They’ve been hinting at a Charlie resurrection ever since we were introduced to Shadow in Marvel Vs SF. They revived the resurrection hints once again in SF4 in Abel and Guile’s interaction, as well as Guile’s prologue. Honestly, you could see Charlie being alive from a mile away.
Oh I get that Charlie being resurrected is an expected old bit (heck they’ve been trying to put him in games since All Stars and vs Tatsunoko), I meant this iteration of the resurrection, the Illuminati connection, and making it a canon choice instead of a dream match.

Oh in that case, I didn’t see that (Illuminati connection) coming at all and I’m curious where they will take it, and if Charlie is brainwashed or willing, and if this is related to Bison/Shadaloo when previously the two were unrelated (one is a Masonic doomsday cult and the other is a international criminal syndicate).

CFJ had a pretty solid cast all things considering, I wouldn’t be surprised if most of these made it in to the game; excluding Vampire Saviour and Warzard of course.
I always felt they were a very good representation of their respective games.
Just replace Vampire with SF4 characters and Warzard with SF5 characters, Ingrid with the Boss.

Quick question on a side note:
What’s it about R.Mika?
Recently seen a clip of her, her normals seem horrible and the overall style looks like a female fuerte fighter, less on speed, equally annoying.
What make’s R.Mika a desirable character? Also, she seems way too goofy for SFV with a buttattack and rubbing her butt in pain as she lands… the hell…?
I don’t think they will or should include Guile, as Charlie is in. It would be just a waste of character slot, IMO.
Aside from Ryu, Chun and Charlie, which are obviously in, I’d like to see:
Karin
She deserves to be in another game, and I’d love to see how they’d handle an older take on the character. It would probably mean involving an older Sakura as well, which also would be cool.
Gouken
One of the many characters that has some really solid stuff on paper in SF4, yet has all the system mechanics of SF4 working against him. He’s also the most interesting-to-play new SF4 character, by far.
Urien
I hope I don’t need to justify this, and I think he’s fairly likely to be in, considering Illuminati seemingly is involved in the plot.
Also, just to justify my choice: KILL CRUSH DESTROY pls

Even if I don’t like playing as this guy, he’s easily one of the coolest character designs in SF. The game needs class.
Haggar
Time for this guy to get a role in an SF game, and we’d probably need a grappler anyways. Rather Haggar than Gief or Hugo in that case.
M. Bison
I don’t really play this guy, but seeing some interaction between Shadaloo and Illuminati would be interesting.He also tends to be pretty honest, which is another point in his favor.
I’m not that interested in seeing the other shadaloo-characters, though, except maybe a Doll. Primarily because Shadaloo characters are pretty uninteresting overall.
Dhalsim
SF4s mechanics weren’t kind to him. He needs a shot to redeem himself as more than “the low-tier stretch-arm keep-away guy”, although preferrably without being quite as insane as he was in ST and A3.
No idea how likely any of this is, but this would be my wishlist. If Ken and Akuma also show up(which is pretty likely), that leaves some slots for new characters as well.

Crud, I just realized I misunderstood and took liberties that Capcom meant 16 “returning” characters, and not 16 total at the start. So I’m editing my earlier post guess for 12 characters, plus the 4 newbies joining. My guesses for characters coming in later “seasons” are:
Guile, Karin, Sakura, Sean, Makoto, Remy, Akuma, Gouken, Juri, Oro, Q, and maybe M. Bison.
There are SOOOO many characters that we all would like to return, so I’m hoping they at least up it 20-24 characters from the jump.
I just had an epiphany: Urien is going to be the boss of SF5, it takes place after 3, and Charlie is going to be one of his minions.
