Why is Kazuya the frontman for Tekken in SFxT?

and Paul is Guile + Ken

Gen?!

It appears Anna won’t be in SFxT because she was EATEN BY A FUCKING DINOSAUR.

In terms I don’t like using but in this site is easier to understand, Kazuya is like Sagat while Jin is like Ryu. Kazuya is overall the cooler character so to speak while Jin is just some Naruto looking emo type character. Meh, story mode isn’t that great can’t really care about game play the rely on pop up combos.

Because Kazuya died and came back to life, effectively making him Tekken Jesus.

Kazuya is Tekken’s most popular character and synonymous with the series. I don’t think that Jin as the game’s frontman would have the same effect though. Nina does the same thing for the female side of Tekken as well.

Kazuya isn’t that anymore. He’s taken on an antagonistic role since Tekken 4. But Jin’s has been the focus of the story since Tekken 3. Devil Within and his ending in Tekken 5 made it clear who was the main character. And as far as SC goes they’ve pinned their plot hopes on Siegfied from the jump. It didn’t make any sense at first but by SC2 it was clear the direction they wanted to take the story. And Lars is a Mishima. He will get preference because of this fact. Doesn’t mean he’ll make it in either version though. Though I’m real interested in their take on him in UNS2.

This is true. Poor Michelle offed by Ogre. The same plot device that took Jun away from me. The device’s intention was similar to what SF3 and Garou did. But in the end it’s intention isn’t story relevant anymore seeing as most of the characters Ogre allegedly killed are still around.

Pretty sure Michelle got injured by Ogre (going off Julia’s T3 ending) and wasn’t killed. She just doesn’t fight anymore.

^^ And Kunimitsu…

Most endings in Tekken are non-canon. And seeing as she hasn’t been mentioned or seen for that matter then she may be canonically dead. But I don’t have enough evidence to back it up. I do remember somebody who worked on the series said that she was one of Ogre’s victims. I might have to see if I can locate it.

The same for Kunimitsu. She just disappeared from the series with no explanation what so ever. She needs to make a comeback either in TTT2 or T7. Don’t care which.

I think its safe to say any ending that doesn’t conflict with anything else or directly requires them to win the tournament can be regarded as canon. Many examples; Julia in T4 got the re-forestation data after she won the tournament, in T5, obviously she didn’t win the tournament but its still the same. Bryan getting saved after he beat up the doctor - they just remove the part where the they won the tournament and it still works. I’m positive its the same with Michelle, Julia doesn’t have to beat up Ogre to find a weakened Michelle or have won the tournament. Pretty sure it would have said somewhere in the later games about Julia being sad over Michelle being killed.

Also, the T3 story for Julia is that Michelle got kidnapped by Ogre instead of attacked. So, yeah I think it obvious she’s alive. She was probably taken out of the story because she doesn’t have anymore motivation to fight.

I thought someone said that Kuni was taken out because Raven sorta replaced her, but don’t recall where I heard that from. He def received some of her moves.

I don’t care much about both stories becasue it’s a crossover…
I agree with Kazuya feuding with Ryu because they are the winners of their respectives first tournaments.
And feuding the Karate guys from Tekken with the disciples of Goutetsu is easy in my opinion…

Ken vs Paul: The american rivals of the main guy, remember Paul uses some of Judo but with Karate moves… he shares moves with Jin, Heihachi and even Kazuya.

Gouki vs Heichachi: The old bastards, failed assassins.

Gouken vs Jin: The fight between the strongest ones. In Tekken 4 Jin defeated both Kazuya and Heihachi, and I think Gouken still can defeat Ryu and Gouki.

Dan vs Kuma: Kuma shares some moves with Heihachi because is his student.

I know many people wants a feud between Zangief and Kuma, but IMO Gief feuds better with Jack.

They could always just say she was one of the Ninja’s Bryan killed when he lost it at Yoshimitsu’s place.

That wouldn’t work, because yoshi kicked her out of the clan before Tekken 2. So, why would she be there?

Because Tekken didn’t start at #3.

Jin is not the front man because he is still a child. Jin vs Ryu is like racing a hybrid car vs diesel. Kaz is cool as hell, fighting in a purple $200 suit. Jin showed up wearing some lame flamer 99’ rave pants. Devil Kaz was in tekken 1 so there is no reason to even have Evil Ryu fight Devil Jin other than the fact that Devil Jin does look way cooler than DKaz looked in Tekken 1 which is the only way Jin would be able to step to Ryu.

People that were actually born in the 90s might not understand this. Hard to belive that both of these series have been around for so long.

Kuni is cool as hell. Been MIA so long I forgot she even existed.

Forgot about that.

Kuni is hot , you should see a pic of her wearing water melon print bikini

Because Kaz is the original Main character and Jin hasn’t didn’t arrive until 3 games in.

End of thread.

In any case, Harada came out and confirmed a while ago that pretty much everybody is still technically “alive”, except for the original King and Armor King.

(Original Kuma could pretty much be confirmed dead as well, since his son took over for him, and nothing has been said about the original bear since).

So, with that said, even Jun is still alive some where. I’d like to think if any time is soon for her to appear, it would hopefully be in the next Tekken game (which Harada and team are already working on, and is slated to be out before TxSF, at any rate).

These crossover games tend to focus on the classic characters. The SNK Vs were basically SF2 Vs FF/AoF/KoF94-96 with a few guests. No K’, no Alex. Expect Jun to be in both SxT and TxS.

That and Kazuya is badass.
