No, don’t remember that one.
yeah, that’s when there actually is lag/delay present, which occurs when I play most of Mexico. I’m not telling DG to play me when he’s in mexico, but when he’s in Texas.

I’m on 1.5MBps and I never have serious lag issues in the Americas except with countries south of Mexico. With Mexico I’ll get pings from around 100-170ms (which isn’t wonderful but playable). And last time I checked, DG lives in Texas where the internet infrastructure should be fine.
I’ll try because I remember DeadlyRaveNeo and me trying 2 no success… =(
It’s also funny reading Emil try to reply to me. This fool doesnt get it, I’m done with him. He’s just trying to bait me but it’s not gonna work.
I’ll see if we can have some more success getting GGPO and 2DF working on my laptop, because me and Rorick ran into serious problems trying to get the stuff setup. And if for some reason I do get it set up, I’ll play everyone in here except Emil. The lines have been drawn for what has to happen for me to play him online. He has to play me offline. No ands ifs buts about it, I dont play his game unless he agrees to play mine. It isn’t gonna work any other way.
That’s the end of that.
Well you could try 2df, that often works for people when GGPO doesn’t. GGPO doesn’t always work for me either, especially when the 98 room gets busy.
Sure, you don’t have to respond to Emil, but I definitely think you should play him. I respect how you run events, but you have to realize a lot of good comp is online only. You can’t always play your opponents on your own field.
Also: I don’t think Emil has the means to travel so calling him out to come to Texas isn’t fair. I don’t travel, does that not mean that I’m not involved at all? I think you can see what I’m getting at.
I do know about this, but at the same time it goes like this:
So like I’ve been working to get people like Mr. KOF to come out for the past 4 years, I am working to trying to get people like Sam Sho Mike (m121legend) to come out to make the US Sam Sho scene stronger and more exciting so trust me I’m down for it. I think I can get these people to come out to tournaments, it just takes the right time, and playing with them online just may do the trick.
Emil has had the means to travel before.
You can ask almost anyone in here, and I’ve offered to pay his travel, a car, and other things if he came here, played us and won.
He refused and this is well documented I can show you, so that’s on him. If someone is offered all that and they refuse, that’s on THEM.
That would be Emil, he talks mad game, but won’t come out of his house at all, won’t even play the people in his OWN COUNTRY such as the FOBS etc, but yet he is the self proclaimed best KOF 2k2/98 player in the USA and Canada. Does that make ANY sense whatsoever?
I help a lot of people you have no idea to get to tournaments financially ALL THE TIME…so its not about their means…if they want it I make sure they get it…
Emil just talks a pretty game and sure he has skill, but not enough for as much he talks.
I don’t think everyone wants to travel unless there is lots of high level comp. Online provides unlimited comp so I don’t see any reason to travel unless it was a major or you had friends at the destination. You and Emil also don’t get along, so why would he travel down there? Prove you’re high level comp to him by playing him online and he’d probably be more humble towards you.
But why do I have to adjust to Emil? Who made him God? I shouldnt have to bow down before him, there should be a compromise. He can do the same thing Chris Hu did can’t he? And thats come play us in person. Sure Chris Hu got his ass handed to him, but at least he has more respect earned for him than Emil. He manned up and actually played, and that’s all Emil has to do. What would seriously hurt Emil is if he came in with the attitude Chris Hu had. If not then more than likely no one would give him a hard time. If he came in respectful to everyone and humble with them like I act around people, I’d make SURE no one gave him a hard time.
So why should I give Emil what he wants? There should be a middle ground.
Also as we’ve discussed time and time again, Online and offline aren’t the same. So if you want to really find out who’s better, Offline determines that.
Thus I’m holding my ground, there has to be a middle ground…he’s not just gonna have his way, I get mine and he gets his. Thats the only way we are gonna talk. If not trust me Emil is nobody to me I have no problem continuing to ignore him now.
I got bigger fish to fry in the other countries. And on my radar is everyone he worships and dickrides… I got a big ass target on all of them.
What you’re basing this off is some kof98 matches from KAILLERA that I uploaded way back when I had just started learning kof98. Those videos I had put up simply to show that anyone can look pro when they are fighting people who have no idea what they are doing.
You don’t have to “adjust” to me, the thing is that setting up 2DF/GGPO takes practically no time and effort, while travelling around is just not something I can do. I don’t care if you pay for my trip, since the issue isn’t really money in the first place. The fact that you take the quickest, easiest and most convenient approach and ignore it shows that you are dodging.
yknow sometimes it seems like the only reason you dont play on ggpo/2df is because emil does
Just swallow your pride and play him already. You aren’t playing a money match or playing for a title or anything. If you like the game so much why don’t you play it online, at least once? There are other people you can play besides Emil you know.
Offline is far more accurate for a lot of reasons which I dont think need to be mentioned, although this actually reminds me of a situation that happen witt the HDR crowd. A lot of top HDR online players did pretty bad during the actual evo event inspite of the fact that they hold a good eputation as excellent online players. In my case, I hold a good reputation as one of the better fei’s online…infact I have played agaisnt some players who have played both jumpsuit and sirlin (whom are known as the best fei players in NA) that have told me “you have the best fei in NA, even better then jesse and sirlin”.
While I am flattered by these remarks, it would be in poor judgment and taste to even consider me on the level of guys who have played and ranked in high level tournies…somehow this point seems lost on people like Emil who believe casual online matches are>offline tournaments.
woooosh
I don’t think anyone ever said Online was comparable to offline, it’s just the next best thing in this scenario between Emil and DG.
If you posted this same remark on the HDR forums would they agree?
how’s playing online = bowing down to a god?
not like the only person you are playing against is emil…there’s also tonnes of good KOF players out there
Yeah of course, I talked to a lot of the HDR guys after the evo event and they told me themselves how the experience went down…and I wondered who negged rep me for that comment anyways.
Some of you need to learn how to read properly.
No offense, but if you’d been reading what I already posted, me and DeadlyRaveNeo been tried to get 2df setup on my CPU. Did not work.
So I’ll try again one time for sure. I’ll play on 2DF/GGPO as much as I play online in KOFXII…rarely, but I am on there. DeadlyRaveNeo helped me setup KOFXII on my PS3, and people have seen me online playing KOFXII on my PS3.
See above. If I could get GGPO/2df setup already I wouldve by now. Plus it’s not about my pride, it’s about compromise. If I can play him online then he can also do what I want him to do.
See above once again. If 2DF/GGPO was working on my laptop I wouldve been playing on there by now. I wouldve been playing people like ShinBlanka and DeadlyRaveNeo on 2DF,m121legendx for Samurai Showdown, but as I’ve said quite a few times in this thread alone, me and DeadlyRaveNeo could not get it setup on my CPU. However we did get KOFXII setup on my PS3, thus I have played KOFXII online.
Also how is that bowing down to him?
Because I believe in compromise. I believe in not only me getting what I want, but the other person getting what they want. Western way of thought is one person getting what they want and it not mattering about the other person.
I don’t think that way.
I’m all about both people getting what they want out of a deal.
Thus both people have to get what they want, that means not just me getting what I want by Emil playing offline, nor him getting what he wants by me playing him online, both of us reaching a mutual agreement.
If we cannot reach a mutual agreement that addresses both then the deal is off the table. You all can keep talking all you want, but that’s what its about, I make deals that benefit both parties, not something selfish or something that benefits one party like traditional Western thinking.
If you cannot understand this do research on how business deals are dealt with in the East. But I’m not from the East? Oh yes I am, a lot of my DNA goes to Morocco.
As Hatred Edge says, some of you need to learn how to read correctly. No offense but I been said countless times that me and DeadlyRaveNeo could not get 2df to work on my laptop/CPU.
Also on another note, I just talked to some people in Juarez last night and they told me that **Esteban IS NOT #1 IN JUAREZ IN KOF 2002.
**
All this has led me to tell them that at the 50 + tournament in February I’m holding in Juarez called JuareZ WarZone, I am going to make sure Alexis plays Esteban First to 10 and get it filmed in addition to the tournament footage.
What happens if Esteban loses? He’s not the best.
What happens if Esteban does NOT WIN THE TOURNAMENT? He’s not the best.
All it is to it.
Who has more credibility ladies and gents, someone who is damn near Mexico City (Central Mexico) talking about whats going on in Juarez (Khannibal), or people that ACTUALLY ARE FROM JUAREZ AND LIVE IN THE DAMN CITY?
If Khannibal was talking about something happening in Sinaloa I’d be more inclined to believe him, but hes talking about something that’s happening quite a ways away.
That’d be like me talking about whats going on in New York City though I live close to the Dallas area…
It’s rather obvious to me.
Matter of fact just to make sure I got my evidence, at JuareZ WarZone I’m gonna have Alexis and Esteban do a ft3 for youtube, and a ft10 for the DVD, so you all will get plenty footage of them playing…on youtube, the ft10 exhibition, and in the tournament (if they matchup) so no questions will be asked otherwise.
That way this stupid debate can be squashed because the film won’t lie. If Esteban is #1 he should:
If he can’t do all three he aint #1!!!
Watch if this happens Emil will say some shit like “Esteban’s got better yomi, and though he lost he’s still the better player.”
To be fair, Alexis shouldn’t be considered #1 either if he doesn’t win all three.
I don’t know why you set up all those conditions, is Alexis widely known as the #1 already? Does the #1 and #2(would the loser be considered second?) have that much of a level gap that it would be impossible not to win all three?
Lost what exactly? It would be right to some extent to say this if X wins the Ft10 and lose the tournament for example and wouldn’t in other situations.
Absolutely agree, Alexis has to win all three as well to be considered #1 I agree wholeheartedly.
The players in Juarez were telling me that Esteban is already quite beatable in Juarez right now. Hugo is also a top player in Juarez, Alexis beat him 10-2 this past weekend in a $100 Money Match. (And I saw Hugo in person and I thought he was pretty damn sharp in 2002 so this is a shocker to me even!)
Joelle, the person he beat in Grand Finals from the Nouveau Defi Prologue 2009 tournament last month to win $500, Alexis beat him 10-1.
So there just may be that much difference in skill.
Also I set up all those conditions because then it will be without a shadow of a doubt who’s better with these stipulations.
If it happens any other way then it’s up for grabs like one winning one but not all three, but videos tell more of the story than anything else.
But that’s not even half of it, I’m gonna interview people in Juarez for the DVD ABOUT THIS VERY SUBJECT.
I’m gonna talk to Esteban personally, Alexis, all this shit, bring up what Khannibal said…so yeah this is all gonna get dealt with!
