words gets a little…boggled.

The only title they mentioned was Street Fighter 5. Regardless of the Sony funding and co-development that statement has no association with an updated title such as a Super/Hyper edition. I’m not saying it’s 100% fullproof and that I’m right, it’s just something to take into consideration, as a lot of games nowadays are presenting themselves as “Exclusive” and then later launching on other platforms.

Of course, it could just be a one game contract – i.e. Super SFV could hit all platforms.

However, the damage will be done. It took what, two years for Super to release? I doubt many XB1 users are going to sit around for two years waiting for the next iteration, and I know those who want to play the game competitively definitely wont. Every tournament will be ran on PS4, people will now have to buy PS4 fight sticks, the marketing will be all Playstation. It’s incredible that they managed to snag this, but ridiculously stupid that Capcom didn’t give Ono the funding he needed in the first place. (who knows, maybe they just didn’t have it)

Better believe if Sony is indeed co-developing and not just helping finance the game, that basically solidifies future iteration exclusivity. (unless they don’t use assets/textures/etc developed by SCEJ)

i would guess that RE6 production was way more than SF4’s. it wouldn’t surprise me if the percentage of profit was a lot higher for SF4 than RE6.

Oh yeah, the tournament standard for the next generation is almost definitely going to be PS4, the amount of fighters exclusively coming to that platform outweigh the titles on PC/XBone with all of the anime fighters like GG, UNIEL, BB and Persona as well as Street Fighter now on top of that. Japan just sway towards the PS4 and thus Japanese developers create games with that system primarily in mind.

Am I glad that it brings the FGC together onto one console and lessens the gap between the community? Hell yes. Am I hyped about them implementing cross-platform play? 10/10 hype-machine.

Am I happy that people who unlike me got an XBOne instead of PS4 either recently or a year ago? Hell no, it drives sales for the PS4 and from a business perspective it’s brilliant for Sony. But for people without solid gaming PCs and an XBOne, they’re forced into a PC upgrade or buying an entirely new console and stick etcetc.

It’s great the game is actually happening and and I’m not complaining at all. I just feel for the people who are going to have to invest in new hardware just to stay in the loop.
