Who like the x-factor system?

The concept is cool(canceling one super into another), but the level of dmg that say a Sent does when its activated is just silly. I was watching videos of the higher lvl players and one of em was down to just sent and activated that crap and destroyed an entire team, THAT part of it i don’t like, that, at least to me is just too OP. Then again, it is Marvel soooo… shrugs

Ororo Munroe & Jean Grey would agree with you.

If X-factor was NOT in this game, it would be impossible to make a come back when it’s 1 vs 3. However, I do wish they would of put a one time use mega crash into this game. That and Sentinel are my only complaints. X factor deserves to stay.

This.

Not impossible, just very hard.

I like X-factor as a mechanic, it’s a neat concept and a cool button. I do think level 3 X-factor is too strong for too long… and I think the solution should be nothing beyond making level 3 ( and maybe level 2 as an extension ) weaker.

I don’t think removing XF is the right decision, because then you’re taking away a cool as hell mechanic that adds some depth to the game.

I don’t think making XF nonscaling is the right answer, partially because I know Capcom likes comeback mechanics, partially because the scaling aspect, if kept reasonable, does add some small amount of depth to the game. In versions where XF didn’t scale ( SDCC ), the gameplan involving XF was basically blow it at the start of the match to land a kill and hopefully put a dent in the second character… which wasn’t very engaging or deep… and with how random and quick paced the Marvel Vs series is, I don’t think a comeback mechanic is entirely bad, since it makes playing out a full match more valuable.

Of course right now, the opposite is true, blowing it early almost always puts you at a disadvantage… I think a medium between the two extremes can be reached to make the mechanic a lot deeper.

i dont certain aspects of it.

  1. not taking chip damage when level 3 x-factored. this is a huge blow to characters thats gameplay is based on chip damage (arthur, chris, keepaway characters)

  2. disproportionate x-factor levels with characters. sentinel gets a 230%(!) power increase. i can understand if its someone slow like the hulk, but sentinel is not slow and he can zone pretty well unlike the hulk.

all the comments along the lines of “i like XF except as it applies to Sentinel” is reminiscent of the nerf Sagat movement in SF4. history repeats itself.

haha, i guess Sentinel is SF4 sagat of mvc2. the just hate Sentinel, not XF.

Basically, but worse.

I like X-Factor, I don’t like X Factor Level 3.

I feel X Factor level 3 is just far too strong. It almost takes away any incentive to eliminate enemy characters early on, and likewise makes losing characters not crippling enough. Otherwise, the versatility of the mechanic keeps things interesting.

This is by far the biggest problem with it. It’s giving you an incentive to not finish off your opponent’s characters.

it just confusing why they think a character needs to get both buffs in speed and power. i wont mind a level 3 sent if he got a little faster but also the 220% damage buff.

i guess it would be okay if it was same time as maybe a level 1 or level 2. then it the massive power and speed upgrade would make sense since you have little time to use it. i dont mind the damage in this game, but when i take out 2 characters on your team and my team in good heath you should be bad spot not me.

it seems like it makes people use two character to fight and one other character just to use level 3 x-factor in. so if things go south dont worry you got a full heath level 3 x-factor character for backup.

I like it. But I play a low health runaway team built around Dark Phoenix. Level 3 X-factor is good for her. Without it she’d be so weak and not so scary like she is now. So keep the mechanics the same thx :stuck_out_tongue:

really dumb comeback feature.

1 character beating 3 in a matter of seconds is dumb.

level 1 x factor is great imo

Level 3 Sentinel is really fair, so I like it.

x-factor poll redux.

This is just a version of the next thread with more options.

Multiple selection and public for making it work.

I think X-Factor has absolutly no negetives. It’s just too free. It’s basically a get out of Jail free card and I don’t like how powerful it is. Any game with a feature like this needs to have pros and cons and it has nothing but PROs. It needs either a requirment besides just having it like using a Meter or have a special down time that maybe does’nt allow you to build meter for 20 seconds or something or whatever, just give this thing a definitive weakness and i’ll be fine.

To me it seems Capcom under estimated their game balancing skills. I think a player could OCV an entire team without X-Factor, however I understand the mechanic but it should only be throwing them a bone not a freaking Old Country Buffet banquet.

yeah I say nerf that shit.

i just don’t agree with level 3, alot of times i take out 2 characters without using it then they use it and get a few hits in to take out almost or my whole team, I also think the damage in this game is a bit much. I think the overall damage needs to be toned down a bit as well which I think will probably happen but not until the next version of the game just like SF4 to SSF4 did.

Nice idea, but the double damage when I can actually make combos large enough to come close to killing even the highest health characters in the game is just stupid. I had an instance last night where I was up against a lvl 3 x factor Sentenal and he caught me with one super ONE SUPER and me and my assist were completely dead. No combo, No fancy set up, just one lucky super and I was gone.

Damage in general in this game is way too much. I don’t like how much damage can be done for how much work is actually involved.
