And for someone who doesn’t care about the series, you’re sure displaying a lot of hate towards something you don’t care about. You may not care to see it succeed but you care to see it die. When people don’t care about something, it doesn’t get their love or hate. It’s flat out ignored. So take the hint. Unless you and the rest of the cosplayer kids round up some money to buy the DS license for a bit(I wouldn’t be surprised if Capcom accepted the transaction at this point), you can’t count on them to take a chance on a underwhelmer straight out of the gate. We(The FGC) will buy it, because it’s a FG and Capcom’s name is on it, but it’s destined to fail unless they put a shitload of (phantom) money into it.

Story? Capcom doesn’t care about story for there fighting games. Look at SF4.

Well I love Felicia, Morrigan and all the Darkstalkers ladies. Especially BB Hood obviously. But the women being brought to the forefront as the faces of the series gives the wrong impression. A lot of people think Darkstalkers is a hyper sexualised fan service fighter when really Morrigan and Felicia is the only Fan Service you get. Most of the other characters range from Zombies, Vampires, Werewolves, Aliens etc. But Morrigan and Felicia are advertised so much that people aren’t aware of these guys and think the rest of the cast is like Morrigan and Felicia.
I think if the men were brought to the forefront people’s perception of the series would change. Instead of being refered to as “That game with the hot succubus and naked cat girl”

Just to be fair, Capcom not trusting the franchise only because the rehash of a 15-years old fighting game “doesn’t sell” is stupid. Imagine if SNK was not considering new KOF games simply because the ports of KOF '98 are not selling in the Wii or anything.
I think a NEW Darkstalkers game could sell very well, with Killer Instinct-level graphics, people could be really interested. But whatever, Capcom doesn’t care, they prefer to keep milking on Street Fighter IV here to infinity.

Shishioh. I’m not against a new Darkstalkers, I’d love to see a new one. But I can also be logical and acknowledge that a new entry in the series isn’t going to happen nor would be a good idea at this time. And as much as I want a new game I don’t trust modern Capcom to do a good job with it. They’d probably do away with the cartoonish style and silly animations and redesign it to be uber violent and dark and make it the MK of Capcom fighters.
Well the community did put some input into those tutorial videos that ComboFiend made; and some of us came down on short notice for the exhibition tournament (Final Round) in which I watched almost an entire room leave the venue for mvc3.
As has been stated many times, this community has the skullgirls problem with too many fans of the series, but not enough players of the games. I honestly do not know how to rectify this issue as I believe that the community of players does not have enough resources to pull off anything meaningful besides just making people aware that the game actually exist and the competition is there for it.
That is okay though, as a player I’m happy that I can put my skills to the test against the Japanese competition that comes every year to evo and see all the people who stuck around with the game grow stronger each time I play them.
MightMar. More like Skullgirls suffers from Darkstalkers problem of having too many fans not enough players.:P. It’s very true though. A lot of People like the lore and characters of Darkstalkers but don’t really want to play it. Eh guess that’s how the cookie crumbles I guess. At least the Vampire Savior scene is still active after all these years thanks to guys like you.

Models for both were made in Maya, it’s mostly a matter of running one exporter or the other. Don’t mistake the engine for the data.
