plink dat ish. If you can do c.lp, c.lp I see no reason why you can’t do c.lp, c.mp. The rhythm for hitting it is very similar and if you plink it becomes a 2 frame link just like c.lp, c.lp.
Cause she’s not A tier, by FGC inner tier whore non loyal logic. I think she’s a solid character, Justin Wong did pretty well with her at the invitational. Infiltration and PR Rog got first and second, but you have to keep in mind that they’ve BEEN using those characters.
I try not to use the c.mp link too often online because the link is risky to drop. I don’t see why I should let allow the opportunity for my opponents to gain frame advantage or punish me for dropping an unsafe bnb, which doesn’t even give me a solid knockdown for okizeme.
Hmmm, I didn’t know that MK SS linked. This is good to know, but how does that combo work vs crouching characters? c.lp x 2 into whatever seems to be me more or else guaranteed not to drop on characters if you are fairly close.
People who thinks she’s bad are just wrong. She’s easily one of the most solid, if not the most solid character added in Ultra. Her footsies are crazy, she can link out of overhead, and c. :mp: > ex overhead flip / ex breakdance is a 50/50 high low for your opponent.
She just controls space really really well. She seems bad because most casual players don’t have good fundamentals or footsies, and those are really Elena’s strongsuits.
People let this thread die, although I might not be helping by posting lol regardless she is not bad she is also not good and gecko she is not solid, what solid charc has moves that make the opp fall out AFTER not before or during but AFTER you hit confirm i mean cmon i should be rewarded not punished for landing that combo. What solid charc has a wonky hitbox that is not consistent by any means. What solid charc only has two buttons that can actually be used for footies everything else is punishable so its a guess or a commitment at that point not footies. Yes her 50/50 is really good but she has more cons than pros i keep telling people do not think of Elena as a charc that good instead think of Elena as a charc you can grow with if you are good with Elena then you are good at SF period cause u are good at the fundamentals and you must be really good at them to have even moderate success with her. I think Elena falls under the category of an unfinished charc i mean the hitbox can attest to that capcom didnt really seem to care all that much for her i think
Disagree. Every competitive player who’s tried her has said she’s one of the better characters to be added in Ultra. Her footsie game is ridic. She’s not middling.
Blanka says hi. Falling out of specials is a bitch. After you know you confirms you should know what specials to go for. You have to keep an active mind about what you’re doing. If you go cr.lp cr. Lp cr. Mp ex lt you deserve to get punished and lose.
There’s been instances with other characters if they’re too far away their special won’t connect properly. Ken and Akuma shoryukens are a perfect example of this.
Once again you can make her normals safe by being space properly. Poking with st.M isn’t going to get you there. Poking with st. Lk is going to be very hard to punish. She has plenty of stuff she can poke with. Makoto has st.m and cr.m as pokes.
Here’s the truth most of the shit you’re bitching about can be overcome by work and putting time into the character. Put it depends on if you want to put in work or not.
I think a lot of Elena’s offense is really sketchy and limited, and she can be infuriating to play online as the links after mallet are hard to do by muscle memory and variable input delay screws you over. However, she has an amazing neutral game against most characters, most of my wins come from getting a life lead from AAs, pokes, and whiff punishes with sweep and slide (god I love her slide), then I just sit on it and let the opponent hang themselves. If you just try to rush down against most characters you’re gonna have a bad time, the risk/reward ratio isn’t too great for her in close range offense unless you have U1 stocked. However, if your opponent never blocks high you can stun and kill fools comically fast.
So in the first sentence, you imply that characters who don’t rely on ambiguous crossup vortexes and set plays aren’t legit only to follow it up with “I didn’t think the community was so full of scrubs.”
Maybe you should check your own scrubby, narrow-minded view of what makes a character “legit” before name calling?
